Deca announced they've changed him, that the original design was not intended. I have a feeling it is because so many players had bad reactions to the dragon, he was either loved or hated. I was one of those who loved the old design, so I'm sad they caved in to pressures to change him. Not everyone needs to like every dragon, some should be able to have their own little fan base.
After discussion with Deca and many saying they liked the old design, they responded:
Thanks for the feedback, to be a bit clearer on the topic, the original Frons design did not pass some of our art process steps and therefore should have not been released as it was. I'm sure some preferred the old one and some will prefer the new one but it's important for us to ensure that our quality check processes are respected.

The new one is more appropriate for a late summer event, but I loved the old one too. I would love to see the old "Frons" rushed through their "art process steps" and re-released with a new name next month...
The new egg is pretty too. That's what I first noticed, "what kind of egg is that, and how did it get in my hatchery without my noticing!?!"

I’m sad Frons changed. I appreciate DECA’s explanation tho. But they could’ve just done all their "art processes" and fixed Frons without completely changing it. Hopefully they’ll work on the Frons design and finish their processes so they can put it back in the game.
There were way worse dragons that were pushed out that needed work rather than Frons. I would have much rather had some makeovers done to the earlier sun/moon dragons that look like the legs are just pinned on rather than moving fluidly. I am talking about Moriante, Darkmatter and Tranquil and bunch. Maybe there is hope for them...

I agree Tranquil was pretty bad. But what I get from DECA’s comment is they accidentally released Frons in an unfinished form so now they are making the correction instead of finishing it. Moriante Darkmatter and Tranquil were completely ready so they probably won’t change them. They made it sound like they’re going to be more careful so they won’t make late changes like this again so I don’t see them going back and giving Tranquil an improvement.
They could do something like let us get costume pieces that switch the look of these dragons. Then we could have the Frons we all want in our parks. DECA please think about doing this, thank you!

There's something strange about them, but they're also really beautiful. Dark rifted transquil is better than normal in the leg aspect, moriante seems slightly different in overall art style, but I liked that.
Light/Darkmatter, though... kind of take after my little pony characters or whatever they're called?? Am I the only one seeing this? Not bad, either, but very different from an autumn or seasonal dragon.

SORIAK, best friend of Kairos (so much so, its name is Kairos spelled backwards) is prematurely in the co-op looking for more friends! Clearly the less fit, more casual version of Kairos. But super friendly.

IT APPEARS DECA IS GOING TO RUN WITH THIS LEAK — Soriak has been officially released into the Vale with breeding hint and green hourglass!

Oh man he’s so cute as a baby! And cute derpy as an adult. I’ve seen pictures of this dragon leaked everywhere and lots of theories about his name so this is the least surprised I’ve been to see a dragon. I haven’t seen the baby version tho!! 😍 I guess this makes up for taking away Frons lol!

They do look like My Little Pony I’ve seen people make that comparison before. I don’t think Tranquil looks better in the rift it just looks like it’s wearing socks lol because that’s where the trait is placed.

It kind of reminds me of a colorful feather duster. 😅
But yes, I think this new form is an improvement. Not exactly outstanding, but I wouldn't mind having it in my park now. It's actually kind of cute like that.

Ok, unabashed fan letter to DECA here... I love the new frons AND the old one too. When i first saw it i thought, “oh my gosh, frons is going to change with the seasons!” And then i realized that we didn’t just have a season change. 😂
I think DECA has just been wonderful since they have acquired DV. They have made gorgeous dragons and eggs for us and kept the essence of the game too. They have made some new additions (like egg hatchy) but then also ask, “Do you like this game? How would you change it?” I really appreciate that they seem to seek and want our input in the game. I remember how utterly devastated i was when i thought DV was going to go away forever and am so grateful DECA took us on AND kept it true to the reasons we loved it. ❤️

Not sure if I'm in the minority here, but I really like Moriante and Tranquil. I think Moriante has some beautiful colors and patterns, and I absolutely love the dragons that change form and color depending on what time of day it is. Like Toco, Razzle and Dazzle, for example. Those glow in the dark dragons are some of my all time favorites. 😍❤
Tranquil looks like a mooncalf. It's just a cute little jiggly, star speckled bundle of cuteness and I adore it. 💜
