I am looking for end of the event advice please. Do we spend candy on many small rift habits or only buy a few and upgrade those few? Lastly what is the best cash giving item. Thanks so very much for all that you do for us.
It looks like the Leaf pedestal that sells for 4,500,000 and can be bought for 510 event currency is the best thing to buy and sell with leftover currency. You end up getting 8,823.5 dc per 1 event currency.

If you have less than 510 left to spend, the next best options are the Jive Chive and Meta-carotene planters - they can be bought for 200 EC and can be sold for 1,625,000 giving you 8,125 dc per 1 event currency.
ilovdragons your Kwall is like Wendigo they have a day look and a night look. If you are able to switch back and forth with day and night in your park you will see. Wendigo’s day look is nicer then it’s night look. I like Kwall’s night better than it’s day.

And Iden too! I really like its fluffy white look (as its description) when I turned the color back on. It was kind of funny.. I did not realize that it has a night/day look. When I read the description of "white and fluffy", I was like "no, it is green!"...

I had to purchase ALL the limited dragons on both parks, no rifted and only just recently got the charlatan rifted dragon on park 2. I couldn’t even co op breed with anyone (I did get a twin malifice toward the beginning of the event on park 1) <—only exception. I have been trying to get the charlatan rifted on park 1 for over a week, using and triple checking, the correct pair and all spending up to 15K etherium each day!!! Neither park was successful in rifting the macabre dragon. For the record, this event almost made me give up dragonvale, and I’ve been playing for over 6 years!! I do not expect to get every dragon right from the get go, but there is no way the rates can be this bad. I think I would’ve had a better chance getting another chromacorn dragon at this rate....Alright there is my rant.

It certainly was a tough one, this event I was able to breed only 3 dragons, throughout the event. I spent all my candy currency for all the rest of the dragons and their pedestals, including Barbaros (that I had to buy to try for Ocular that I ended up buying) Charlatan and Scourge, that I have been trying for since day one. I also bought all their peds, except Kaw’s , I ran of candy. I did manage to pick up three of the new Rift habitats and a couple more Spooky ones. I also used candy to transform a few Porcelains and Wraths
all in all, i guess it really was an okay event, even though the breeding was so tough. I didn’t have extra candies to buy more decorations, but I was able to pick up all my missing dragons, that were available to buy.

Hmm, my first instinct is no, but hopefully someone will correct me if I’m wrong. Edit- thought is because you are evolving dragons that do not exist in the rift (ie fire instead of fire rift).

The Ghostly dragons can not be of rift form and do not have traits. They can have twins though. 😊

I also don't expect to be able to breed every dragon as they are released or when they are re-released, but a better balance between buying with event currency and being able to breed the dragons would be great.

Not all of them were used for evolutions, but they were there to complete the set of complementary decorations for each food type you could harvest.

You are not alone. Other people constantly talk here and elsewhere about how hard the events are now and how many events there have been and they haven’t bred a single event dragon in several events or only 1-2. It is very difficult now because the events where the % dropped are rolling back around so even older dragons are now hard to achieve. Hopefully since last year’s winter dragons are only two elements they will be easier to parent clone in coop. They are around 3% to breed so not great but better than 1-2%.

I am confused! Why can't I put a rift habitat in the rift? It's weird to have a rift habitat in my regular park!
I suppose I should have read the description before I posted. I had just assumed these new habitats went into the rift, which would be great because I'm at max rift habitats. I'm much less enthusiastic about having them in my regular park.

That would’ve been amazing to have new Rift habitats for the Rift, maybe with a limit of only 2 so the Etherium earning isn’t too unbalanced. Or letting these Rift habitats in the Vale earn Etherium instead of DC, would’ve been another optimal option.
When traited gemstone/crystalline dragons could reside in the Rift habitats, it was perfect, because there’s nowhere else to put them except the hibernation caves. But since that’s not possible right now, there isn’t a huge purpose for the Rift habitats.

The Game Reps have requested the percentages be raised for event dragons, but I don’t know if Deca is willing to change BFS’s dragons, like Barbarous, Charlatan, Macabre, and Scourge.
It appears the problem occurred when BFS’s low breeding Four Horsemen returned for this event and were used in breeding combos for the new dragons. Even though the new Deca event dragons have better odds than the Four Horsemen, without Barbarous and Charlatan, two of the new limiteds weren’t breedable. And since many players were unable to breed the Four Horsemen last year, they still didn’t have them when this event started. I don’t think Deca realised this or foresaw the problem, since they weren’t around last Hallowe’en. But I’ll let them know and suggest they consider using older dragons or ones with higher percentages in future breeding combos.

I think that would work! If the dragons in the breeding hint were old dragons so players had years to get them it wouldn’t be as much of a problem or if it’s a new player they could buy the old dragon for cheap with magic since old dragons cost a lot less. DECA could also as you said use dragons that have a better breeding chance. I like what you said earlier about not always having new Epics but having new rares too as limited event dragons. At least that would give players a much better chance of breeding some of the dragons.

I have two parks, in one I tried to breed Barbarous and Charlatan and in the other I tried Macabre and Scourge. All four caves were used the ENTIRE event with these pairings (all dragons were at a level 20) with a minimum of twice daily breedings facilitated with gems and I managed to breed ONE Macabre dragon during the whole event. Same with the Co-op cave, twice a day and I managed to clone one dragon, with you adlerist, that's all I got, I was never able to clone another in either park. The event was 39 days long (I think I'm counting right) and that was all I got.
I love this game but that is SO discouraging, it makes me not want to play because I can't breed anything. Buying dragons is great as a supplement but is NOT the main purpose of this game. Please let Deca know that we aren't whining, this is a legitimate complaint about something that fundamentally changes the focus of the game. If this is going to be a buy only game with only the barest chance to actually breed the dragons, old or new, then they should just admit it please so I can keep from wasting my time and frustration breeding. I spent a lot of gems, and perhaps that was the purpose, but with the current model I don't plan on spending them in the future. If enough other players feel the same Deca will start to lose revenue.
Deca, we appreciate the things you've done to improve our game and the effort you've expended creating new things for us like Eggy, but please fix our beloved game so we can all return to our dragon breeding delight. We'll still speed things up with gems, we're an impatient lot and want to see those new babies as soon as possible. Please, please, make this fun again!

I totally agree...I bought 2 rift habs w left over candy AFTER I HAD TO BUY EVERY SINGLE NEW DRAGON and ped (seriously, Deca, I’m sure this is called a ‘dragon breeding game’, not dragon buying game)...anyhoo, I expected said Rhabs to float in Vale sky, but no, somehow I’m sposed to squish them onto already over populated islands, not impressed. deary deary me.....
