Um... isn't getting twin versions of gemstone dragons ridiculously easy now that getting a duplicate dragon from a mystery egg assures an automatic twin?
Getting first twins or twin rifts of these would be easy buying eggs, but getting twin pedestals not so much. Once you get one twin of any kind you always get twin rifts after. Gemstone and Crystalline have a low chance and then throwing getting it to be a twin on top is rather difficult.
I see. You could avoid that in a new park at least by going for the twin pedestal and then the dragon. Or just don't mind having a rift trait on a twin egg. I didn't even realize that someone might not like rifted twins.
I sure hope DECA does not discontinue the rift. I do 16 breeds in the rift daily (up to 10,000 etherium) which greatly increases the chances of getting new dragons. I also buy mystery eggs in the rift and occasionally get one of the few recent rifted or twin dragons I do not have. I have had my original game for years and to be honest it has became a little boring but, because I still love Dragonvale, I started a new game about nine months ago. I made the goal of my new baby park to get one each of all the dragons in any form, regular, twin or rifted and it has been fun. I have only four islands but the rift is totally built up, this allows me to collect a lot of etherium to do rift breeding and buy mystery eggs. After nine months I am only 27 dragons away from completing my goal!

It's been a busy few days and I'm reminded of a feature I really, REALLY miss in the game:
Knowing how many iceberries you've collected. I don't always remember how many times I've checked up on my park. It's not a problem in the first half of events, but the longer they go on, the more I forget. I've ended the day with incomplete habitat collection a few times now.
It’s not quite as bad as the lottery, but I certainly understand what you’re saying, MinyaZ. If Party is released, as many players have requested, that will cost us gems to speed up breeding, because Party is a frequent fail with a high percentage.
Due to all the recent complaints about breeding odds, Deca has addressed the problem by more than doubling the social cloning percentage from ~1.5% to 4% (parent breeding has remained the same at 2%). A 4% cloning percentage for a new, epic dragon is very high. Backflip was not this generous in their latter years. This will ensure players have a better chance of obtaining new dragons.
Based on player feedback, the goal for Deca was to help players so they could breed some of the new dragons, not to obtain all twins, all twin pedestals, and every new dragon traited. What understandably frustrated players the most was their inability to breed any new event dragons. Increasing the cloning percentage helped to resolve the issue. However, since the game revolves around chance, there will always be players who are unlucky with a dragon while cloning or breeding in the Vale or Rift (as Amos pointed out). Unfortunately, there isn’t much that can be done to address this, except to hold out hope for the next BEB. I really can’t see Deca raising the percentages any higher. They could introduce even more rare dragons over epics, but there needs to be some balance in the challenge of breeding new dragons to ensure players will not be bored and still entice players to support the game with in-app purchases.
i think odds have been really great for the event. i can breed new dragons much better & it is less stress. pls thank deca for me or i should email them & say thanks really. they did great job & i thank them for listening & thank u for telling them so change happened fast! we have nothing to complain w breeding & that was real quick!
I totally agree with you. I get that people want it to be really easy to breed everything but I don’t agree that it would be fun. It would be boring and people wouldn’t play. It’s never been easy to breed new dragons at least not for many years so why would it suddenly change? How were people able to stick with the game this long if they’ve been unhappy about breeding odds for years?
I’ve been able to breed the new dragons and so have my friends. Here’s the strategy I use. It works for me and I hope it will for other people who are having trouble.
1. I play 4 times a day around every four hours. I’m able to finish the Eggy Hatchy towers and complete several breeds in the Vale.
2. I level up my dragons to 20 to breed. I think it helps but if you don’t level them up to 20 at least do 16. I use elder dragons too.
3. On my last login of the day before I go to bed, if any of the breeding times are less than 5 hours I’ll speed it up and start a new breed so while I’m sleeping time isn’t being wasting with a dragon that’s been done for hours.
4. When Kairos is ready I speed up 6 co-op cave breeds if I’m cloning a new dragon since the odds are better for cloning, and fill up Gaia’s nest. Don’t be afraid to use your gems that’s what they’re there for! You’ll earn more don’t worry!
5. If I can’t breed a limited dragon, just before it leaves I’ll buy it with iceberries. It’s my back up plan and it works just fine b/c I always have enough iceberries.
Whenever I talk to someone who says they can’t breed the new dragons I find out they don’t check their game much and they rarely or never speed up any breeds. It’s really hard to breed anything if you’re only trying 6-10 times in a week. That’s probably why you’re not getting the dragon. Use those gems!

I feel like if we keep complaining it’s going to sound like we’re never going to be satisfied and DECA will stop taking our complaints because there’s nothing they can do that will make us happy. They more than doubled the odds and if we still don’t like it then maybe this is the wrong game for us. I like the fact that the game isn’t easy and it’s not impossible either that’s how Dragonvale should be. Thanks for letting DECA know and explaining our situation with them adlerist so we could get better odds and thanks to all the great players who emailed and complained. And thank you DECA!
I agree and why I think they should eliminate the Rift. With the Rift Habitats in your regular park you could move over and save the Rift exclusive dragons and/or your favorites. Dissolve the Rift, keep the toggle and give us a Twin park so we can display all of our Twins. A couple of breeding spots there which are weighted to produce Twins. That alone would eliminate much of the frustration in this game and make the Events more enjoyable.
I think the Rift has been the coolest addition to the game. I don’t understand why anyone would want to get rid of it. Players can just ignore it if they don’t want to use it. If some people don’t like it, it doesn’t mean other people don’t enjoy it. A couple more slow breeding caves in its place isn’t going to give us the 12-18 breeds we can do every day in the Rift.
The dragons traited look really amazing and the Rift really helps me get dragons when I can’t get them in the other caves. The Rift is a lifesaver, it’s the best!

You nailed it! That’s exactly what people say to me when they can’t breed a dragon.
I agree that the breeding odds are perfect now and we need to say thanks to DECA for fixing it. I play a lot of other games and the developers would NEVER do something like this. They don’t like to make a part of the game easier because they think people will spend less money. But it’s not true because that’s not why people spend money on games. I’m really blown away that DECA can see this and understands it so they made the change and increased the breeding %.
I also agree with everyone else, the Rift is the best thing ever! Don’t get rid of it, that’s insane.

The Abominable Snowman is actually the Adorable YETI. But don’t be fooled by his fuzzy demeanour. Hobbies include: acting distant and cold, only posing for blurry photos, general moodiness, not being seen.
Yeti is at 20 and having a pot luck in the co-op with his neighbour Snowball and cousin the polar bear. Bring your top potato salad.

ANGLER is on a fishing expedition. Not a fly fisherman, instead he has specialised the technique of tail angling (see image below). It keeps him in constant competition with Neyvee for the Vale’s best fish. Also loves a good sushi bar.

I took a look - I see the evolution requirements (they are also posted at the beginning of this thread). I was looking for help on ways to GET the decorations before the event ends. I have maybe 4-6 of each type of decoration.

When you click on the presents and Sandakloz in your park there is a possibility that you can receive decorations. You can also use gems to buy more games at the Fort of Frivolity, which may also give you decorations. Please note, in both of these instances, the decorations could be duplicates of ones you already own.
To receive a guaranteed unowned decoration you will need to purchase The Toy Chest from the Holly Tier in the Event Market for 1250 iceberries.
Stargazing is the pick of the day, with 3 stages with only points goals, and the easiest dragon egg goals. Then Polar Expedition, which is slightly harder. Bell Ringing is last, with 3 stages with dragon egg goals.
Bought Angler fed to 20 and in coop for friends that want to try. 🐠
Bred Yeti in Epic cave with Kringle and Krampus both at 20.
