The increase for the chance to clone these limited dragons has helped. I was able to pull 2 Yanghis myself and received my 2 twins shortly after buying my first. I bought right away and started to breed for twins/pedestals. The rift versions are proving rather difficult for me though. I did not get a Snowball rift even though I tried all week with every single rift breed. I may change things up and breed for my rift pedestals because it is just so annoying to spend all week spending 500,000 E in attempts and nothing to show for it.
Congratulations on 2 Yanghis as well as getting a couple of twins. Great result. It must be very challenging trying to keep up with having twins and twin pedestals of every dragon.
I also didn't get a rift Snowball although trying solidly for the week. I already know that I won't get a rift Yanghis. I don't have a Starshine in the rift - which needs Twinkle to breed, and I don't have one. I have been trying to breed a rift Twinkle on and off since the beginning of the event, but nothing yet.
i had the same problem as u! i didnt have twinkle in rift but got it last week. then i bred twinkle & dazzling & i got starshine in a day. i was so surprised! it is possible. i hope u can get twinkle & starshine soon! i send u lots of luck!!
Tree Decorating is a slightly better choice, as it has slightly lower point requirements to unlock the upper stages. Candle Lighting would be next. And finally Hearth Warming, which has 3 stages with a dragon goal.
I don't know about everyone else, but this day has been the worst so far. Never did get stage 5 on tree decorating or hearth warming. Hearth warming was my real nemesis for the last 3 stages 😖
With Dazzling and Ornamental being possible fails with cloning (or breeding) a Yanghis the odds of breeding him in a week have become nearly impossible. I think I'd have more chance winning the lottery.

It’s not quite as bad as the lottery, but I certainly understand what you’re saying, MinyaZ. If Party is released, as many players have requested, that will cost us gems to speed up breeding, because Party is a frequent fail with a high percentage.
Due to all the recent complaints about breeding odds, Deca has addressed the problem by more than doubling the social cloning percentage from ~1.5% to 4% (parent breeding has remained the same at 2%). A 4% cloning percentage for a new, epic dragon is very high. Backflip was not this generous in their latter years. This will ensure players have a better chance of obtaining new dragons.
Based on player feedback, the goal for Deca was to help players so they could breed some of the new dragons, not to obtain all twins, all twin pedestals, and every new dragon traited. What understandably frustrated players the most was their inability to breed any new event dragons. Increasing the cloning percentage helped to resolve the issue. However, since the game revolves around chance, there will always be players who are unlucky with a dragon while cloning or breeding in the Vale or Rift (as Amos pointed out). Unfortunately, there isn’t much that can be done to address this, except to hold out hope for the next BEB. I really can’t see Deca raising the percentages any higher. They could introduce even more rare dragons over epics, but there needs to be some balance in the challenge of breeding new dragons to ensure players will not be bored and still entice players to support the game with in-app purchases.
Thank you adlerist for being such a fair and unbiased moderator. I think we all need to chip in and buy you a referee outfit since you do such an amazing job!

Hello all! I noticed a new button in the rift, after you breed something there is a “release” button that gives, XP, ice berries, AND E! This is new right? Also could anyone confirm that breeding Harmony in the rift is possible with a rifted harmony and a rifted ironwood? I have been trying since the release of Yanghis for a rifted harmony to breed another rifted harmony to try for a rifted Yanghis. Thanks!
edited to say I want another rifted harmony to get a rifted dazzling to bred with my rifted twinkle for Yanghis

Yes, your combo could produce another Harmony. Harmony has opposing elements though and I find those harder to breed and clone than most. You might want to try for an easier ornamental to put with your Harmony. There is also a chance to breed Dazzling with only one ornamental element right now. It is listed as 2 but only one can sometimes produce Dazzling. With all of this said, Yanghis is a locked combo of STARSHINE + FLICKER in the rift so the two dragons you posted would not work for that dragon in the rift.
Release button is not new. Some events it goes missing and is replaced with donate like the bingo boat event.
Glacier Sledding is the pick of the day, with the first 3 levels having only a score goal. Then Snowflake Catching, which has easier dragon egg goals, save for Stage 4. Precipitous Prognostication can be left for last.

This player is utterly bored with buying dragons and never getting the satisfaction of BREEDING dragons anymore. At least DECA could inject loads more Islands and Habitats into the game to bring up the fun level that way. I would be willing to get rid of the Rift entirely (haven’t bred a new Rift dragon in ages) if it would help them to clean up the game’s code to put some fun back in the game.
It seems there are only 20 towers in rotation this event, and so we are back to the beginning today, with the return of the Snowball Fight tower.

We need more islands including a giant one, twin weekend (it has been ages), Shimmering Solstice event to be able to breed gemstones since getting twins and twin pedestals of those are so difficult, Collection Comebacks to get event rift versions that aren’t available while events are going on, Runic Breeding Cave...lots of things I miss.
The balance with a collecting game is you need to be able to get almost everything...when you flood the game people aren’t “this close” to completing and willing to purchase to complete. Now I am saying that from a standpoint of collecting 4xdragons, 4xpedestals, all versions of each. If I only collected one each I can keep up. For the ones that collect all, we never have enough down time to work on those extra versions. Almost all the newer dragons have locked combos which means you have to specifically go after rift and twin versions. They are not going to come as a fail. This does have an upside that the dragons will not be a fail when you are breeding for something else.
To not be able to go after twin rift versions mean those may never be completed because it is totally random unless you pick from a gift calendar reward or a runic cave choice. I have less than 50 twin rift dragons to go but it is something I can not control at all besides having all twins so I always get a twin rift from a mystery egg. I really don’t understand the twin rift versions without a coop rift cave. Another reason for a rift coop cave would be to be able to get regular rifted Galaxy dragons. By the time the rift gave us Galaxy dragons I already had all twins so all my eggs were twin rifts.
I agree and why I think they should eliminate the Rift. With the Rift Habitats in your regular park you could move over and save the Rift exclusive dragons and/or your favorites. Dissolve the Rift, keep the toggle and give us a Twin park so we can display all of our Twins. A couple of breeding spots there which are weighted to produce Twins. That alone would eliminate much of the frustration in this game and make the Events more enjoyable.

I completely agree RED about Hearth Warming not being very warm or welcoming...

Um... isn't getting twin versions of gemstone dragons ridiculously easy now that getting a duplicate dragon from a mystery egg assures an automatic twin?

I love the rift and don't even collect twins, so...
🤔 I don’t love the rift although I do love some dragons with a trait but move them over to the regular park to have them on display. I also don’t collect twins & not really fussed about having all the pedestals (I mean it would be nice but probably won’t ever happen). But I totally agree that it’s boring to have to buy event dragon after event dragon. Much more fun to actually breed them after a few tries & it would be great to have a new island & to spend berries on decorations for it rather than need them to buy the dragons. This event started great for me but has gone downhill ever since 🤣

Getting first twins or twin rifts of these would be easy buying eggs, but getting twin pedestals not so much. Once you get one twin of any kind you always get twin rifts after. Gemstone and Crystalline have a low chance and then throwing getting it to be a twin on top is rather difficult.

adlerist Thank you for the Yanghis dragon! That's four out of four that I've tried for so far. At this rate, I'll be able to spend all my event currency on decorations and dragons I've missed from previous events since I'm able to breed and/or clone the new ones.
Koala to everyone who is still trying! 🐨🐨🌿🐨🐨🐨🌿🌿🌿🐨🐨
EDIT: I just realized something! I got myself a new koala plushie as a winter solstice gift. Maybe the little guy is helping because I've never been this good at breeding/cloning dragons before. I know they've increased the odds but shh, let's not tell that to my hardworking little koala bear. 😊💕

You couldn’t be more right Cyn . DV should be about breeding not buying. Way back when this game began, I spent probably a couple bucks every month or so and my progress was, to me, satisfactory, it was fun and not boring.
We desperately need more Islands and Habitats.
And then there’s the Rift... what a waste. It serves no purpose and uses up huge amounts of memory...it is the main reason our ‘older’ devices crash. I’m totally with you on getting rid of the rift entirely. It would “clean up the game’s code”, that’s for sure...not crashing = more fun.

I'm going to step in here and agree with those who are saying we need to get rid of the rift. I haven't even gone into the rift for about four months. I never developed mine, and for a while I was only using it to get extra currency on double days.
And it's true that the rift makes older devices crash. I had to buy a new tablet when the rift was introduced because it took up so much memory that the game became unplayable. So let's dump the rift and clear out some space so our games run more smoothly.

I think If you turn your first one into a pedestal, then you will still receive them with the eggs.

I love the rift dragons - the rift versions are very pretty (and if not, the trait can be changed). I probably have more rift dragons than twins - I have been unable to breed a twin I didn't already have in forever. If not for other people using one of my dragons to breed with, I wouldn't be getting any new twins at all. Besides the appearance of rift dragons, I really like the faster breeding time. I try to collect every dragon in both the park and the rift. I have been doing the same with pedestals, but am thinking of giving them up unless I just really like them. I agree with everyone that the breeding seems to be much harder these days. I know that they have employees to pay and utilities and all that stuff and I want to keep the game I love so much. Sometimes I think it would be better maybe if there was a small fee to pay to play, but that's not what this game was about. I just remember how sad we all were when we thought the game was gone.
