I'm not sure if this is a bug or me doing something I shouldn't.
Having spent two wishes on islands 31 and 32 I decided on major renovations of the whole park. I always fill bare space with gold paths - mainly so I can see where I can either fit another habitat or a tree or two.
The quickest way has been to go into 'edit paths' and then instead of placing the tiles one at a time, I tap on the edge of the island and the paths appear quickly in all the vacant spaces.
Last night, after filling major spaces to assess where I could continue, I filled all the spaces, but noticed that a few extra taps still deducted dragoncash, even though there was nowhere to fit any more gold tiles. I tried it again this morning and if I tap anywhere on the island the dragoncash total spins down.I think that I must have wasted millions by tapping madly to fill any spaces I thought MIGHT be there, but weren't.
What am I doing wrong? Cecilia at the Duckpond
I was curious about this so I checked it out on an island that is completely empty. When all the spaces were filled with the path, no more path tiles were placed and no more DC was taken. I had the same results as Adlerist. I tried it with the Gold Path and had the same outcome, but like adlerist said it does take time for the DC total to catch up so that could be what you’re seeing. The game is probably programmed to take DC as the path is placed. If it’s not placed it won’t remove DC. So there may be a bug with your park or island that lets the path be placed over and over in one spot. That’s the only thing I can think of, hopefully DECA can see where the problem is.
Thanks for putting me straight on this one - both adlerist and MinyaZ. I was so sure my dragoncash was spinning out of control, but after your testings I went back and did the same thing with one of my smaller not so densely populated islands - and you're quite right - nothing's wrong!!!
Many thanks for taking the trouble to do the test runs.

You’re very welcome, Cecilia! It’s no problem, I rather enjoy these DV puzzles and sample tests.
But I’d also like to extend the credit to singleimage. It was singleimage and myself who tested and posted our results. I’m glad it got sorted out and you’re not losing millions in DC. 😊

Has anyone else noticed more crashes since the start of the event? Might be because I bought a few more islands, but my game is crashing anywhere from 1-5 times a day, often when I’m scrolling the event market or Dragonarium.

The crashes have increased in my game with this event quite a bit.

It sounds like you’re experiencing RAM issues. Sometimes the addition of event content can increase crashes. This occurred most noticeably with the last version of Eggy Hatchy. More islands, increasing the size of your park, could also be causing the problem.
Switching your park to Low Resolution Mode will help a lot. If you’re already playing in low res, store all your animated decorations, remove island themes, turn off the Weather Station and Twilight Tower themes, turn off orbs/crowns, and remove as much animation as possible. For your device, you can force close apps running in the background and power cycle your device before playing.
From my experience, Low Resolution Mode is by far the most effective measure (but it’s a temporary bandaid and you’ll eventually outgrow low res). The rest are great tips that can help, but don’t always have a noticeable impact on preventing crashes.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll try low-resolution mode and see if it makes a difference. I’m also playing on such an old device that it likely can’t handle the game as my park grows.

I am also experiencing more crashes after getting the two newest islands. On my old kindle fire I remember setting the colors all to grayscale. Was this before the low resolution mode? Will it still help now? I was checking my park in gray mode looking for moving items to store, and I noticed so many habitats have animated corner markers. Shouldn’t that be turned off in lo res mode.

If you’re experiencing crashes, please turn on Low Resolution Mode. Low res will not disable the small animated markers on habitats. But it does reduce the image resolution/quality of the entire game, so it’s the most effective way of reducing the amount of RAM required to run DV. That should temporarily resolve most, if not all, of the crashes.

No worries! I’m more than happy to share the credit with MinyaZ! She does so much anyways it’s only right 😃

I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but I'm starting to think this gem gifting bug is a good thing. It makes it easier for me to remember who I gifted yesterday, so I can distribute the gems to different people without having to make a new list every couple of days.
But that's just me. I try to find some positivity in things, even when something is messed up.
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.
After reset today I am getting the wizard spell went wonky message again and can’t load my main park again. After 3 tries it will go to Game Center and I can load my low level park fine. This looks to be the extract same thing that occurred at the beginning of the expansion extravaganza. Already tried the usual fixes with no luck.
It appears if you successfully breed Heavy Metal in the Rift, you will be locked out of your game. We do not know if breeding Heavy Metal in the Vale has the same result or if it affects all platforms. For now, please refrain from breeding the new dragon!

Did you try to breed Heavy Metal?

This happened to me too. I think the good news is you may have bred it. At least that’s what the Discord community is reporting. Although, I’m not sure how they know, because my game crashed before I could see what I bred.
Deca is working on it. I’ll keep you and everyone updated. Cheers!

Was trying to breed new dragon, game crashed and now am locked out of dragonglow. Thanks for the heads up amos when I contacted you and thank you adlerist for letting players know and doing up dates.
PSA: If you were locked out, you should be able to load your park now!
That’s the whole message.

adlerist, can you visit my park and look at my 31st island (sorry I don’t have an image hosting place). I bought a giant melody habitat and then moved it to the upper right corner, and now all that shows of the habitat are the corner treble clefs and the dancing music notes. I’m curious if that is what you see if you visit. I do not have a dragon to put in the habitat yet.

I'm not adlerist , but it is showing the same for me when I visit your park. It's like an invisible habitat. Try putting your park in colour and see if it makes a difference. Still a bug, but would be interesting to see if that is part of the problem.
