The DragonVale Community Forum has a brand new look! Since the forum’s theme and images have not been updated in many years, we were certainly overdo for a revised and refreshed appearance. Here’s a brief overview of the changes:
🔹 New banner and background images: the banner image will likely be changed to a cropped version of the current event splash screen. I’ll also periodically update the background image.
🔹 Translucent Home page: the purpose of the translucency is to allow the background image to be visible. If you hoover over or click on any board, the background will become opaque with a white container so it’s easily readable. In addition, all posts are opaque, so readability is the same as before. The translucency only appears on the Home page.
🔹 New colour palette: the header, text, and overall colour scheme has been updated and may be changed in the future to match the lead colour of the banner image or to contrast the background image.
🔹 New board and thread icons: the tediously dull file folder icons have been ditched for the marvellously adorable baby primary dragons.

If you are ever unsure of what the dragon icons represent, there is a legend on the board page
Home Page Icons
• Fire = no new posts (if you’re logged in), or generic board icon (if you’re logged out) • Lightning = new posts (must be logged in to see the new post icon)

NOTE: to see the images and icons, you will need to be viewing the forum in Desktop (click on Desktop in the lower right corner of the page). The mobile version does not support theme images.
This FORUM UPDATES/REQUEST thread has been created so members can provide comments, concerns, suggestions, or questions about the forum’s theme, images, and functionality. In addition, if you have any recommendations or ideas for the forum, or images for the header, background, or icons, please post your suggestions on this thread. We cannot promise every idea or image will be implemented, but they will all be considered.
Any significant new updates to the forum’s features or theme, will be posted on this thread.

It’s been a year since we’ve expanded the avatar images, and many new dragons have been added to the game. So if there are any you would like to have included in the list of available avatars on the Profile page, please post your request here, and it will be uploaded.
Important: all images will be pulled from DV Wiki, so check wiki first to ensure the picture is acceptable. If you have a preference for the baby, juvenile, or adult, or if the dragon has several forms (day/night, enhancements), please state the version you would like to have added. Otherwise, the image that looks the best will be selected. No personal pictures, please (you can add personal images from your profile).
To start the avatar additions, I have added some favourites: baby Void (by Backflip Studios), baby Yeti (for RecallDoro), and juvenile Dargon (by Deca Games).

UPDATE #2: background image seems to be fine now. Elminster will be obstructing some of the upper text for admin and staff who are logged in because the extra staff board is lengthening the Home page, so the background image is positioning higher than usual on a phone screen.

Great minds! I thought the same thing when I was putting the forum theme together and was having difficulty getting the background image to line up. Deca has been creating new Twilight Tower themes for each event, so I thought I’d wait to see if there was a new one and apply it to forum’s upcoming event theme. If there isn’t anything new, I’ll consider using the Twilight Tower selection for the event. I’m not sure how a nighttime theme will work; some people don’t like a dark background with light text. So far, Deca has only created daytime themes. They’re overdue for some darkness.
However, I really, really like the image of Elminster summoning Tiamat and Bahamut to introduce the game’s first Legendary dragons. So I’m willing to go to the ends to make it work.

I know they probably change with your location but they’re really huge and annoying over here. It’s nice to see the forum without them for once! Can anyone pay to have ads removed? Or only admin and mods? How does it work? There’s a link on the forum from ProBoards (it’s on all their forums so I know you guys didn’t put it there) for removing ads but it’s not very helpful. I would definitely like more info.

I’m also glad you’ll put more avatars up because it would be fun to change it a lot. I looked at Wiki and some of my faves don’t look so great in the picture lol so that makes a big difference.
Can you add Spirit baby, and baby corrupticorn. I love baby Yeti so you got that covered. The babies are the best!

Absolutely! And the new format, and the new icons/avatars, and two months free of adverts! And all this thanks our outstanding, imaginative, creative, genius Adlerist ! Of course she had help from the members of the team , no doubt, but the leader makes the team. Our founding father, Poppy, would be so proud seeing what his forum has become! • Fixed the Like button: after liking a post, the button did not change colour, so it was difficult to tell if you gave a post the thumbs up. Added the theme’s blue colour when the button is selected.
• Fixed the background image: it should display correctly on a tablet or PC. For mobile users, there may be a slight issue with Elminster covering some text at the top. Screen sizes vary from phone to phone, but overall, you should be able to read the upper text on the Home page. (Staff may have more difficulty when logged in on a mobile device due to the extra staff board, but it should look fine for members.) If the Elminster-Bathmat (Bahamut/Tiamat) image is preventing readability of the upper text (list of staff names), please let me know. And also include the name of your device. Thank you!
Hopefully, all the wrinkles in the new theme and its compatibility with the forum will be ironed out before the next event starts.
