The DragonVale team at Deca Games would like to receive feedback from players regarding their new event dragons. To capture an accurate account of our players’ assessments and responses, Rate a Dragon feedback threads will be created for each new dragon approximately one to four weeks after its release. This will allow players some time to breed the dragons and admire their fine qualities.
The Rate a Dragon threads will remain unlocked until the event concludes on 4 August. At the end of the event, your feedback will be passed on to Deca.
Please take a minute to rate the dragons from 1-5 for each category. You can either post your feedback on this thread, or message me. Thank you for participating, sharing your opinions, and making this game even better than it was yesterday.

Please give a jovial and generous welcome to the DragonVale Discord players! The DV Discord server is in the process of developing a method for their players to rate the new event dragons. In the meantime, I have invited them to post their feedback on the Rate a Dragon threads.
If any new guests or members from Discord or elsewhere have questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We have refreshments and a certified Olympic-size pool awaiting your arrival in the backyard. And if you want, you can say hello on the forum’s Welcome board.

4. Rate Lazuli’s price (13,000 Doubloons)
5. How well does Lazuli fit the theme of the event?
6. Rate the attention to detail in Lazuli’s design

1. Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming! In seriousness, it's all swimming. Not much else. 3/5
2. Works best with bright colors to make the trait truly show. Mine's Dark traited and it barely shows. 5/5 or 3/5 depending on the trait. Also, finally a dragon that's based on the sea slug that's called the Blue Dragon! I wonder if other dragon breeding games did it before. 5/5 for the appearance.
3. Needs to be big as the BFS Treasure Dragons and sea monsters. 2/5
4. As usual with the limited event dragons, too costly. 3/5
5. I like the appearance. But fitting for the theme of the event? I guess? More sea monster for pirates to harpoon. 3.5/5 I wonder if we're getting a dragon that's based on the legendary Moby Dick himself.
6. Great reference to the real life animal it's based on and the name and the shiny appearance makes it look treasurey! 5/5
7. Epic. Definitely a sea dragon! 5/5
8. Combo fails to make sense. At least there should have been one blue colored dragon in the locked breeding combo (Platinum or Djinni)?
5. Theme - 4 Not sure about Lazuli being part of a pirate theme, but pirates live on water - lazuli lives in water - fits with the general water theme.
6. Attention to detail - 5 An excellent representation of Glaucus atlanticus
7. Likeability - 10
8. Love this dragon. He is a good size and I love its colours. Pleased that Deca don't go overboard with the rift traits as some traits will not look good on all dragons. Although I wish Deca would make their animations stay inside the Dragonarium box.

1. Animation = 3.5
2. Rift trait placement = 5
3. Size = 5
4. Price = 4
5. Theme = 3
6. Detail = 4
7. How much do you like Lazuli? 4
8. Comments: I love how this dragon is based on the glaucus atlanticus (blue dragon), and thanks adlerist for telling us so we knew this.😄 It fits an ocean theme perfectly but there’s so many cool things that could be done with a pirate theme that I think this one could’ve been saved for later. The breeding combo doesn’t really fit. I think a couple water dragons would’ve been better, but the dragon is really beautiful.
1. 4 2. 5 3. 5 4. 4 5. 3 6. 4 7. This was a very difficult dragon to breed. I ended out purchasing because of the long fail times. Of course after the reset and my Epic Breeding Cave was finished…it gave me the dragon. 🤦♀️
1. Animation is limited, but it is based on a nudibranch, so it works. 5/5 2. The trait placement is good, but the trait itself depends. 5/5 3. The size is fine. 4/5 4. As with a lot of the current event dragons, too costly. Especially since the % for breeding it is so low. When Ovalith, one of the worst breeding combos in existence, with 7 elements added when trying for it, and still being able to buy a few of them with Lazuli’s currency amount, I think Lazuli should at most be 10.5k. Overall, stinks to buy. 1/5 5. Does not match other than water. 1/5 6. Detail is great! 5/5 7. If you look past the pain of attempting to get it, it’s very likable. The design is good, the animation is good, and the trait placement is to be expected, but good. 4/5 8. Good design, terrible cost, terrible breeding combo, and doesn’t match that well with the event. I feel like it would be better if it costed the same as Zilla
1. 5 (it's a dragon based on a sea slug. The animations made the most out of it! 2. 5 (I like it!) 3. 3 (a tad small) 4. 4 (pricey, but it's somewhat justified) 5. 2 (both aquatic, but that's it) 6. 5 (hehe, a blue dragon dragon) 7. 5 (obscure species representation for the win!) 8. Why treasure? What does it even have to do with treasure in the first place (besides to make it harder to breed)? I'd consider Dream a better choice if you needed to stick with an epic element.
1. Animation = 3 nothing interesting 2. Rift trait placement = 3 Lots more opportunities to include trait coloring 3. Size = 4 4. Price = 4 5. Theme = 1. Water and pirates ok 6. Detail = 4 7. How much do you like Lazuli? 3 8. Comments: I have noticed the juvenile and adult is the same just bigger. Let’s have some more changes. Changed to baby size and more appropriate for baby size than the teeny tiny Ahoy baby size
Please rate the Lazuli dragon on a scale of 1 to 5. (1 = worst, 5 = best)
1. Animation 5/5 I think it's overall animations are pretty good. The swimming animation does look a little weird, it could look a little better if it was just a tad bit smoother like the movements of the nudibranch it's based on
2. Rift Placement 5/5 Usually I'm not a fan of most rift traited dragons (I just prefer how they normally look), but I'd say this one actually looks quite nice (well, depends on what the actual elemental traits it has are). Reminds me of the mylio which is another dragon I love
3. Size 4.5/5 I'd say it's current size is fine though I do think it could be a bit larger (especially it's head compared to the rest of its body). It's based on a nudibranch, which is a sea slug, so it being relatively small compared to other dragons is to be expected
4. Price 3/5 Just like a ton of other stuff in this event, too expensive in my opinion
5. Theming 5/5 A lot people say "this doesn't fit the pirate theming" but I hard disagree. This event is called "Pirates in Paradise" after all so I'd say it fits the second half of the event's name. It definitely looks like something you'd find inhabiting the waters of a tropical paradise while also looking like a majestic sea monster pirates and sailors would tell legends about (also a group of glaucus atlanticus in real life is called a blue fleet so there's that)
6. Design 5/5 I absolutely love it! I'd give it a higher rating if I could. It's based on one of my favorite sea animals in real life, the glaucus atlanticus, and it definitely shows that in its design. Its color scheme is absolutely beautiful, the 3 pairs of cerata papillae ( think that's what they're called) as wyvern wings is pretty cool, its baby form is cute, and its egg pedestal design is amazing. Overall just one of the best dragon designs in my opinion. My only gripe is that the head looks and feels a little too small compared to the rest of its body
7. Likability 5/5 This dragon has barely been out for a few weeks but it's already my second favorite dragon, just behind the moriante dragon. It being based on one of my personal favorite sea animals and me being highly interested in marine biology might make me a little more biased towards it but still. I've always thought to myself "a glaucus atlanticus dragon would be cool considering one of the nicknames people have for it is the blue dragon sea slug" so that's even funnier
8. Breeding Combo As much as I love this dragon, I do think its breeding combo is just really weird. It's already extremely expensive with event currency and rare to get so I feel like its breeding combo could be changed. I propose something like scarab + coral instead of bronze. In real life these nudibranchs attack and eat pelagic siphonophores like man-o-wars (ideally I would have its breeding combo involve a jellyfish themed dragon, and while jellyfish and coral are not the same thing as man-o-wars, they're all part of the cnidaria phylum so it's the closest we got). It would also give the water element that the bronze dragon in its original combo doesn't have
Lazuli 1. 4/5 Doesn’t do a lot but doesn’t need to, it’s eye catching anyway. 2. 4/5 Subtle but effective, especially the lighter traits. 3. 5/5 Not too big, not too small. 4. 3/5 Really could be cheaper (particularly when there’s so much to spend your doubloons on). 5. 5/5 What Nyx975 said ⬆️ 6. 5/5 Absolutely gorgeous design & love that its origins are a real life sea dragon. 7. 5/5 Would score more if I could. Love, love, love it.
1. Animation: 5/5 This seems to be how a blue dragon moves IRL but of course more sped up and animated.
2. Rift trait: 5/5
3. Size: 5/5 Blue dragons are really small, so I’m glad this one is larger so we can see it!
4. Price: 3/5
5. Theme: 3/5
6. Detail: 5/5 The color and pattern is very interesting and beautiful!
7. Likability: 5
8. Comments: I guess Lazuli was supposed to fit the ocean part of the event but it missed the pirate part. Unless we’re going to have a pirate event every year (which I strongly support!) it seem all the new dragons could be focus on pirates, ships, and treasure.
Animation is fine; there seems to be more of it than in some of the other dragons, but unfortunately it's all very similar. Maybe the dragon could have been made to feel more elegant? 4/5
Trait is great; not too much and not too little. The highlights look nice. 5/5
Too small! Really, out of all of the large dragons in this event, why was this one chosen to be smaller??? It would be great if it were a bit bigger. 3/5
Price is on the verge of expensive, but then again this is an epic limited dragon. Makes sense, unfortunately. 4/5
It really covers the ocean theme but the pirate theme may have been lost. 3/5
I absolutely love this dragon. From the reference to the glaucus to the actual details in the design, this is one of my favorite dragons of the event. 5/5
This dragon is one of my favorites and is really a cool design. I wish it were bigger, but oh well. The dragon itself is amazing. 5/5
Overall, this is quite a unique dragon. I love the colors, the reference, all of it. If only there were more lore/world-building details in the description, but even what we were given was fine in describing the dragon. One of my favorites so far!

1. Rate Lazuli’s animation quality
The animation quality is very smooth and fluid. The swimming and gliding animation is done so gracefully, and I like the way it leaps and dives in midair. Very pretty. --- Giving it a score of 5.
2. How would you rate Lazuli’s Rift trait placement and look.
This was done wonderfully, with the placement giving beautiful highlights and splashes of color in all the right places. --- Giving it a score of 5.
3. Please rate Lazuli’s size.
This one is just right, not too big or too small. And considering its real life counterpart is actually very tiny, I think it's good that Lazuli is just a little on the small size. --- Giving it a score of 4.
4. Rate Lazuli’s price (13,000 Doubloons)
It's a little pricey. I think between 10,000 and 11,500 would have been better. --- Giving it a score of 3. 5. How well does Lazuli fit the theme of the event?
I think it fits in very nicely. Because it isn't all pirate ships and gold. There are lots of gorgeous sea critters out there too, like this little fella! Lazuli is a treasured find indeed. --- Giving it a score of 5.
6. Rate the attention to detail in Lazuli’s design.
It has some very nice detail. It actually looks like a blue dragon. Also, just wanted to add that I like the spikes down the back of its head. It looks like it has a cute little mohawk. --- Giving it a score of 5.
7. How much do you like Lazuli? (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!)
I really like this dragon. It's so beautiful and delicate. --- Giving it a score of 5.
