This is the wiki page I was referring to. In most cases, it has multiple dragon options listed for each race. I was using a epic, if available, and even if I come in first, I still only get one chest. Same situation if no epic is listed and I choose one of the regular/hybrids. I’m so confused on what I’m doing wrong. windrider suggested that hitting each race bar “perfect” is also needed in addition to the correct dragon in order to receive two chest prizes. I’m going to work on that.
the list I’ve been looking for, slightly obsessing over🙄, was one best dragon for each race. After reading more down the wiki page, I’ve come to realize it might very well be a recollection from the distant past lol. From the time before the races were overhauled and more races were added. Most likely a thread from the old forum that I had copy/pasted, and then lost. 🤷🏻♀️
Disregard the link to the wiki page, I know you already have that info.
What I was trying to point out are the tips outlined in the post. The best dragon to use is an epic that has at least one of the elements required in the race. So if a race requests water, or light, or plant, you can use Bogberry. That means out of the 30 different races, you can use Bogberry for 14 of the races and win.
If you don’t have an epic with one of the correct elements, use a three-element dragon.
But whatever you do, be sure you tap the hidden boost just before the race begins. Without that boost, it’s much more difficult to win.
When you win the race, you’ll receive three gold chests. If you come in second or third, the chests will be a different colour and the rewards slightly less.
Whether you receive one or two chests is purely left to chance. The 'Perfect', 'Great', 'Good', and 'Okay' indicators during the race are telling you how close you tapped the boost line, and how much of a boost you received. It has no bearing on the number of chests you’ll receive or the contents of the chests.
If you make note of the dragon at the top of start line, That is normally the fastest dragon for that race but there can be more than one possible.
The most constant way to get two chests is to get “perfect” when you tap your dragon across the booster lines. If you get all booster lines for “perfect” for a race, you can get two chests even if you don’t win the race. The trick is to tap as the lighted bar in front of your dragon crosses the booster line.
These are the races I had today and the dragons I used. A baby Crystal beat out my Quake in the second race:
Since I still haven't been able to observe full perfects making a difference, I'll be noting the results. Only got two parks, though.
It will be interesting to find out what your results are. I’m onlly running one park. Aldereist recently posted that the occurences of single versas double chests is purely a matter of luck. So my perception may be wrong.
I want to use my rift cave to try for some dragons I’m missing. A lot of them require the Hidden element, which I don’t have in the Rift. Is there a way to try for a hidden dragon in the rift?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe you’ll warm up to buying the mysterious ones.
I think I'll go ahead and name my Zipzap dragon Ziploc when I get one. Most of my dragons have silly names anyway. Like Taco, Velcro and Pudding. I even have a pair named Creeper and Peeper, and another pair named Flitter and Flutter. So Ziploc will fit right in. 😊
I started DV (has it already been 17 months?) naming my dragons with word associations/pop culture references, but then I could not find them when scrolling through the list (Wick was up in the Js and Iceberg was down in the Ts). Now that I have lots of dragons, I use search all the time so I've gone back to my initial naming convention. Just a few to make you giggle... or wonder... or both.
Cat Scratch (Fever)
(Glacier) National Park
John (Wick)
Grease (Lightning)
Titanic (Iceberg)
Rockets Red (Glare)
Apollo 11 (Moon)
I cannot unsee Ziploc - so that will be Zipzap's name!
DragonMoonX - "Pudding!" Supernatural fan, by any chance?
Frons is 0,7%. I don't have any of the 0.7% rifted :/
The odds there’s aren’t accurate. If they were, I won’t encounter a single so-called rare golden hybrid.
They're based on # of dragons in the pool. The larger the pool, the lower the chance for an individual dragon. It affects some things less but it absolutely wrecks epics.

Because your wish has been granted!
Good news for those that want it. But DV has always been a dragon breeding game for me. :-)
Monolith and Snowflake dragons originally were not able to be single parent bred, so you had to buy two of them in a corresponding event. This has evolved to allow single parent breeding so that you can use one Mono/Snow and parent clone it. Once you had two, you could then bred all of them.
The rift added a new dimension to DV and because of the Mono/Snow breeding requirements BFS had to make a way to allow Mono/Snow dragons in the rift. They did this with the introduction of Mono/Snow mystery eggs.
You only need to buy one egg Fletch_smf (providing it is traited ) and then you can breed all the others. Otherwise you will have to wait to strike it lucky on the Daily Rewards and get a traited Mono/Snow that way.

I'm guessing the "full chance" for Apex would be 1%, but 0,7% is the highest you can get. Further, even if the real values were 0,8% and 1,4% (doubled), it's most likely they'll stay proportional between combos. Getting the target epic when 4 elements involved is less hard than 5 or 6.
No-one is receiving Soul Shards. Dragon Draw is under maintenance.
Thanks. I guess the players are all of us.
Should have clarified there; DECA's response was to the people who already own the Summoning Circle that have already lost the opportunity to collect more than 5 shards because shards can't be spent.
Weird sentence structure there, sorry. Essentially the people who already have the Summoning Circle have lost the ability to collect 5+ shards a day because of already owning the Circle without being able to spend shards and clear the cap.

I feel your pain. I’ve gotten two un-traited Apexes (Apices?) in my Rift so far. Frustrating, but I’m just going to keep pressing on. I’m a Mountain Sun guy, so I’m counting on a properly traited Apex to be a team player and show up in my park. Koalas to you in your breeding, @jacquirebriggs !
What combo are you using for Apex? I’m using Minchi and Arid, been trying to 10,000 everyday and still nothing, not even a nonrifted 😕
I've been using Karroot and Alpenglow, both level 20. And in fact, I just got my third non-rifted Apex as I'm writing this. Sigh...

I still don't understand it. What are people spending shards on with no circle? How can they clear the cap?

Oh, I think I get it now. We already have the full 60 from the tutorial, but the non-owners had theirs fill slowly. No shards lost, though.

That's the problem- people can't clear the cap or spend shards, but the collection values keep decreasing from ownership of the Circle.
25 shards for the first week down the drain because the cap cannot be cleared in order to collect.

Nah, the non-owners cannot collect shards at all and thus do not have to worry about the collection values decreasing since the amount depends on how long the Circle has been owned, to my understanding.

Yeah, what confused me was opportunity or the implication that anyone has been actively getting shards. We're all in the same boat from day 3, so it really is all players.
Yeah. No one who owns it can collect shards, and their shard collection amounts are now 10.
But non-owners who will buy the Circle upon rerelease will start at the 25 while current owners lost that opportunity.
Really? That sounds easy to fix, at least. They just need to add a hidden pseudo-event so it's active for all.
It doesn't sound hard at all- all DECA has to do is reset the collection amounts for everyone once the Circle is rereleased. Coding-wise I have no idea how difficult it would be though...

We're all in the same boat now for sure- my worry is once the Circle is rereleased and new owners can collect 25/day but old owners are stuck with 5/day.

Like hidden double days. Factor is x5 day x-y with a max at 25... x2 days x4-y4, etc.
That would definitely work too as long as they specify in-code that the max for everyone is 25- wouldn't require a complete collection amount reset but might take some time to implement.
