Yes, it is supposed to be guaranteed to be one you do not own unless DECA changed the odds this event. You do have to go to the correct day or night chest and also pull new ones from gifts so you do not get duplicates. Also people with slow internet should give a bit more time than others that have fast internet to give the game time to catch up between purchases. I would contact DECA and ask.

Blew through my gem stash to buy seconds of dragons that have returned for the week. Started at over 15,000, now down to just under 9,000. Not too shabby I’d say - plus all the purchases netted me extra candy for later!

I think I’ve discovered the problem. The Summoning Chest of Night and Summoning Chest of Day contain different decorations. The Flame of Corruption decos are split between the two Chests. The orange Flame of Corruption is in the Day Chest, not the Night.
I am so sorry about that, LynnMarie! Deca used the same Chests from Candy Bash V (2018), because that’s the only Hallowe’en event that had the guaranteed chest. They didn’t alter the Chests or the no duplicate guarantee. There are two Chests because the 2018 event had a night/day theme that changed every 12 hours with the Twilight Tower. During night, only the Night Chest was available; during the day, only the Day Chest.

Last event we had to chose among some dragons. Will it be the same in this one? And if yes do we know which ones?

Oh my gosh! I can’t believe I didn’t notice that or read it all the way! Makes total sense, 36 decorations in the two chests together 🤦🏻♀️ All that extra candy I wasted! Oh well, I didn’t need the extra cavities anyway! 😁😆

There was a leak in the game on Friday and again today. It is a spoiler, but since members have already begun posting about it, and the FB Game Rep confirmed that she has posted it in her community, and the Discord admin has as well, I’ll go ahead and post it here so our community is in the loop. But it’ll be under a spoiler tag so you can choose whether you want to see it or not.
The leaked content has caused some confusion, so hopefully this post will help answer any questions and prevent players from spending gems or Candy on evolve decorations that are not available.
Deca is aware of the leaks and have addressed most of them already.
Also, all members who posted about the spoiler will be under this spoiler tag and their original post removed.

On Friday, there was an Evolve button on Scout’s profile that opened this pop-up
It appears there may be a new evolve dragon. And perhaps the 'Spirit dragon + hidden element dragon' breeding pair was scrapped for Tent evolve decorations (❓). I have no information on how to obtain the decorations. Also, be aware any or all of this information could easily be changed, so take it with a salty grain.

Had an exclamation sign next to the Goals button. It says I should breeed an Umbra dragon… so they did it again, of course you cannot breed a dragon which will be issued next Thursday probably.
What is an umbra dragon? I have a new goal for one. It says it can only be achieved by the proper ritual. I’m also still breathing fire, so I’m leaning towards an oops for the next limited.

What tents? I have a goal to get an umbra dragon, but nothing about tents. I do assume the umbra dragon will need to be evolved from some other dragon and that's the ritual reference. But i missed the tent request.

The breeding hint has now been removed. Only the egg in the goals section remains as of now. This is better though because I didn’t want players to waste gems trying to get items in the games that are not available right now.

Is the animation different between the three different habitats, or just the size and color?
The animation isn’t different. The musical notes float and 'play'. It’s just the design on the base of the habitat and the size and colour that’s unique.

[I guess I was more wondering what the cost will be to upgrade these habitats once the event is over and there is no more event currency. I guess we won't know until the event is over.
I’ve asked Deca several times about the availability, price, and upgrade cost of the Melody habitats after the event. Still no word. I’ll ask again, but they may not want to reveal that info.
For me, the habitats are so innovative and different that I really wanted one of each. After this event, we’ll probably only have 3-4 dragons that can reside in the Melody habitats. I don’t mind hibernating duplicates, so I don’t have a need for three giant habitats. If there’s a lot of Melody dragons in upcoming events, the habitat will be in the event market, and hopefully, Deca will raise the limit. Then, I’ll purchase more giant versions. But I’ll always want at least one of every size.

I've been fortunate enough to breed one each rifted and non-rifted Heavy Metal dragons. I have my non-rifted in the coop to try for a second/twin and I've put the rifted one into one of my lovely new Music habitats so I can see him/her in all his/her magnificence.
My question is this: To take advantage of the quick rift breeding, should I move my rifted Heavy Metal back to the rift to use for breeding, or stick to the Thrasher/Wrath combo. If I use Heavy Metal, which dragon is best to pair it with?

The breeding combo is best until you use two of the same. I have bred two in the rift using the combo, but sadly both were untraited.

Heavy Metal breeding percentages for the breeding combo and cloning with one Heavy Metal dragon
Breeding hint (THRASHER + WRATH): 3.8%
Percentages to clone Heavy Metal with one Heavy Metal dragon (cloning odds vary with location):
Rift: 5% Enchanted/Epic: 5% Cooperative: 1.5%
So it’s better to move your traited Heavy Metal dragon into the Rift and clone it. As far as the best combos, you’ll want long fails for maximum Candy.
That makes Lodestone and Iron Blossom the tops, but it’s probably more beneficial to just go with any of the listed dragons in the sandbox that you have levelled up the highest and don’t add extra breeding fails.

Thanks for that advice. I shall put him/her ba k into the rift as soon as he/she wakes up in the morning and then he/she can go back into a different Melody habitat until he/she's found which one he/she likes best.

Yes, thanks to MinyaZ, I used this combo earlier and was able to clone one in 3 tries, whereas I was doing Love + Pepper for 4 days without success.
There weren't ANY evo decorations purchaseable in my park when the event started, and there aren't any now.
I meant they used to sell for candy in previous event after winning them. This makes up for the dupes fails you get. And now... they sell for cash. And only cash.
Since there isn't even a toy chest available, I'll be IMPOSSIBLE to get rifted Wrath unless you have it to start with.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF NOT HAVING AWAY TO GET THE TENDRIL DECORATIONS AND NOT BEING ABLE PURCHASE THE WRATH DRAGON. WE SHOULD HAVE BOTH OPTIONS.
The summoning chest of night has the tendrils. The evolve dragons have always been set up that you can’t buy them or clone using only one. You must complete the ritual to evolve a dragon into another.
