If there is a dragon you would like but it is not listed in the Forum’s avatars, you can request it on the General DragonVale thread. Please provide the name of the dragon, and whether you would like the baby, juvenile, or adult version. If the dragon has several forms (day/night, enhancements), specify the version you prefer. All images are uploaded from DragonVale Wiki. Please check the image on wiki first to be sure it’s acceptable.

You can receive two types of notifications, (1) forum notifications and (2) push notifications via email.
Forum Notifications
When you receive a Forum notification a badge will appear over the button on the navigation bar. For example, when someone sends you a new private message, a badge will appear with the number '1' on the Messages button, letting you know there’s one new PM.
Email Notifications
If you set up email notifications, you can receive push notifications for a variety of different actions. The reliability of email notifications varies from user to user, depending on the device, PC, and email provider.
HOW TO SELECT TYPES OF NOTIFICATIONS
On the navigation bar, click Profile and press the Edit Profile button.
On the Notification tab, there’s a series of checkboxes in two columns. Checking the boxes in the left column will allow you to receive notifications that will show as a badge on the Profile button on the navigation bar.
Checking the boxes in the right hand column will also allow you to receive an email push notification for the options you checked.
You can choose to receive both forum and email notifications for certain actions. Below is a list of the most popular notifications types with a brief description:
• When someone likes your content: notification when someone has liked a post you made on the Forum
• When someone quotes you: notification when someone replies to you by quoting your forum post
• When someone tags you: notification when someone mentions you by using your forum name (e.g., username ) and a link to the post where you were tagged
• When someone follows you: notification when a member has followed your profile activity
• When someone becomes your friend: if you are following a member and they follow you back, you will become friends on the forum and will receive a notification
• When a bookmark is updated: if you use the Forum’s bookmarking feature, you will be notified when a topic you have bookmarked has been updated
• When a thread you have participated in is updated: notification if someone posts in a thread you had previously posted in (if the notification is sent by email, you will receive at most one email per day containing a list of all updated threads)
• When you receive a Personal Message: notification if you’ve been sent a new PM conversation, or if there’s been a reply to an existing PM conversation
Once you have set your options, click the Save Notification Settings button.
Notification Frequency (Only Applies to Email Notifications)
You can control the frequency of email/push notifications. Here’s a description of each type of delivery.
• Smart: only emails you once per item on the forum until you've viewed the item you're being notified about (if you were notified about a thread you wouldn't receive any further updates about that thread until you visited the forum and viewed the thread)
• Instant: emails you every time a notification is triggered
• Daily: only emails you once per day for all the day's notifications
• Weekly: only emails you once per week of all the week's notifications (a week is Monday thru Sunday)
• Never: never receive an email notification
Other Types of Notifications
ProBoards push notifications can also be set up through the Tapatalk app. You can select notifications for specific threads and other actions. For mobile users, Tapatalk tends to be more reliable than email notifications. The app also allows users to post, although you’ll be viewing the Forum in its mobile version, so many of the Forum’s features will not be available. It’s advisable to use the Desktop version, which is easily accessible on a mobile device. Open the Forum on your browser, and press Desktop in the lower right corner of any Forum page.

Members can private message other members by clicking on their username in their mini-profile, or by clicking on Members on the navigation bar and in the searching bar, typing their username or display name.
In the Member List, tap the member’s name and their profile will show. Select the Send Message button.
The Create Message page will open. It is very similar to the posting page. Include a title for your message in the Subject line. When you’re done writing your message, press the Create Message button.

On 27 January 2022, some dragon friends joined the Forum. The Forum can sometimes have lengthy pages with long posts and lots of images. To help you navigate a little faster, Davinese and Fissure are here to give you a hand.
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see either endearing Davinese jumping UP in an effort to fly, or delightful Fissure cracking DOWN on the surface. If you click on Davinese, you’ll be sent soaring to the top of the page.
If you click on Fissure, you’ll be directed down to the bottom of the page. This means Fissure is only visible at the top of the page.
You can also return to the top of the page by using the Home button on your computer keyboard, and on an iPad or iPhone, tap the top of the screen. There’s also the slightly cumbersome gear icon on each Forum post, click it and in the drop-down menu select Back to Top.
But none of these options include dragons. So clearly it was very necessary to add the upward Davinese and the downward Fissure.

Note: If you accidentally type the spoiler BBCode (or any BBCode) in the Preview tab, just switch to the BBCode tab, then back to Preview, to get the BBCode to take. You don’t need to retype your post in the BBCode tab.

At the start of each event I update the Forum’s theme so there’s a new banner and background images, and colour scheme for the font, pages, links, buttons, bars, etc. Sometimes the the theme is dark (dark background, light letters) and sometimes it’s a light theme (light background, dark letters). If a member prefers a different theme or has difficulty with the colours, they can change the theme in their Profile settings. You must be a Forum member and logged in to use the Change Theme feature because guests do not have profiles.
On the navigation bar, click Profile and press the Edit Profile button.
Select the Settings tab and under Forum Themes you’ll see a drop-down box with the available themes.
• 10 Years: Light theme - DragonVale’s 10th Anniversary • Candy Bash IX: Dark theme - Halloween theme from October 2022 • Current Event: Default theme that changes with each event and is visible to guests
Select the theme you want and press the Save Account Settings button.
All accounts, guests, and members who are not logged in will see the Default theme unless the member changes it. If you switch the theme, it will be saved in your profile settings, so every time you login the theme you selected will display. You will not need to continually change it.
Important: If you’ve selected a theme that isn’t the Default, when the theme is updated at the beginning of the event, you’ll still see your selected theme. You will need to switch to Default to see the new theme.

On 6 April 2022, to celebrate the Forum’s 10th anniversary, the Forum’s age was added to the Forum Information & Statistics section at the bottom of the Home page. There’s no time like your 10th birthday to start showing your age. Now everyone can keep track of the Forum’s special day. And a very special friend oversees each passing hour — the much beloved baby Dargon.
UPDATE
I flipped Dargon so he can watch the time and keep a closer eye on his upcoming April Fool’s release date (and the Forum’s birthday)
