Can't seem to get enough attraction flowers to get that last event butterfly. Oh well. At least I don't obsess over this game like I did over DV
if you focus on perfecting the silver stripe, it’s ability is giving you three random event flowers. The last event butterfly had a pretty chrysalis. I wish I could collect it like a pedestal

Do you mean the Kaishi large silver stripe ? Cos I can’t see that description with any of the current Kaishi event butterflies...they each have other ability descriptions...

Yes. The attraction flowers were in the envelopes
Yesterday I got flutter bucks instead of flowers. I won’t perfect the set in time

I managed to get one of each Kaishi butterfly, but not all those needed to fuse them to max level. So I suppose that doesn't count as 'complete'.
Now the event is over, I suppose they'll have to remain lonesome until next year?

The final butterfly is an egg layer. It’s worth leveling those up, even with flutterbucks, even a little at a time. Get one of these leveled up and in the future use it to lay eggs of other egg laying butterflies. Those are the best to have for either flower events or wisp events. I have 4 so far and they’re available every 7 days. I used mine to lay eggs of this event’s egg layer to fully level it.
Between events use them to level up butterflies with other special abilities or even make duplicates.

Let me get this straight. My last butterfly was a Green Hair Streak. I can buy an egg for 50 flutterbucks to fuse with it. Is that a good idea? Would I then buy another egg to get to the next level etc.?
I have other lonesome butterflies I could perhaps do the same with?
I'm getting the hang of selling of unwanted stock, but I have a long way to go!
cecilia The last one released from the event, the redbreast swallowtail, is the egg laying butterfly. If you were able to get that one, it’s worth fully leveling up.
The green flash hairstreak will give you 3 barkbugs once fully leveled. I wouldn’t use my flutter bucks on that one.
Here is a link to a Facebook group for flutter butterfly and flutter starlight players. They have some very helpful information, especially for the events. I’ve been a member for a while and I’m still learning new things from the group. 😊

Sorry to be so thick, but I'm still confused. I did get a redbreast swallowtail, and I see now I can buy an egg for something like 250 flutterbucks. But when I touch ALL my butterflies, I get the option for them to lay an egg, so should I try to buy eggs for all my lonesome butterflies. Is there a special significance in getting the event butterflies to top level.
I've joined the suggested Facebook group, but they haven't sussed me out yet to let me read the posts.
I'm so glad that Dragonvale is continuing with new owners (must do a bit of a tidy up), but I'll still keep on with the butterflies - and the moths, although they don't seem to be quite as active as the butterflies.

The event butterflies usually have the best abilities. If you look in the flutterpedia book, it will show each butterfly’s ability at the bottom of the page. I recommend not buying eggs with flutterbucks except to level up egg laying butterflies. Once you have egg layers, you can easily clone the other butterflies you have without spending those hard to get flutterbucks. Fully leveled egg layers can even clone themselves! (However, they won’t lay eggs of visiting butterflies.)
Im looking forward to seeing what the new owners have in store for DV. I hope at least some of the BFS crew are kept on board.

I have a Purple Owl Butterfly and its special ability is that all nearby butterflies become ready instantly. I don't understand what this means. If it has any affect on the other butterflies, I'm not seeing it. I did join the FB group. Thanks for the info. Dreamn.

You’re welcome 😊
The purple owl butterfly makes nearby butterflies ready to harvest for honeydew. It only affects butterflies close to it. Move it to an area with several butterflies before using its ability. Then those nearby butterflies will be ready to tap for honeydew.
The events don’t repeat but the event butterflies do occasionally visit your forest. You will have the option to buy an egg at a really high price from visiting butterflies. Try to get the egg layers from the events. Then you can complete the event sets much easier. If you complete the set after the event you will still get the decorative flowers. If you complete the set and level up all the event butterflies to max level before the event ends, the final butterfly has an alternate form and it’s ability is available every 5 days instead of 7 days.
Starlight has a new event with flowers drifting all over the place and wee spooky creatures that we're supposed to catch - but HOW? I do wish they would give a clue or two whe they throw something like this in front of us newbies!

Welcome to your first wisp event! How to play: tap settings;tap the “?” ; scroll down to “limited time events”; tap “what are wisp events”.
Not a very big fan of starlight but will do my best to help. Oh, and don’t worry about the falling flower petals, it’s just for looks.
In Starlight the moths do not have abilities. The special abilities come from the flowers which can be placed in decoration spots.
To capture a wisp just tap on it. You’ll get the option to try and capture it, or to capture it using glowbucks. Captured wisps give you flowers. You need to fuse the flowers just like in Flutter. Place a 100% flower to attract the moth. Hatch the eggs, feed, turn into moths. First moth of each variety go ahead and feed pollen. Second moth: fuse to first before feeding.
Get one of each moth to earn the first event flower. Completely level up each moth from the set for the second flower. For the final flower you must completely level up each event moth before the end of the event.

Since I started playing not that long ago, I don't have much room for many butterflies since clearing foliage is a slow task. Do you think it's better to wait until I have more space or to breed and store until I can expand? Thanks for any input.

I store the ones that earn the least. If they aren’t fully leveled you can always move them back to fuse when you get a matching butterfly.
As I got further along I sold the ones that didn’t earn much and had no special abilities.
I made a huge discovery today! I didn't realise that I could fuse my many low level flowers to get higher level ones. I've been constantly using 10% flowers, but with so many of them I was able to fuse a couple to the highest level. Sadly the ones I had most of I no longer need as all the butterflies/moths in those regions are at the highest level - so I sold them all. I just hope new butterflies/moths don't get added to those regions.
I have learned a tip from the Facebook page for the game. Event flowers appear whenever you harvest butterflies. So to harvest butterflies often, you want many nonfused pale sulfur butterflies (30 sec. harvest time) Specifically, nonfused.
