Due to the crashes, some players were unable to play or had difficulty playing DragonVale. As a result, Deca Games has extended Puffles’ release for another week. Puffles will now remain in the Vale until Friday, June 10th.
Happy Koalapuff to all!
Many thanks to CalliAlli for suggesting the extension, and VibeLily and Deca Games for getting it done!
PS: Deca is still working on the crashes 🛠
TYSM for this BIG news! I’m really glad Puffles will be available for another week. One of my alt parks is having a hard time catching this sheep
I’ve been trying for a rift Lightmare dragon for a while, but when I saw today Fletch’s comment from a couple of days ago, I realized I’m using the wrong combo. Sandbox says Lightmare is Moon and a dragon with light and air elements, but the Wiki says Moon and Dream, which is what Fletch said. Maybe I’ve been having no koalas because I’m using the wrong combo. Doh!
There are some technical difficulties and the new release isn’t showing in the event market… Deca is looking into right now.

A few of the dragons from that event got breeding combos changed. MOON + DREAM is the correct combo now, but even with that odds are really low so it might take some time. Koala

Lightmare’s combo was changed at the end of its event. The in-game breeding hint is always correct, and wiki’s dragon pages are also kept up to date. I don’t think the sandbox had a chance to update. Sorry about that!

The pain.... finally managing to get the stupid ruffles dragon in the rift... whattayaknow, traitless, of course.... Also apparently I completely wasted my breeds in the rift as the new dragon IS actually available today, and here I thought I had miscalculated somehow and it was tomorrow. Terrible start to the day
At the centre ring, Guiseppe announced the main act, 'Wizards and witches and dragons of all kinds, step right up to the greatest show in the Vale!' The spotlight fell on the magnificent PRESTINA. 'Prestina', whispered Guiseppe, 'where is Prestige?' Presina gave him a tired look, 'That was sooo last year'. Guiseppe nodded and announced, '... even greater than before, the unstoppable and untoppable, Prestina!' The crowd roared and rose to their feet, and the big top was filled with infinite cheer.
Prestina is in the co-op impressing everyone! Koala magic to all!

Only problem is that I've run out of room in my giant moon habitat where Prestige is kept. Might have to move things around a bit or drag out some new habitats from storage.

I like the Prestige/Prestina pair. They’re like brother and sister. I wonder if they’ll get in each other’s way performing their tricks in a shared habitat.

i had that same problem for the first half of this event. I’ve started double checking the breeding hints and the resources here. This is day nine of Moon and Dream in the Rift with no Lightmare in sight 😩😫🤦♀️

I don't really see them as brother and sister. In my mind, it's actually one dragon who performs as both male and female, like the costume dragons who use different pieces to dress up. I like to think that that's the secret behind the trick. And while I'm probably wrong about it being one dragon, I like the idea of a dragon in costume who performs as male and female. Kinda nice, when you stop and think about. 😊❤️

The greatest magicians are the wizards who seemingly only breed twins, like Tornorr the Twinorr and The Luminous Liza. Once again, they pull a twin out of a hat! Thank you x two x two, liza and tornorr! Glamorous gems and magic trick treats are appearing in your Vale.
(I believe I’ve gifted gems and treats to everyone who sent twins of the new event dragons. But with no twin push notification and crashes affecting gifts, if you haven’t received gems and treats, please message me. Thank you very much!)

I like the idea of Prestina and Prestige being the same dragon too. But I see Prestina as a much better version of Prestige.
A question - with apologies in advance if I am opening a can of worms. Just consider the source.
Earlier in this event I learned that when breeding traited dragons, the Rift contributes an additional unknown element of its own to the breeding pair which is how I was able to acquire a four element dragon (Triple Rainbow) from a three element breeding combo of Coal and Air Rift.
QUESTION: Are the odds of breeding success in the Rift better by:
1. supplying two dragons that are deliberately one element short of the requirement and letting the Rift element contribute the missing element,
-OR-
2. supplying two dragons that provide all the required elements with the Rift element providing an additional unneeded element?
EXAMPLE: I want to acquire a three element Riptide dragon in the Rift which requires Water, Dark, and Air elements. Am I better off breeding Water Rift and Air Rift (with the Rift element supplying the missing Dark element) or breeding Bubble (Air and Water elements) with Dark Rift?
According to Quil’s Compendium, Riptide does not show up in the results when breeding Water Rift with Air Rift. The only dragons in the results are those with the Water and Air elements. When I breed Bubble with Dark Rift, Riptide does show up in the results, but Rainbow, Double Rainbow, and Triple Rainbow also show up and the rainbows are all four element dragons.
Am I missing something here? Does anyone have an easy answer to this Rift breeding question? Thanks for reading this far.

You need to know that the element that the rift provides is for giving traits to dragons, it does not count as an element needed for breeding. You will not get a Riptide without providing air, water and dark from dragons. Never use the rift traits/element of the day for breeding requirements unless the breeding hint specifically requires a certain trait.

Obijuan, the Rift is an element, in the same way that treasure is an element for the Treasure dragons, or dream is an element for the Dream dragons. They are not a primary elements.
That’s why earlier in the event, when you bred Coal + Cold Rift in the Rift, you received Triple Rainbow. The two dragons have a total of three elements, and the Rift contributed the fourth element. Similarly, in the Vale, you can breed Gold (which contributes fire, metal, and treasure) + Air, and end up with Triple Rainbow. Gold’s treasure element adds the fourth element to meet Triple Rainbow’s breeding requirement.
Breeding in the Rift isn’t any different than breeding in the Vale, except that the Rift element is added to every breed, so there’s a chance you could end up with a traited dragon.
As far as breeding percentages go, sometimes the Rift percentages are slightly different from the Vale (usually for cloning), but that depends on each dragon. There isn’t a set rule that the Vale percentage is higher or lower than the Rift percentage.

Not a bug or glitch but an observation… Over the last few Events it seems to me the the number of Vortexes (VortIces?) in the Rift has lessened. Anyone else notice this? I don’t know how many there are/were in the first place. Not important, just curious.

There are 12 swirling Rift vortices each day at reset. I haven’t noticed a decrease. I’m still receiving a dozen.

I'm still getting connection errors. Have they not fixed this or is it just me?
oomagooma25, I’ve moved your post to the Bugs and Glitches thread and responded to it there.
