the question is, when selecting other dragons to suggest based on the quests elements, should a dragon's hidden elements be considered, or are those strictly for breeding? it seems like they were considered before, which seems weird now. but perhaps it is that way, and i've just forgotten in the years since. e.g. for the quest cold sweat, the ideal dragon is fever. but if you don't have fever, try a dragon with cold + fire. is it reasonable to include rainbow among those suggestions?
I admit, I’m a little sad I didn’t come close to answering your question. 😄
No, the epic dragon’s hidden elements are not considered when fulfilling the elements on the quests. So, if you sent Rainbow on Fever’s Cold Sweat quest, you’d end up with treats. Only a dragon with cold and/or fire on its profile card could be used to receive one chest. And of course, only Fever will grant two chests.
Did you already update the quest filter in the sandbox? If so, I’ll let the reps know. Since I don’t know how the quests displayed previously, I can’t tell if it was changed or not. Cheers!

drow, I received more info from the Discord rep about the changes to the sandbox’s Quests page. And he provided a screenshot!
Apparently, under Quests, you could select primary elements, and a list of epic dragons with those hidden primary elements would display. Players weren’t using this feature to find quests, they were using it to find and list the hidden elements for epic dragons.
Here’s a screenshot of how the old sandbox used to list the epic dragons when all 10 primary elements were chosen.
If you select 10 elements now, in the current version of the sandbox, no dragons show.
I can see why players liked this feature a lot. There isn’t any other resource that will populate a list of epic dragons based on the hidden elements. I have this information in a notebook. It would definitely be more handy in the sandbox. ❣️

okay, but not on the quests page. i'll work something out.
Yes, I agree, it doesn’t really fit Quests. Maybe hide the hidden elements in a crossword!
Thank you so much, Drow! ❤️

The Compendium does this under the filter option! But I can certainly see this being more useful on a easily searched webpage.

Oh sorry about that Quil! No disrespect to you or the Compendium. I think players just get in the habit of using a resource for its reliability and familiarity. So when they noticed the sandbox was missing a feature they liked it was disappointing. For me, I’ve always used wiki to look up quests. Since wiki is reliable, I never needed to seek out another resource. I know some people prefer using one source for everything, but others don’t mind a variety, as long as the information is up to date.
I definitely refer to the Compendium for percentages. On a PC, the Compendium works flawlessly, but I’m not always near a computer. I can’t really use the Compendium on a phone; it’s too large. On a tablet (iPad Pro), it works well, but the dropdown menus can be finicky. So I have a tendency to keep the Compendium set to Dragonarium to display all the dragons and minimise the use of dropdowns. Not the most efficient thing in the world, but it works well until I can get to a larger screen.

Thank you so very much, Drow! This is absolutely delicious! Far more than anyone expected or could’ve asked for. I love how players can select 'all' or 'any' of the elements, and the hidden elements or the profile card elements (habitats), and the hidden elements + the epic element to further narrow the list.
Mind blown.
So now players have a choice and can use the Compendium or the Sandbox.
Sweet baby Fire dragon!

I just noticed we can now sort the All Dragons results by Name, Breeding Time, and Number of Elements. Yowzers! 🎉

I was totally thinking the other day that it would be so great if “All Dragons” had the hidden elements. You read my mind! Lol I see you didn’t read mind but that other players asked for it, but the timing was really incredible! I like all the new option. This is so helpful - thank you!
drow:I’m trying to see if it is better to convert my twin spectre to a ghostly twin and then need to get a twin spectre. But both the odds for making a spectre or a ghostly spectre from two like parents are greater than 100%. Is the parent finder broken or is it really 130% to breed a spectre if you breed two spectres together? I hope this makes sense.

The numbers on the sandbox have never been 'accurate' odds, they take a best guess approach based on parents, rarity, number of results, etc. Showing over 100% is likely a bug that may need looking into by Drow.
If you're wondering the odds of getting a spectre from 2 spectre parents in the co-op cave, so that you can try for twins, it's 10% with 2 spectre parents (1.5% with one). For ghostly spectre, it's 20% for two ghostly spectre parents (10% for one). So it'll be easier to get a new twin ghostly spectre than a new twin spectre. I think that's what you were asking, and hope it answers your question!

Yes. Thanks so much. I should’ve checked the compendium as well. I’ll chalk it up to fuzzy thinking.

if anything's over 100%, it has to be a bug. this is in the parent finder?

Yes, in the parent finder. It’s not 130% anymore, but still 104.9% for spectre and 101.7% for ghostly spectre. I have screen shots, but I’ve never figured out the hosting stuff for pics and can’t do it now. Sorry, Covid brain. Hopefully it will do it for you. If not, let me know and I will try to post pics.

no pics needed, thanks!
i've sorted out what was happening, fixed the code, and regenerated all the backend data.
the percentages are still going to be different than the compendium, since i'm using a different set of assumptions and calculations, but at least its less than 100%
drow, the sandbox is displaying all the pages in one row again, although this time it’s not just the mobile version.
I know a lot of players will be using the sandbox at reset. 😊
