It doesn’t create a twin, but it should give an extra level. Make sure that you’re not mixing up dark and metal egg colours, because I’ve done that before.

I haven’t heard any complaints about receiving duplicate decorations from the chests in the event market. Be sure you don’t have any decorations in your Gifts and they’re all placed in your park. The two chests (Day and Night) in the Market contain different decorations. In the past, players have complained about receiving duplicates, because they kept purchasing decorations from the same chest. If you have all the decos in one chest, you’ll start receiving dupes. Switch to the other chest, to obtain the remaining unowned decos. Players need to read the chest descriptions to know which deco is in which chest.

This is the reason why they’re getting duplicates. I remember seeing people complain about this last year and sure enough they were buying the wrong chest.

The decoration chests in the event tiers have given unique decorations for a very long time. Originally they may have given duplicates but that made it too hard for players to complete their collection. If players are spending event currency, it is not unreasonable to expect a unique decoration.

The decos in the event market chest have always given an unowned decoration. It hasn’t changed. But since it’s expensive to buy all the decorations from the chest, most people play the mini games. If you buy an extra play you are guaranteed a chest if you win, but the chest can have duplicate decos or no decos. Still, it’s worth it to spend the gems and play the mini games to get as many decos as you can because you’ll also get candy, DC, treats, and maybe a mystery egg. You can also sell your duplicates for candy. Then at the end of the event you only have to buy a couple chests from the market.
(I know you know this, just thought the advice might help other players who are starting to collect the decos.)
Thank you to Deca for the Double Rift Extravaganza days. Can the double rift days become part of all double days in the Vale? The income side of the Rift needs to inflate along with the expense side in order to maintain a viable Rift economy.

I'm trying to decide if I should keep trying or if I should just to move onto others that I don't have in there. I remember last year not being able to breed it in my EBC. The one I do have I got with my final gift.

Eldritch only has a 0.2% breeding percentage. With the number of possible fails, this rate drops even lower.
I would buy Eldritch and try and breed other dragons that have a higher breeding percentage. 🐨🐨🐨🐨

I asked Deca if they could reinstate the Double Rift Extravaganza, and I did suggest it be run frequently and during Double Days.

It's theoretically possible to breed Eldritch in one lifetime, but I wouldn't bet on it. As MinyaZ said, buy this one and spend your breeds on something else more productive. It's a shame because Eldritch is one of my favorite dragons.

I don’t think you can get traited ones, but if you use your normal one and get a twin in the coop, then you can request a traited one for the final day prize?

Yep, you're right. It does not look like you can get a traited dragon from the wishing well. I can try for a twin--much better odds. Good idea. Anyone want to share an Eldritch?
Hi Elizabeth! I’m trying to get a twin Eldritch in my alt park for the same reason! I figured if I have a twin when the Runic Caves come back I can claim a traited twin, unless Eldritch is a dragon we can pick from the rewards, which is even better!

I got my Eldritch with a trait via the Runic Caves. Looking at my breeding history, I have had 6 Eldritch's and only one of these has been incubated. I bought so many put the shrouds on them. 😊

An Eldritch on the first try?!?!? Can I commission you to buy some lottery tickets for me? Seriously, my daughter tried for Eldritch daily in the co-op cave for almost THREE MONTHS before giving up. About six months later she got one for free from Deca in the daily prize giveaway. I have a love-hate relationship with the breeding aspect in DV. Congrats, BTW.
