When you have finished the Eggy Hatchy towers and your tickets are back to 5, don't forget to watch a 'vision' (ad) to receive another ticket. It will give you a head start the next day. 😉
Thanks for the reminder! I’d forgotten about that.
I have an update for the page that lists Twilight Tower themes whenever it’s convenient. Day should be listed as one of the daytime themes and Foreboding should be added to the list of nighttime themes. There are now 24 Twilight Themes. Thanks.
Has the possibility of changing the amount it costs to upgrade a habitat like the omnitat ever been brought up to DECA? I'd like to upgrade mine to the large, but it doesn't make sense for them to charge the same amount of event currency whether upgrading or buying outright. It would be awesome if it was just the difference between them.
Though I also dislike the feature, I think the reason why it costs the same to upgrade is because the cost to upgrade a habitat has always been equal to the price of the upgraded habitat in the Market.
For example, the Aura Habitat costs 35 gems and the Large Aura Habitat costs 75 gems in the Market, which is why it takes 75 gems to upgrade a regular Aura Habitat to a Large Aura Habitat.
Or the upgrade cost from a Large primary habitat to a Giant Primary Habitat is 25 gems, even though it is the same price in the market, and you can effectively sell it to get back some of that money you paid to build the large habitat.
Habitats from the Event market are the same, except they need the cost to purchase them with event currency rather than gems.
That's a good point!
Though I think my problem with it (personally) is that — unlike habitats that are bought with DC, that you can sell for DC rather than upgrading — habitats that are bought with gems or EC don't give the same currency if sold, so if you change your mind and decide you want a large rather than regular version later on, you effectively pay the full price for both the regular and large version. Whereas with DC habitats you effectively got the regular version half-price if you sell it and get the large variant outright, instead of upgrading regular to large. You can of course get the large version of the gem/EC habitat outright and sell the regular version for DC, but it isn't quite the same, since you've still had to pay the full price for both size variants in the habitat's respective currency.
I hope that's not too ramble-y and confusing, I'm not very good at being concise.
This mechanism is part of a gambit to balance our income of event currency. I suspect DECA would just sharply raise the dragon prices if habitats and decorations became affordable.
I don't want to be a downer, but it's between that and larger variants costing a lot more as a starting price. Habitats are part of event market balancing. If they weren't, it'd be no issue. I'd ask to cut gem upgrade prices outside of events, since, for example, the paradise habitats 75 + 75 is still /plenty/ expensive.
Wait a sec- is Nogard carrying the Sweetheart dragon with one hand? Or is that layering?
Nogard has a Sweetheart hand puppet. Sweetheart was too shy to come to the ball in person. Everyone was having such a good time no-one noticed. 🎉 😊
Oh, that's right! I know Sweetheart and Stoneheart are good friends, so perhaps Stoneheart is keeping Sweetheart company. It's a shame Sweetheart isn't there in per— I mean, in dragon, but I'm glad Sweetheart feels comfortable enough with the wizards and other dragons to say no if a party is too far outside of their comfort zone.

Thank you. I have added Foreboding to the list of nighttime themes. It must have fallen off the list. 😊
The Day theme is showing separately under Local Time as it is indicates the players local time instead of daytime only. So with the Day theme selected 7am-7pm is Day and 7pm-7am is Night in the Vale.
All other themes when selected using the Twilight Tower 'fix' the time permanently - it is either Day or Night.

Sadly, highlighting isn’t an easy button, like bold and italic. You have to add the code in the BBCode tab. This is the code.
[span style="background-color: #ffff00"]highlighted text[/span] #ffff00 is the HEX colour of the highlight. This one is yellow. Since I change the Forum’s theme with every event, sometimes I have to adjust the highlight colour, because it’ll bleach out the text. You can be sure it looks okay by switching to the Preview tab before posting.
Thank you!
I neglected to mention, a much, much easier way of highlighting is to select the text, then change the colour of the font. It’s far faster, just as effective, and doesn’t require adding any code to the post.

This is what I do. I know adlerist manually adds a lot of code so it’s become very fast, but if you’re like me and you don’t usually add code to your posts, changing the text color is a lot better and really quickly. And you don’t have to worry about the the highlight being the wrong color for the theme, just pick a color that works. TBH I like this a lot more than highlighting, and it doesn’t take extra time to format.

All habitats follow this pattern. It costs the same to upgrade as it does to purchase the larger habitat because it encourages players to obtain the large habitat, thereby spending more. The larger sized habitat typically doesn’t allow for a lot more dragons or increase the DC cap by much. So players may not feel it’s worth splurging. But if upgrading a small habitat costs the same as purchasing the large, you may be more inclined to buy it.
Deca recently revisited the prices of the epic habitats at the request of the Game Reps. Overall, they are now more affordable. So, I highly doubt they’ll change the cost to upgrade.
I always obtain the largest sized habitat and use the smaller habitats for aesthetic purposes when decorating.

Yesssss! I looked at the loading screen image for a very long time, trying to figure out what on earth Sweetheart is doing. It appears he is sitting on Nogard’s arm, like an actual parrot. 🦜
I have never seen a dragon interact this way with a human or a wizard. It is the weirdest thing in the world, and I am here for it.

So is it a puppet or a parrot? A puppet parrot? A parrot puppet?

You wouldn't believe how long I've waited to reference this.
I am 98% sure Sweetheart is a parrot, and Nogard is a modern day magical pirate.

I'm no good at art (especially digital art) so can't do it justice, but here is my pathetic attempt at pirate Nogard with parrot Sweetheart from copied images from the wiki:

And Divi as well! Oh dear. I'm strongly tempted to disperse my newly build island, destroy yet another island, merge these as planned to then /create yet another island/. All so, of course, that my Divi can chill with his aura friends ⊙﹏⊙

This is brilliant! I was just about to say, I though Sweetheart was A LOT bigger, so Nogard must be gigantic. You really nailed it with this pic! 😂
