Can you add me so I can look at a couple things in your park? Amos 2171
Thanks, I just added you.

@metaphoricalrobin and adlerist - That makes so much sense, thank you! I’m now not scratching my head so much. I think I do recall possibly using the co-op cave to breed Jet, and that makes the most sense.
I guess I sold some dragons in the rift without thinking much. I appreciate beyond measure your help in solving these mysteries!
I will be much more careful in the rift now. Interesting to know that if you breed and sell a rift dragon you can still unlock the trait for it. I like that! It probably doesn’t work that way if you release them, right?
Thanks again!
It doesn't matter whether it's selling or releasing. They're the same thing besides the difference between getting some amount of DC for it or 100 etherium.
I always release dragons (since I'm not in need of DC and it saves me 1200 etherium every day). I don't hatch any dragons unless they're new or I need them for breeding but there are plenty of hybrids I have pretty much all the traits for.
Two questions: 1. When you breed a dragon in the Rift, do you get Gaia's essence for the amount of time it would take to incubate if it was in the main park? 2. If you do, do Rift-exclusives give Gaia's essence or do they give nothing because they have no incubation time?
Not an important question but something I randomly thought of today.

1. No. Gaia's essence is only given when you hatch an egg from the nursery. 2. See 1. 😉

May i get a baby somnig dragon as a profile icon adlerist? thanks!
Baby Somnig has been added to the Forum’s avatars. What a fantastic choice! The baby is so adorable, slumbering away…
I hope he’s big enough on your profile. Since he’s more horizontal than vertical, I’m not sure how he’ll look. If you’d like the adult or another dragon, please let me know. But I hope baby Soming works perfectly. 😊

Due to a potential limit on the number of friends a player can have before issues arise in the game, I will only be able to add Forum members. Thank you, for your understanding, and please consider joining us!
I might have to betray Sentient Strawberry for logan's great suggestion for a day or two...
I noticed you snagged Logan’s Somnig! 😆
Yeah, he’s definitely not too small — the perfect-sized avatar.

You may have noticed the Solar Eclipse dragon was released today. That’s because a rare hybrid solar eclipse starts tonight, Wednesday, April 19th, at 9.36 pm EDT (0136 GMT on April 20th) and concludes at approximately 2.59 am EDT (0659 GMT) on Thursday, April 20th.
A hybrid solar eclipse shifts from total solar eclipse to annular (ring-shaped) as the moon's shadow moves across the surface of the Earth. To translate into emoji, it will look like this 🌘🌘🌘🌑🌒🌒🌒. On average, hybrid solar eclipses only happen a few times each century. The last one was in 2013, and the next one will occur in 2031. After that, future skywatchers will have to wait until March 23, 2164.
So don’t miss out on this rare celestial event!
If you live in a location that does not favour the eclipse, or if it’s cloudy or the weather is inclement, Gravity Discovery Centre & Observatory near Perth, Australia (which is an ideal location for the eclipse) will host a livestream beginning at 10 pm EDT on April 19th (0200 GMT on April 20th). NASA will also cover the eclipse beginning at 10.30 pm EDT on April 19th (0230 GMT on April 20th). And Timeanddate will be livestreaming the spectacle beginning at 9.30 pm EDT on April 19th (0130 GMT on April 20th). Enjoy!

I know people on the forum tend to have been playing a bit longer, but I just made this post to do with breeding for dragons for someone on the subreddit, and thought it might be useful if I linked it here. Obviously all the info can already be found online but it's helpful for it to be all in one place.

I read through the entire post, and other than the Massive wall of text missing Subheadings between „Exceptions to breeding" and „Redundant elements" I thought this was an amazing reddit post. I think it should also be either pinned, or added to the megathread of the subreddit, as it pretty much answered 95% of the questions that get posted daily.

The problem is that many players don’t want to read through anything or don’t have the patience. If this was pinned on Reddit it wouldn’t lessen the number of questions. Information about the game is available in all the DV communities and wiki. But people find it easier to ask a question instead of hunting for the answer. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame the players. Sometimes it is a lot easier to ask. I prefer to look for the answer because I feel like I might be bugging someone, but all the DV communities exist for people to ask questions. That’s a main part of their purpose. As a result, many players ask the same ones on Reddit like “What egg is this?” and “What should I get with a wish?” and “How do I breed this dragon?”
Were dragons like Plateau, Cumulus etc. available last Circus event (The Dragon Bandwagon)? According to dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/post/219619 they were but they aren't on the wiki page for the event.

They were in the event last year. Cumulus, Plateau, Pond, and Tansy were added later, after the event started; wiki wasn’t updated. Wiki isn’t always current or accurate. MinyaZ wasn’t editing last year 😉. There was a lengthy period of time when there were only a handful of editors, and they were not working on wiki daily, so a lot was missed.
When it comes to event market content, the Forum is far more reliable because we are constantly updating the first page of the event thread. And if incorrect or missing items are listed, members will mention it throughout the course of the event. Also, we have MinyaZ.

Some more questions, sorry. None of them are particularly important, I was just wondering.
1. Is the Expanded Lost Island/Expanded Lost Island of Olympus the same size as a normal island? 2. What is the level needed for max DC for Triple Leap Year, Double Rainbow and Niamh? (Like the fact that Iden maxes out on DC production at level 17 due to rounding.) From my understanding of rounding, Niamh's max level would be 16 and Double Rainbow/TLY's would be 19, but I wanted to check. 3. Is it possible to upgrade the Light/Dark/Snowflake/Monolith Reward Habitats to their Large (and Giant for Light/Dark) variants when they're not available in an event? If so, what are their prices (do they cost gems)? 4. Is there a lore reason why Sea Shanty is the only Melody dragon that earns a different amount of DC? The others are all 413/min at level 20 according to the wiki but Sea Shanty's not even 300. 5. Do we know whether the Zodiac habitats will ever be added to the main market for gems? Since the current Zodiacs (and I'm guessing any future ones will probably be the same, at least for the 6 other main ones that will probably be added at some point) have a non-Zodiac element their habitats don't technically need to be added to the market but it would be nice for aesthetics. (Especially since the Zodiac habitats are incredibly pretty.)

1. Yes 2. I'm not going to redo your calculations, but if you've used The Boost Calculation Guide on the Wiki, then it is probably safe to assume you are correct. 3.There is a post in Deca Announcements that should answer these questions. The Light and Dark reward habitats aren't listed here, but I would imagine that the pricing would be the same. 4. Don't know. Perhaps his music is less popular. 😉 5. We don't know, but the Melody habitats weren't available in the market when the Melody dragons were first released, but are available to purchase now. The zodiac habitats may be added to the market once all the zodiac dragons are released.

I looked at the upgrade price for my Dark Reward habitat and it was 25 not 75. I'm guessing the upgrade price for large-giant would probably be 50 or something like that.

Thanks so much for answering my questions! 😊
I think that the Light and Dark reward habitats were overlooked when the other habitats had their gem prices adjusted.
