I feel like about 50% of the quests I have been getting lately require a Gemstone Dragon. Due to this, it is really slowing down my gem production as I feel as if there is always a gemstone dragon on a quest.
I got Ruby's quest last night, and I have just recieved Sapphire's quest.
Are your quests like this too, or am I just fairly unlucky with getting quests that require a Gemstone dragon?

I don't receive that many Gemstone quests. But when I do receive them, I never send the Gemstone dragon. I pick another dragon with one or two of the required primary elements. This does mean that I won’t win, but I’ll still receive rewards for getting some of the elements correct. The main reason why players don’t send Gemstone dragons on quests is because it resets the dragon’s timer. So if you only had two days before the dragon produces a gem, when it returns from the quest, it now has 7 days.

Adult and baby Nubis have proudly been added to Fourm’s avatars. Hurray! 🎉 Thank you for the magnificent addition, Hawk!
Construct was also added since he was the Summerthings Magical favourite.
Yay! And Construct too! Decisions decisions. But I have to go with baby Nubis for now. He's just too cute. If he followed me home, he'd for sure be let in. Thank you, Adlerist!
Oh my gosh, Nubis looks so grand on your profile. ☀️ What an adorable pup!

I already knew it reset the dragon's timer, as it really slows my gem production.
Still, it is always a pain to receive those quests, especially when it is every other day. And crystalline dragons are the same way.
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.
Okay so... what's the chances of receiving the same dragon quest twice in a row?
I am asking this because a couple days ago I received Frost fluff's quest (Fluff Bluff) twice in a row from Gaia.
I would think it would be quite rare, although I have had it happen to me before too! And I've had the same quest pop up at the same time in both my parks.
I think that they are random, but I have had some quests turn up again and again. I'm sure that there are some quests I've never seen - but I'm not going to scroll through them all to check. 😉
Gotta love getting gemstone quests all the time - I just recieved Colorless Chasm (barite's quest) from Kairos.
In all honesty, I need to start a quest record just to see what percent of my quests require a gemstone-rarity dragon.
Also, I wish we had a page purely for ranting about things on this forum, similarly to how the Salty Sunday works on the subreddit. (I cross-posted this idea onto the forum requests thread).
After a brief conversation I had with adlerist about always getting quests for Gemstone dragons, I came up with a decent idea for the forum.
The Salty Sunday automated thread on the subreddit, as well as my terrible quest and Grimoire breeding luck has me thinking: Why don't we make a page dedicated to ranting about bad luck on this forum? Oftentimes, the koalas are attracted by the complaints of others trying to breed their dragons (or not get a gemstone dragon quest for at least a a day).
Obviously, the page would be dedicated to ranting things about a player's bad luck in DragonVale, and/or perhaps certain features they are annoyed with. To keep the Forum a good place, the page would not allow ranting towards other members or towards DECA games.
Perhaps similarly to salty sunday, all posts can be archived every week at the Sunday reset, just to be concise with Reddit.
We all need a place to complain about who-knows-what Dragonvale thoughts (for me it is the quests and Grimoire luck). So, as long as we can keep the space friendly to others, it would not be a bad idea to let users get all their words out.
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.
~Minitaure rant alert~ Also, I wish we had a page purely for ranting about things on this forum, similarly to how the Salty Sunday works on the subreddit. (I cross-posted this idea onto the forum requests thread).
We could maybe set up a time to do it on the chat box but I’m not sure I like the idea of a thread to immortalise the negativity - doesn’t really fit the Aloha spirit

I think that there are enough threads on the Forum that a comment can be popped in one about any frustrations a member might have about breeding event dragons, the rift or any other subject - as you have done here.
I'm not sure that I would like to see an exclusive Rant Thread.
It would be interesting to hear other members thoughts. 😊
Even though i registered in 2013 and have 'lurked' until recently ... one of the biggest reasons i came out of hiding was the 'Aloha Spirit' here. It really is very, very, very unique in such sites as this. i consider an occasional 'rant' here or there to be expected but would rather NOT encourage an entire collection of such here. Especially NOT on the chat box!
MinyaZ These are my thoughts. Thank you for asking.
My game was connected to my school email address, which has just been de-activated or something (which I thought they were going to do last year because they warned us it would be unusable by October but anyway) - I can still open my game, but I sometimes need to reinstall the game to fix issues, which I prefer to do myself. Is there a way I can switch the google account my game is linked to?

If you log out of your Google account in the game, then log in again, you should be able to select your Google account. If you’re not given the option to choose a different account, contact Deca’s support.

The Chatterbox has been converted into the Jukebox, so it has a new purpose that we’re pleased about. So far, it’s working well; therefore, I’m not keen on taking it down for a Rantbox. Although, Rantbox is a fun name.
The Reddit Salty Sunday posts were created a couple of years ago because, at that time, players were posting many, many criticisms and rants. On Reddit, each post is kind of like an individual thread, and people can reply to it, which snowballs the problem. The complaining became overwhelming, so the admins decided to delete the critical posts and urged players to consolidate all their venting on the Salty Sunday post instead. It’s just a place to let off steam. The replies are not passed on to Deca, and upvote/downvote is disabled so you can’t see if a lot of players agree or disagree with the criticism.
Currently, the Forum doesn’t have this problem. So there really isn’t a need to designate a place for people to vent. But there was a time, many years ago when the Forum suffered from nonstop complaining. DV was still under Backflip and the vitriol was focused on them. Back then, I was not an active poster, I don’t even think I was a member. But I stopped reading the Forum because it was not interesting or helpful to hear the same players complain about the same thing over and over. The site became an unhappy place where everyone from admins to mods to members were angry about everything. The players who were not upset likely didn't feel comfortable posting, so their voices were not heard. Nobody wants to be the lone sunny post in a sea of bitterness.
It’s normal to have frustrations about DV, or any game, and we welcome those complaints and laments on the threads. Everybody can relate to the aggravation of not breeding a dragon or receiving the dreaded untraited dragon from the Rift.
I don’t know if encouraging more complaining with a dedicated thread is necessary because we can all find more things to complain about if we look hard enough. Admins and mods will actively try to prevent a devolving in the conversations and posts, so hopefully, we won’t get to the point where there are nonstop grievances. But a lot of this is dependent on the game. If breeding percentages are severely lowered, or dragons are suddenly placed behind paywalls, then the complaints will flood everywhere. Deca has been a great steward of the game, so as it stands, there shouldn't be a lot of reasons for players to complain about DV all the time.

With all that being said, it would probably be better to just keep ranting threads to Salty Sunday. We need to keep the Aloha spirit, despite the fact that there might be a lack of koalas here and there which might make us want to rant.
Also, what could bad luck be called? Ravens, perhaps? Or maybe dingoes since they prey on koalas?

I love ravens / crows. They are so incredibly intelligent it’s unreal. Sadly, they have a bad reputation steeped in superstition like black cats. I don’t consider any animals bad luck, perhaps bad luck could simply be 'alaok'.

I like alaok. It sounds just like a condensed version of 'a lack of luck'. 😊

I do not mind using koala spelled backwards as bad luck, as it is a fairly creative idea.
I thought that a predator of the koala would make for a good bad-luck animal, as well, they eat the poor koalas away. In Australia, predators of koalas include:
Dingoes/Wild Dogs
Eagles
Owls
Pythons/Boas
Goanna (a species of lizard)
Domestic Cats (due to invasiveness)
Tasmanian Tigers (thylacine),which are now extinct
