This is an awesome looking dragon. I love all the Casino type references on his body. I like that Deca has released Jackpot now before the new limited dragons are released. I can try for this in my main park and hopefully get it in a week. And if not, there is 'plenty' of time to breed one. 🤞
Not so much my lucky day. My first attempt in the cave is going to be a Gold or a Rainbow. 🙃
I've just noticed on the splash screen, that baby Jackpot has the 77 as a mirror image on his chest. I wonder if that happens in a habitat as well when he faces that way.
That is much more interesting. 😊 Also, it is a new way to obtain a decoration and it isn't any more expensive than the decorations in the market. Deca were more inventive with the decorations release. Not a bad thing. It certainly got everyone talking about it. 😊
My main problem with it was that there wasn't an obvious tutorial explaining especially that it needed to be cleared multiple times before anything happened. Everyone keeps talking about a goal but I have no idea where that is... Probably the quests book? But since that never gets updated apart from for new dragons it is not something I ever check.
Look at the top left left in your game. There is an icon there that says 'Goals' Looks like a book. All the Goals that you haven't achieved yet are listed there. There is a button for Featured and Show All.
The Goal for the Enchanted Forest gives a reward of 100,000 DC and 100,000 XP. 😊

I figured that's where it was, but like I said it's not instinctive to check there. I don't know if many people here check it often but the last time I did was when I got the shrines up to platinum and before then I had never, ever looked at it since getting rid of all the other non-dragon goals.
My point was that it was placed in somewhere where I think people are incredibly unlikely to find it. I could be wrong since I can't speak for everyone of course, but why look in it anyway? It's so unused later-game. There was a better way of going about the tutorial.

The goals book has an exclamation mark on it if there is something new addded. Obviously I can't speak for everyone either, but I look at it every time there is an exclamation mark there, which is every new dragon and decoration that has a goal associated with it. 😊

That is something, however that doesn't really mean anything to me when there's new quests added for the new dragons. When I was earlier game I always used to check the quests and Dragonarium to clear the explanation mark since it bugged me, but I never do that anymore because there's constantly things being added (and my social menu always has it anyway because of all the twins). Again it depends on the player, but if it gets to the point (like it has for me) where the icon doesn't mean anything, it doesn't signify to that player that there's something important to check out.
Having an info thing on the forest or an actual tutorial would be more obvious and the info box wouldn't be much harder (if at all harder) than the goal.

I agree that the big red exclamation point is a good indicator! This game has always been about figuring things out. A little trial and error just makes it more interesting. Rift, Eggy Hatchy, which dragons to use for breeding… all can cause confusion, mystery, and creative thinking. I played for years without DV Guide, the Sandbox, or other resources simply because I didn’t know they existed. I guessed a lot and made mistakes but the game was endlessly interesting and challenging.

Don’t waste your magic on clearing the forest, unless your park is not at max, all you get is useless park upgrade xp, I got no dc or anything else, total rip off 😡

Did you not get a decoration? If you have cleared everything, I believe that you should get a decoration. It can take a few minutes, but it goes to your social menu.
I haven't cleared the forest, so I'm only repeating what I've read.

I cleared it because:
1. I already have all the returning dragons
2. I really like the decoration.
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.

I have seen pictures of the decoration on Reddit and I will definitely be saving my magic and clearing the forest. I'm already thinking about where I will put it in my park. 😊

I'm going to side with @metaphoricalrobin on this one. Early on when I first started playing DragonVale, I used to check the goals often to see what was new and look for updates once I completed a goal. That didn't last for very long. And to be honest, I haven't touched the goals book in years.
If it weren't for this forum, I wouldn't even know there was anything hidden in the forest or that you could clear it to receive a prize. I just thought it was part of the event island and didn't think to tap on it or anything. I definitely agree that providing information on the forest or having a tutorial would be very helpful. After all this isn't one of those point and click computer games from the 90s where you tap on everything to see if something happens.

You said it better than I could 😂 I also didn't know the trees meant anything at all. I thought they were just visual.
I get why people like the idea of figuring it out yourself but not everyone does. People of all different levels of 'playing casually/seriously' and 'liking tutorials/not' play DragonVale. The 'figuring it out yourself' feel shouldn't be forced on people who like being guided through things - even just briefly. My issue comes down to this: It is easier for someone who is of the 'figuring it out yourself' type to ignore a brief tutorial than it is for someone who is of the 'please guide me through this new feature' type to understand what in the Vale is going on. There are plenty of examples in-game of badly-done tutorials or even non-existent ones; the enchanted forest is just adding to a list. Yes, info can be found online, but not everyone knows this. I played DragonVale for 7 years before I knew anything DragonVale-related was posted online. And before anyone says "well then a tutorial wouldn't be fair on the 'figuring it out yourself' people", there was definitely a way of going about this that would have been more inclusive to more players, regardless of where they are on the 'figure it out yourself' scale. There could have been a more obvious tutorial, not hidden away in a place that some people don't check (or during a tutorial that most people skip since it seems to them it's the same-old same-old) that didn't make it 100% clear what the reward was but that explained the trees had to be cleared multiple times for it to be revealed. Or they could have made an even clearer tutorial/explanation but given the player the option not to go through it. The second idea would have been harder to implement and the first idea would still result in some frustration if people spent the 2k EC only to discover it's something they didn't want, but either of those would have been better than putting the 'tutorial' in a place where some people won't ever check.
Apparently some people find the exclamation mark useful but I really don't, and I'm not the only one. Certainly in recent events, DECA have never used the quest book for anything besides new dragons. Maybe they have in the past but this comes back to the issue of them not compensating for newer players' smaller amount of experience. Also, I looked at the tutorial and it didn't explain anything to me... I still would have been clueless even if I HAD seen it. EDIT: I also just checked my main park, which wasn't the park I used to check the quest, and there was no exclamation mark. So regardless of whether the exclamation mark is useful or not, it wasn't there.
But I'm not surprised I'm of the less common opinion because I always am no matter the topic 🤣
What are the chances of getting the light theme in the prize selection?
Do you mind clarifying what you meant? Do you mean, what are the chances of DECA adding the light island theme to the event market? Sorry if I've misunderstood! 😊
I wasn’t clear, sorry I did mean the light island theme. Guess I missed it
What are the chances of getting the light theme in the prize selection?
The light island theme was available in A Thawsome Spring, so Deca would be unlikely to include it in this event as well. This event has the air theme included in the market. 😊
Darn, I must have missed it.
