Hello Folks !

We love ours dragons. We want they live in the most beautiful park … and some of us deploy treasures of imagination and creativity to offer them a park worthy of the greatest architects, making the most emeritus wizards of DV jealous. We are particularly attentive to this during events organized by Deca where we want to highlight these dragons so difficult to buy or breed!

So we have decided to organize for you an "ISLAND DECORATION CONTEST" with different levels of competition to allow players of all levels, whether beginner decorators or experienced decorators, to compete in friendly or seasoned competitions.

• In the two first levels,  you will have to decorate an entire island to fit the theme of current DECA event. 

As DECA event theme can be very open, the only constraint to fit the theme is to submit an island that fit with either the name of the event or in relationship with categories of the event market, dragons, decorations, habitats, island themes released in the event market…. We will try to explain how to fit the theme for each contest. 

• In the last level, the theme is reduced and you are guided on a special aspect of the decoration .

ARCHITECT
Passionate about decorating your park, a DECA event is an opportunity for you to gather your charming residents and your decorations on a magnificent island with possibly some new dragons/decorations (but this is not your priority) which will transport us immediately in the universe of the event celebrated by DECA. The ARCHITECT level of our ISLAND DECORATION CONTEST will allow you to face the best of us and and show off your islands, each one more beautiful than the other. 
This level is a classic decoration contest : you will have to decorate an entire island to fit the theme of current DECA event.

WIZARD
If from the start of the DECA event your goal is to get the maximum number of new dragons released during this event, and their pedestal, of course; if you are waiting for the right time to buy the new decoration or the new island theme to create the most beautiful setting for your new dragons; if you like challenges then come face to face with the WIZARD level of the ISLAND DECORATION CONTEST.
As Dragonvale is a collector’s game, this level is for decorators collectors!  The focus of this level is on achieving the collector's goals: to have the maximum number of event dragons and decorations that appear for the first time in the game in addition to the decorator’s goal : to create a magnificent decoration of one entire island to present them.


DISCOVERY
But maybe some of you don't dare to start decorating, maybe you think that it takes a lot of experience to make a beautiful decoration, decorating an entire island without a guide scares , or you simply don't have much time to devote to decorating an entire island but creation makes your fingertips itch... and you too would like to take part in this decoration contest, don't worry, we've thought about it! the DISCOVERY level of the "ISLAND DECORATION CONTEST" is made for you.
This level is a classic decoration contest but the theme is reduced and the emphasis is on a particular decorative aspect. 


As DECA events punctuate life in the Vale : 

The ISLAND DECORATION CONTEST with the three levels : ARCHITECT, WIZARD and DISCOVERY will begin when DECA launches a new event

ISLAND DECORATION CONTEST ORGANIZATION & RULES

Who says "island decoration contest" says "island screenshot" and you don't know how to post a photo of your island on the forum . No worries, the Deco Contest Organizer (DCO) takes care of everything !
To allow to the DCO to take a screenshot of your decorated island , you have to become friend with DCO :  Add DCO as friend in your park (currently the Friend ID of DCO is Ney2#3036 ) , then post your Friend ID on the thread or send it to the DCO by DM to allow her to add you back. 

Note: Except for the Wizard level where the DCO need to access to your park to correctly count the additional points, if you know how to post a screenshot of your island and don't want to add the DCO as a friend, befriending the DCO is not required to participate (it will not be mandatory only if you win to receive the gem prize). In this case, when you submit your island, DM it to the DCO. You must TWO types of screenshots of your island :

1 - take the island with all the buttons to be consistent with the other screenshots the DCO will take and proof your identity in case of win

2 - take a screenshot without buttons (use the park view to suppress all the buttons but keep the visibility of all dragons and decorations) required for the anonymous voting session

ALL SUBMISSIONS will be posted by the DCO on the thread at the same time for a given level  to allow to the forum community to vote for their favorite islands

Note : the name of the participant is not displayed during the voting session, for a totally impartial vote. To remove any doubt about the player's identity, at the end of the contest, the winning islands are displayed on the thread with the banner containing the player's name.

Note : Currently @ney is the Deco Contest Organizer (DCO)

Information

In all levels , when your submission is validated by the DCO (the time to take a screenshot of your creation and send you a DM to validate your participation) , you have not to keep your creation in your park . It can be an ephemeral decoration or not . It’s your choice !

In this way you can reuse your decorations and dragons at leisure to participate several times in the same level and/or in other levels. The goal is not to force you to ruin yourself by buying expensive decorations and dragons several times!

IN A CONTEST, THERE ARE TWO WINNERS BY LEVEL

RULE 1 : The same player can't win twice in the same contest level

For DISCOVERY level  the two winners are :

• The one whose island received the most likes during the public voting session *
• The other winner is chosen by the Deco Contest Organizer  

For ARCHITECT level the two winners are :

• The one whose island received the most likes during the public voting session *
• The other winner is chosen by the Deco Contest Organizer
    

For WIZARD level , the two winners are :

The top two in the combined ranking** of design (chosen by the public) and additional points ranking *

* : In case of tie, the winner is chosen by the DCO and/or Deco Staff Team*** between all islands with the same raking

*** : Deco Staff Team is composed by adlerist , MinyaZ and samiam      


🧩 HOW CONTEST LEVELS WORK 🧩


For ARCHITECT Level :

• You have to decorate an entire island to fit the theme of the current DECA event
• No need to have the new event dragons or decorations to fit the event theme at this level. 
  
• The only purpose is to offer to the forum community the best beautiful island on the current event. 

For example : if the theme was the “Lovely Doubling” event, you could submit an island like this one :

• This level lasts for the duration of the DECA event to give you all the time necessary to decorate your island while respecting the theme of the event and eventually the novelties that coming during the event.
  
• You can participate as many times as you want until the contest deadline submission
• You have just to submit your decorated island to the Deco Contest Organizer and wait for confirmation by DM of the registration of your participation before attempting a new island decoration.

For WIZARD Level :

• As with ARCHITECT level you have to decorate an entire island to fit the theme of the current DECA event
• In addition, you must integrate into your island the most new dragons, pedestals, decorations and habitats (eventually used a new island theme) that were first released in DragonVale during the DECA event
  
• A scale of additional points * is established for each new event element contained in your island and it is the combination of your ranking for the design of your island obtained by the likes of the forum community members during the vote session with that of the additional points which will give your final ranking
  
• This level lasts for the duration of the DECA event included the time when the event market remain opened to give you all the time necessary to decorate your island while respecting the theme of the event and purchase if necessary/possible all novelties that coming during the event.
  
• Only one submission is allowed for this level but it's not necessary to obtain all the new event dragons/piedestal or decoration etc. to submit your island. And maybe multiple copies of the same dragon can earn you a lot of points while you might not be able to get another one of the new event dragons or buy yourself the coveted new event decoration.
  

For example : if the theme was the “a thawsome spring” event, you could submit an island as this one :


* : an example of scale of additional points is proposed in the "START OF THE CONTEST" chapter

For DISCOVERY level :

• We give one or more examples of decorated island part with a defined decoration theme. The theme can be related to the current DECA event or not - It depends if the theme of the DECA event can be easily applied on a single element or delimited only on part of an island that would make sense
• The discovery decoration theme either can be applied to a single element to be highlighted that doesn’t required decorating an entire island either to need to reproduce the same pattern on several islands, everything will depend on the theme addressed.
  
• It's up to you to draw inspiration from it to offer us your version according to your creativity
  
• This level lasts 3 weeks from the start of the DECA event.
  
• You can participate as many times as you want until the contest deadline submission
  
• You have just to submit your decorated island to the Deco Contest Organizer and wait for confirmation by DM of the registration of your participation before attempting a new island decoration. 

For Example : if the theme is "how to enhance a building", a coupe of examples can be displayed to give you a guideline but feel free to let your creativity run free!!!

 

🎬 START OF THE CONTEST  🎬

The "ISLAND DECORATION CONTEST" will begin when DECA launches a new event
The Deco Contest Organizer posts on this thread :

• The name of the contest (generally the name of the DECA event) that is the theme of the contest 

• If the DECA event theme is very open, explanations on how to fit the theme can be added  
• The deadline register contest for each level 

• The deadline submission by level
  
• The deadline for posting (by DCO) all submissions for each level
  
• The deadline for the vote session (by principe the forum members can start to like their favorite submission when all submissions for a level are be posted by the DCO and the session during one week )
  
• The deadline to announce the WINNERS for each level of the contest
  
• The scale of additional points for the WIZARD level dedicated to the current contest
  

Here below , you can find an example of scale of additional points (only with the type of new elements released in the DECA event) . A scale of additional points depends of the exact list of novelties added in the DECA event.
Example of a scale of additional point : 

10 points per non limited new dragon (5 points per pedestal)
20 points per limited new standard dragon (10 points per pedestal)
30 points per limited new epic dragon (15 points per pedestal)
20 points per new dragon in rift type (10 points per pedestal)
30 points per new twin dragon (15 points per pedestal)
15 points per new decoration / island theme / habitats … ( everything that can only be obtained by purchase in the event market and not dragon/pedestal)

👩‍🎨🏖️ HOW TO PARTICIPATE TO ANY LEVEL OF THE CONTEST 👩‍🎨🏖️

STEP 1 : REGISTRATION 

This step is necessary to befriend the DCO in Dragonvale to facilitate the display of screenshots: If you are not already friends with the DCO, you must exchange your Friend IDs with the DCO*

To register your participation to the contest :
Post on the thread before the level deadline registration the following message :

REGISTRATION : name of the contest / level name / forecast island number or name / park 

Note 1 : forecast island number is not mandatory , if displayed , Please, use the reference map to identify your island
Note 2:  if you have several parks in competition, please add park name 
Note 3 : You can participate to all level ! 


STEP 2 : SUBMISSION(S) 

To submit your decorated island :

• Post on the thread before the level deadline submission the following message :
  

  SUBMISSION N : name of the contest / level name / decorated island number or name /park

• Wait for the validation submission DM sent by the DCO with the screenshot of your island before making changes to your decorated island. *
• If correct, confirmed by DM or directly on the thread you received the good screenshot. If not, please DM the DCO to fix the issue.*
  

In case of multiple participation in the same level, when allowed in the level,  N : is the number of the submission in the same level 
If you have several parks in competition, please indicate the name of the park concerned
Note : Please, use the reference map to identify your island (it may be different than the forecast one)

* : if you know you to post an island on the forum and you don’t want befriending with DCO, you must send the screenshot of your decorated island (in the good format - see example above) only by DM to the DCO and wait her DM that validate your submission. 

To be friend with DCO : 
    mandatory for the submission process, display your island on the thread and receive the award if you win

• Add DCO as friend on your park (DCO friend id is currently Ney2#3036) and send her by DM or post on the thread your friend ID for allow her to add you back
  

Registration message example : 

• to participate at the architect level of the « Summerthings magical » island decoration contest with the island number 33 , you have to post on the thread the following message : REGISTRATION : Summerthings magical / architec level/ forecast island 33  (forecast island number is not mandatory)

Submission message example : 

• To submit at the architect level of the “Summerthings magical” island decoration contest with the island number 28, you have to post on the thread the following message: SUBMISSION : Summerthings magical / architec level / decorated island 28

Note : in this case , the player changed of island between registration and submission ! 

Multiple submissions message example : 

• To submit once more at the architect level of the “Summerthings magical” island decoration contest with the island number 28, you have to post on the thread the following message: SUBMISSION 2 : Summerthings magical / architec level / decorated island 28

In this case , the player decided to submit a new version of the same island but he can also decide to submit an another island (for example 24) so , in this third case the message posted on the thread will be : SUBMISSION 3 : Summerthings magical / architect level / decorated island 24 

RULE 2 : In ARCHITECT and DISCOVERY levels , you can participate as many times as you wish

RULE 3 : In WIZARD level , only one submission is allowed 

RULE 4 : It's possible to submit the same island for the ARCHITECT and WIZARD levels

RULE 5 : You must submit at least once before the deadline submission in the levels where you are registered 

RULE 6 : To help the DCO to identify which island is(are) concerned , you must used the number(s) or the name of the island(s) referring to the following reference map






🥇 HOW TO WIN 🥇

REMINDER :
RULE 1 : The same player can't win twice in the same contest level

FOR THE DISCOVERY AND ARCHITECT LEVELS : 

- After the submission deadline for the level of contest concerned, DCO visits all player parks registered for the contest and postes ALL the decorated islands on the thread for the level concerned in the contest.
- The Forum community members have one week to like their favorite islands
Note: a message will be posted in the event thread to remind members of the forum community of the dates of the voting session for the level concerned.

The one whose island received the most likes during the public voting session is one of the two winners of these levels contest
The second winner is chosen by the Deco Contest Organizer and /or by the Deco Staff Team 

RULE 7 : In case of tie , the DCO (with the help of the Deco Staff Team if necessary) choses the winner among the island with the same rank


FOR THE WIZARD LEVEL : 

- After the submission deadline, DCO visits all player parks registered for the contest and postes ALL the decorated islands on the thread
- The Forum community members have one week to like their favorite islands. This allow to establish the “design” ranking of all participants
Note: a message will be posted in the event thread to remind members of the forum community of the dates of the voting session for the level concerned.
- In parallel with the forum community vote, the DCO calculates the additional points to establish the “event element” ranking of all participants
- The weight of “design” ranking is 1 and it is 2 for “event element” ranking

the TWO WINNERS are the two first one of the final ranking obtained by mixing the two rankings with their weight

RULE 8 : In WIZARD LEVEL, in case of tie when mixing the two ranking, the player choose is the one with the best “event element” rank
RULE 9 : In WIZARD LEVEL, in case of totaly tie, the winner is chosen by the DCO (with the help of the Deco Staff Team if necessary) among the island with the same final rank.

Please go to on the island decoration contest thread and  click on the like button of your favorite islands. 

Leaving an admiring and constructive comment and/or an explanation of your vote will be greatly appreciated.

VOTING RULES

RULE 10 : You can vote for one or more islands but not for all the islands, at least two of them must not have received your approval.
This does not mean that the islands are not beautiful and amazing but we need a ranking!

RULE 11 : The entrants can vote except for their own submissions

RULE 12 : The votes are done blind and the publication is random * 

* As some entrants can reuse a submission for a higher level, the name of the winners and other entrants will not be displayed until Wizard level winners are determined

Maybe you choose to highlight the enhanced dragons as in this island below … or create a fairy island  or a faire fete island for your visitors …
Why not choose dragons who have magical animation or an island on the olympus or moon/solar theme or decorate a light/dark island and why not a mix of all of that !

In each ranking : the first has rank 1, the second rank 2, etc.

The final wizard level ranking  is calculate as follow: 
“design rank”+ (“event rank” * 2) 

The winners of the Wizard level are those who have the lowest final rank, of course!

So as we have a tie on the first winner, the top 3 of the Wizard level is following : 

I participated in this level to encourage our participants and show what we could obtain in additional points with a lot of luck! let's not forget that I have a family of koalas who call my park home. If I am very proud to be part of the top 3, I cannot, on such a level, receive a reward which goes right to our deserving participants who have worked hard to obtain the coveted additional points and offer us the most beautiful of magical summer islands

Oh ! Yes you are absoluty right. When I posted the scale of addditonal points I had not seen that they were not obtainable by breeding and I forgot to correct it. Thank you for your attention and help!!!!

Yes you can .

In this case , just register your participation for each  level before the deadline registration in the thread . 
post this message for your architect level registration : 
«  summerthings magical » contest -  architect level  registration - forecast island xxx
and this one for your wizard level registration : 
« Summerthings magical » contest - wizard level registration - forecast island yyy 

• When your island for architect level is ready you have just to post on the thread before the deadline submission for architect level : 

« Summerthings Magical contest - architect level submission - island xxx 

Note : in this level, you can also submit several island decorations (on the same island or on different islands, each island submitted will be recorded and proposed to the public vote) - please just wait the submission validation  DM before make changes in your park 

in this case, for a new submission post on the thread :
