Apparently breeding twin Eldritch dragons has something to do with flying pigs and hen teeth! 😵💫
Addendum: So I scheduled a consultation with the potions Master over at Mrs Murphy’s SWW, Prof Potinius brewed up a standard acquisition potion and added 10 hair from a flying pig’s hindquarters (that isn’t what he called it) and 3 teeth from a hen. Said hen is now edentulous from all the demand for twin potions. Cleaned my iPad screen with the potion and immediately got a twin. Since I want two more, I called Prof Potinius to order more but the pig hairs and hen teeth are on back order.
I wanted to ask if Prof Potinius could brew me a batch of twin potion, but it sounds like I might be in a rather long queue. 😉
I've been trying all week for a twin Exterrean. A friend gifted a twin Exterrean so I've switched to Greymatter. Have cloned plenty of both, but not a twin to be seen.
'edentulous' - what a great word! I had to google it to see its meaning, although the context it is used gives a good indication of its meaning. 😊

You may be able to do Rift breeds, Dragon Track races, and Tolzar twice. Once now and again in 30 minutes. It worked in the past, but I don’t know if it will now. So try at your own risk.
In 30 minutes, all the timers should be in sync.

PSA: Select the final dragon reward from the Portal of Portends soon
Earlier in the event, a bug started that caused the event to disappear, including the event island. Reloading the game resolved the issue. However, if this bug occurs now, and you’ve unlocked all the rewards for the Portal of Portends, the game will automatically choose the dragon from the last reward when you reload the game. Therefore, players may want to select their dragon soon, since each time you open the game, the event disappearing bug could turn up.
If the final prize was automatically chosen due to the bug, Deca has requested that players contact support with the dragon they would like to receive.
For players who could not open the game for 10 days during to the loading bug, unlocking the rewards in the Portal of Portends has been brought up several times by the Game Reps. We don’t know how Deca will address the issue or when compensation will be delivered. The hacking problem delayed the delivery this week because sending anything to the Gifts menu would’ve been confusing. But if it’s fixed, Deca can proceed.
Apologies for the bugs and hacks, everybody. Hopefully, the game can get back on track soon.
I am soooo glad that I read through this amazing PSA before work yesterday! I took ages to choose my dragon; I went with Eldritch. However when I logged in after work, surprise, surprise, this very thing happened to me. So thank you adlerist!
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890
I'm working on spending all my EC. This part is fun, though I really feel for all the people affected by the log-in bug. I would be so sad right now if that were me.
I'm looking forward to the next event. Last year is when I first started playing Dragonvale, and I was just barely level 11 in time to catch the end of Whitbee's Candy Bash, but the Thanksgiving/Fall event was my first reall event playing in Dragonvale, and I'm really excited about it. I can't wait to see what they have in store! I really liked last year's event island, and the introduction of the hedges even though they were super expensive. (I got a bunch in the decorator week... by the way, anyone know when one of those will happen again? Is it once every year for the decorator's week?)
I hope there is an expansion even soon, because I can buy 3-4 islands and I'm really going to need the space!

I really needed the distraction of this game at that time in my life, and now too, and it also is a way for me to have quality time with my sister, as she's been playing since the game came out! I just want to say thanks for having this place here for us all, and it makes me so excited to come here and check out what's going on and what everyone else is excited about!

Decorator Week has been occurring annually in the spring/early summer, but I really think it could be more frequent since it can easily coincide with an event and not cause disruption. However, I don’t know if Deca will increase its frequency. We are definitely due for an Expansion Extravaganza! A lot of players have been requesting it. If it stays on course, it should arrive soon.

PSA: DragonVale is no longer recognising daylight saving time
Over the last three years, DV had difficulty adjusting to DST in the US. As a result, the game will be ignoring DST (and hopefully, the rest of the world will follow). So, if you live in an area that recognises DST, be aware that the game's daily reset will not change when daylight saving time starts and ends.
‼️ After considering your feedback from the last years and time changes, we have decided to not adjust the daily reset twice a year when the clock changes in EU/NA, and to keep the daily reset at 2pm UTC, to not risk any issues within the game. Please be aware of this moving forward.

Currently spending my EC on decorations while stockpiling spooky fencing. Better to have extras now for when my Halloween 2.0 island starts to grow over time, that way I'll be able to focus on adding dragons without worrying about whether or not I'll have leftover currency for decorations.
Very much looking forward to the Om of Noms so I can start adding some autumn dragons to my Halloween 2.0 island. Spooky is good, but adding a touch of fall will make it really beautiful. It's so exciting and so much fun, getting to start a new Halloween island. I'm having a wonderful time in my little corner of the world. 🎃🧡🖤🎃🌾🍁🍂

I’m still hoping to clone Shackle, but I do have enough to buy both Shackle and Magma, and their eggs (just) because I also invested in a large number of spooky habitats and six rift habitats for my gemstones. This definitely hasn’t been the easiest event, but I’m not mad about it and I think I’m going to get everything I want (as long as I don’t sleep through reset again)

Reset happens earlier now due to UK and North American Daylight Savings times. I think DECA is moving away from changing with DST to having the daily reset occur at 1400 UTC regardless of local timing conventions. There's an update from DECA about it in the DECA announcements page.

I posted about DST yesterday. DV used to follow US DST. But it always caused problems since Deca is in Germany. Their DST starts and ends earlier. To simplify everything, DV is no longer observing DST. So, if you live in an area that recognises it, please be aware that the game is not moving its timers backwards and forwards twice a year.
I’m really sorry you didn’t have a chance to purchase everything from the event market. If you weren’t able to buy dragons, post them on the Cooperative Request thread, and players can put the dragon in the co-op for you. If it’s decorations, Decorator Week rolls around in late spring/summer, so you’ll be able to obtain the items then.

It’s interesting that this isn’t an Om of Noms event. Perhaps Deca has changed the theme. Or just omitted 'Om of Noms' from the loading screen like how 'Candy Bash' was omitted from the current loading screen image.
Hopefully, we’ll get a new greenhouse to gift another friend treats, as MinyaZ requested.
