This event has been quite a good event. I've been able to get at least one of every event dragon and still have event currency over to buy some habitats and decorations.
The koalas have been fed and on their way to parks that need them. 😊

What’s a better post-Halloween endeavour than to buy a Giant Rift habitat for my 5 traited Eldritch dragons and dress them up for a Halloween party?! 4 shrouded trick or treaters and one party pooper who arrived without a costume and expected free dragon treats anyway.

PSA: Select the final dragon reward from the Portal of Portends soon
Earlier in the event, a bug started that caused the event to disappear, including the event island. Reloading the game resolved the issue. However, if this bug occurs now, and you’ve unlocked all the rewards for the Portal of Portends, the game will automatically choose the dragon from the last reward when you reload the game. Therefore, players may want to select their dragon soon, since each time you open the game, the event disappearing bug could turn up.
If the final prize was automatically chosen due to the bug, Deca has requested that players contact support with the dragon they would like to receive.
For players who could not open the game for 10 days during to the loading bug, unlocking the rewards in the Portal of Portends has been brought up several times by the Game Reps. We don’t know how Deca will address the issue or when compensation will be delivered. The hacking problem delayed the delivery this week because sending anything to the Gifts menu would’ve been confusing. But if it’s fixed, Deca can proceed.
Apologies for the bugs and hacks, everybody. Hopefully, the game can get back on track soon.

I know the compensation is disappointing and does not cover the amount players lost. The Game Representatives and Deca Community Managers fought very hard for fair and generous compensation. Sadly, this is nowhere near what we requested. We do not know how these amounts were determined, or what the reasoning was behind it. But we’re very sorry that it’s so unworthy.
Players affected by the loading bug will receive 150 gems total. If you’re thinking about unlocking the Portal of Portends with gems to obtain the last dragon reward, please wait until the end of the event so it’ll cost less. The event island and Portal of Portends disappears on Monday, November 6th at the daily reset.
So you know what you’ll be receiving if you unlock the event daily rewards, here’s a list of the prizes from the last 10 days (you’ll have some of these unlocked over the next couple of days).

How to tell if a gift is legitimate or hacked
Since the hacker sent gifts, there’s some confusion about which gifts are from Deca and which are hacked.
These are legitimate gifts from Deca Games. There’s a Collect button.
If the gift is an item, there may also be an Info button.
These are gifts from the hacker.Most of the hacked gifts have the Free Gift buttons for gems and treats and they’re always greyed out. Also, the gem amounts are typically unusual, odd amounts, and most were over 50 gems.

For the past few days, the event randomly disappears when I log into one of my games. It reappears when I force-close the app and go back in, but when it happened today, the game had chosen a dragon for me for my last login award. So if this has been happening to you too, claim a dragon quick before the game gives you something you didn’t need. 😢

It is so easy to clone when you have two to start that I will add 10 more to display the different colored eyes. Wish there was a little more to the traited version. Loving the traited costumed ones though. Now my Vale is ready for a new island to put them all on! Getting a bit crowded on Fire Island.
I started DragonVale as a collector, became a decorator, and then added being a Visual Storyteller. For co-op friending my ID is GKVale # 4024

One of my alts had the last reward dragon from Day 42 automatically selected after the game crashed. And it wasn’t due to the event disappearing bug, just a regular crash. I didn’t notice the gift was claimed until later in the day. The event disappearing bug has not occurred in any of my parks, so it seemed relatively safe. Apparently not.
If you haven’t claimed the Day 49 dragon, please do so, because the game has been unstable throughout this event, and crashes are not uncommon.

I’ll start — I claimed a traited-twin Rotblossom! Almost selected a traited-twin Iden, Ocular, or Gatren. In the dragon selection, I had all the dragons twinned and traited, so it was a matter of choosing a traited-twin. Usually, I pick a dragon that I don’t have levelled up to 20 in the Rift. Since the other three are already at level 20 in their regular traited version, I went with Rotblossom. If RottyB is ever in a breeding combo, I’ll level up the traited-twin version to 20.
I also really liked RottyB last year. He is weird and wild and the perfect Halloween dragon for the Upside Down and right-side-up.

I chose my dragons the other day as I didn't want them automatically selected for me. I know that Deca would have given me the correct dragon if I contacted them, but as I knew what I was going to claim I didn't wait.
Usually I will claim a twin traited dragon if I don't have one as I want one of every dragon in the Rift. I've been lucky and managed to breed, or already had, all the current event dragons with a trait, so my next option was a twin that I didn't have.
As I play two parks reasonably seriously, I crossed out all twins that we both needed - they'll be good to get in a Twin weekend. 😉
In one park I chose a Dracabra twin and in the other park a Hydnellum twin. Two twins I can cross off my list. 😊
I claimed a twin-traited Hyperion. I am currently undecided on whether I want to get all twins and/or all traited dragons, but I didn't have any other dragons I needed a basic version of as I had a lot of EC spare, and Hyperion is a pain to breed (especially as I don't have traited versions of either of its parents), so I claimed a traited version in case it's ever required for a new release. It's just lucky the one I bred originally was a twin.
Rift breeding is incredibly useful. I must have got at least 600-700 breeds in the Rift alone this event. I am considering collecting all traited dragons, not for the sake of purple fire, but just to aid breeding.
I don’t intentionally collect twins, but without one, I won’t be able to obtain a traited version from the RBC or from a daily reward. So I claim them when I need a traited version. (Hee hee, maybe eventually I will achieve blue fire, even not trying intentionally.. 😝)
Of my three parks, two are without a traited Iden. So I claimed the twin Iden in order to get a traited one from the RBC, or from a daily award when the time comes. For my other park, I claimed a twin Hyperion.

Although oomagooma25 already knows this, I’m going to throw it out there in case there are any new or returning players perusing the Forum.
The last day to collect the rewards from the event calendar is always the last day of the event, when the event island disappears. The date for the last day of the event is in the Help menu on the event island, and it’s also on the Forum in the first page of the thread. The final limited dragon’s timer is also set to the end of the event. After the event and limited tier disappear, there are two days left to shop at the market.
I usually post a warning before the event ends. But I can’t always be online exactly 24 hours before the event concludes, so I’ll post it anywhere from 12-24 hours prior to the event concluding. If you need to know the info soon, please check the resources I mentioned above. Cheers!

Thank you so much for the warning about the game auto selecting the dragon! I haven’t had the event disappearing bug but the game does crash when breeding in the Rift or when I switch parks. I always wait until the last day to pick the dragon from the rewards. But I didn’t want to risk it because knowing me I’d forget or procrastinate and never email support.
Apparently breeding twin Eldritch dragons has something to do with flying pigs and hen teeth! 😵💫
Addendum: So I scheduled a consultation with the potions Master over at Mrs Murphy’s SWW, Prof Potinius brewed up a standard acquisition potion and added 10 hair from a flying pig’s hindquarters (that isn’t what he called it) and 3 teeth from a hen. Said hen is now edentulous from all the demand for twin potions. Cleaned my iPad screen with the potion and immediately got a twin. Since I want two more, I called Prof Potinius to order more but the pig hairs and hen teeth are on back order.
Traited Eldritch was my choice for the reward egg. There was one in the stable already and having two allowed me to successfully breed a batch of traited Eldritches to put into costume for Eldritch Island. Wish twins were a bit easier to come by.
