Considering that the winter event is usually the longest of the year, I have a feeling that Expansion Extravaganza might hold off until after next event.
Alas, I might also be wrong since it has been a good while since the last one.

I'm sitting pretty for this event. Still have quite a few I'm trying to breed, but feeling good and getting SO ready for both the Expansion Event and the Winter Event.
Hey, anyone know why the stinky little Sprout dragon is so hard to breed? He doesn't have that bad odds, but ever since I evolved my only Sprout to be a Blotato, I've been trying to get one of them back and it's been using up all my good rift breeds for days now. Seems almost impossible! Maybe all my luck was used up when I feverishly went for a traited Kroki so I could do a Pollenizer in the rift. Got both of them just in time, so it's really too much to ask for an easy Sprout. I guess I'll just buy him, I do have nearly enough to get him.
I ended up choosing Diggy with my end of event egg.
Already spent all my EC in all my parks due to paranoia about possible bugs shutting me out or taking all my EC. You know what's really odd, I tend to enjoy spending during the event, like getting habitats as I need them or dragons I need for breeding, but spending at the end is kind of nerve-wracking and I don't know that I like it all that much. So I suppose I'll be buying as I go again from now on. Sidenote: the decorations that they had this event were so awesome! I love the Standstone statue and the autumn pavillion, as well as the tree. Come decorator's week, I'll be grabbing a lot more of those fall trees.

One last question: Should I get the Harvest theme? I'm kind of blah about it, and really prefer the Autumn and Seasonal themes, but ... I guess it's only 1,000 EC. I should probably get it.

I have also purchased all the new content that I want from the market. I purchased all the coloured cubes to have if I ever get inspired to decorate with them. I have never used one yet. If there were more islands on offer and I had more room I might use them.
Yes, buy the Harvest theme. I try to have two of every theme that I like, so have several in reserve. It is always good to have spare themes for when Deca bless us with many new islands. (Yes, I'm dreaming 😊)

I did not even bother to even attempt to fool around with trying to breed Waterwalker. Since it was fairly cheap, I just decided to buy it. Besides, it took nearly half the event to breed Pikeleaf.

I managed to breed a Sow dragon in the last minute, how crazy is that!? Now I only need an Aubergine, Squishy, and Pikeleaf to have at least one of every dragon of this event. Yay!
Fingers crossed for an Expansion event before (or at least during) the Christmas one, but I'm not holding my breath since tomorrow is the day the Christmas event should start. Also hoping that DECA raises the habitat limit for omnitats (or at least the dragon capacity).
Happy Fall, I enjoyed harvesting all my dragon crops! I have a new dragon treat farm set-up thanks to this event!

Expansion Event! Yea! Bring it on! Looks like it’s time to cash in all my gems. I’ve been letting them accumulate in the Gifts tab since the last expansion event. So i should have enough gems to expand Hibernation and Storage, and use coins and Wishes for an island or two.
Warning! There are reports on Discord and Reddit that players can’t open the game after pressing the Open button from the DV listing in the App Store. If this happens to you, force close the game and restart. It should fix the issue, but it may take several attempts.
Please don’t use the Open button from the App Store. Continue to open the game by tapping on the DV app icon on your device.

Had to buy Waterwalker about 2 hours before the event ended when I got a long breed time and tired of spending gems. But I was able to breed all the others so I feel very koala-y in that regard! Is the whine lounge still a thing?

Same thing happened to me. I think a Misfortune dragon somehow bred with a koala, then they proceeded to spread their anti-luck offspring all over my park. I spent the last week before the end of the event dealing with Rainbow fails, one after another after another. I finally gave up and decided to buy Waterwalker.
As much as I'd like to move on to the next event, I'm kind of glad we're getting a break because I need some time to clear all these unlucky hybrids from my park.

I was so relieved to know there would be a break with an Expansion event. I'm not ready for the big Christmas event, no matter how much I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be intense. I'm enjoying a small break.

Very happy for the expansion- definitely needed the new island!! Just an odd one- do we know if there may be any chance Deca might add some kind of upgrade that lets you rotate decorations? Just that with the size of some of the new ones, and the space they take up, they can be very blocking. Just being able to turn them would be a huge help!

Decorations and buildings cannot be rotated because the graphics are 2D. Backflip, the creator and former developer of DragonVale tried to mirror the decos and buildings, which would allow players to flip the item. However, since the shadows are baked into the graphics, the shadows were mirrored as well. And since they weren’t consistent with the light direction on all the buildings, it looked wonky, and they decided against it.
