How to evolve the Lovey Dragon into the Loveydovey Dragon
The new limited dragon is Lovey. And it holds a secret. It can transform into the LoveyDovey dragon!
Petal Island is located above the event island and slightly to the left (please be aware that I made up the name 'Petal Island' 🤭. There isn’t a name for the island in the game, and Deca said they called it 'Gimmick Island' internally, which didn’t sound very Valentines-y).
To evolve Lovey, you will need to clear the Magical Petals three times from Petal Island. Here are the prices and how long it will take:
• First clearing: 1,000 Roses, 24 hours • Second clearing: 1,000 Roses, 24 hours • Third clearing: 2,000 Roses, 24 hours
You can speed up the process with gems (1 gem = 1 hour), and you can use Kairos.
After the Magical Petals are removed there will be a chest.
Tap the chest and the Enchanted Chest button will appear in the lower right corner. Press the button to make the chest disappear and the Love Potion decoration will be sent to your Gifts.
Place the deco in your park, and you can evolve Lovey into Loveydovey for 1,000 Roses. On Lovey’s profile card, there is an Evolve button that will be orange to show it’s activated.
Important: You may need to open the Social menu TWICE (you do not need to reload your park). The decoration does not always show in your Gifts the first time you open it. Here is what it looks like in your Gifts. It should be one of the first items.
This is what the Love Potion decoration looks like in your park.
• It will cost 4,000 Roses to clear the Magical Petals and 1,000 Roses to evolve Lovey for a total of 5,000 Roses to obtain Loveydovey, provided that you have Lovey.
• Loveydovey can only be evolved. It follows the evolve breeding/cloning rules. It cannot be bred and it cannot be cloned in the co-op using one Loveydovey dragon. Loveydovey + any other dragon = never Loveydovey. Loveydovey + Loveydovey = can result in Loveydovey.
• Please be aware, if you collect regular, twin, and traited dragons, you will need two of each — one for Lovey and one to evolve into Loveydovey.
UPDATE: Petal Island will leave the Vale forever on Thursday, February 29th at 14:00 UTC (daily reset). Along with the island, Lovey and the ability to evolve Lovey into Loveydovey for 1,000 Roses will also expire.

This happened to me as well. It’s on the evolve instructions post I just posted. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to post sooner. Deca is aware that players have to open their Gifts twice. I don’t know if they’ll be able to fix it or not.

When you open the chest, the Love Potion decoration will be delivered to your Gifts. Place the deco in your park, and you will be able to evolve Lovey into Loveydovey for 1,000 Roses (100 gems after the event). Open Lovey’s profile card and there will be an Evolve button that is orange to show it’s activated.
Important: You may need to open your Gifts TWICE. The decoration did not show the first time for Calli and me. Here is what it looks like in your Gifts. It should be one of the first items.

Bed of Roses, Rose Topiary, Heartfelt Bridge, Path of Petals, Marbleheart Cube, and Berrywhite Cube have all been added to the Sunshine section of the event market.

There is also confusion with Loveydovey, who is showing an expiration date of 10 days. We were under the impression that players could evolve Lovey at any time, as long as they had the Love Potion decoration.

Thanks so much for the update, even if it's just that we don't know yet. I think I am going to try and Co-Op clone three Loveys (one for Lovey, one for Loveydovey, and one for a Lovey pedestal). I'll try for Portent and Delirium in the main park, currently undecided what the Rift will be for (Rosebud, Delirium, Portent or Lovey for a traited Loveydovey?) but I only breed up to 10k on non-double days anyway (which I've already done today) so I have a day to decide for definite. I'll probably end up keeping trying for Lovey since I want to end up getting traited versions of all evos anyway and Glyph, Pixie, Minchi and Mesmerus are currently taking up my plans for RBC claims.
There are also a bunch of Paradise dragons I need but since they're associated with an event I won't be focusing on them unless by some miracle I get enough Loveys, Deliriums and Portents before the week is over.
Tornor and Calli discovered that Lovey and Loveydovey have the same egg design. They asked Deca to change one. Right now, you can only tell the eggs apart by the blue or purple colour of their icon border or by clicking on the pedestal so the name of the egg shows.
Deca's crafty way of making Name That Egg super difficult! 😆

Good question, I'm also wondering about this.
You have to double parent clone to breed a second then pedestal it. Same with Mesmerus. All other evo dragons are buyable in their events so their pedestals are too, but an unfortunate side effect of these two not being buyable is that it's only possible to get their pedestals by breeding.
Luckily, double parent cloning odds are almost always good. I know Mesmerus' is 15% in Co-Op. I'll just check Loveydovey's... Edit: according to adlerist's introduction post it's 20%
Edit 2: I would guess you could also wish for a pedestal when the dragon is available to be wished for though I'd personally suggest just double parent cloning.

I'm so excited, I was able to breed a traited Lovey today around my 2,500 Etherium breed. It was awesome. I got fire trait. Kind of hope I can manage to get another one before this is all over, as I'd like to have one Lovey and one LoveyDovey. Used Kairos and cleared 2 sets of petals so far for the potion chest.

I did just breed one in the rift, so given it was on my 3rd try or something perhaps I’ve just gotten lucky. Koalas to you for a traited Divi turning up in your rift soon
The Vale dragons gathered around Gardenia to curiously see her special Valentine's Day surprise. Next to Gardenia was LOVEY, the loveliest dragon they had ever witnessed. It exuded love. The dragons were very charmed and impressed. 'Oh, but there is more,' teased Gardenia. From her pocket, she revealed a bottle of love potion. The dragons were mesmerised as they had only heard rumours of such a concoction. Gardenia sprinkled a touch of potion on Lovey, and quicker than instant coffee and microwaved leftovers, Lovey transformed into LOVEYDOVEY. It was the greatest magic the wizards and dragons had ever seen in their magical land. Loveydovey was doubly lovely! Everybody gasped and cheered and rolled in delight.
Lovey is in the co-op transforming with twice the love. Happy Valentine’s Day! Koala love to all!

Each removal takes 24 hours. Once you’ve cleared the three petals, a chest will be revealed. Open it, and the Love Potion decoration will be delivered to your Gifts. Place the Love Potion in your park, and you can evolve Lovey into Loveydovey for 1,000 Roses.

Lovey and Loveydovey are very cute and well suited. No Lovey for me today, but a couple of long fails clogging up my caves. 🙄 Very thankful that I have both parents in the Rift. Don't mind getting normally long fail dragons in the Rift as they give good event currency. 😉
