Deca Games has developed a series of questions to gather feedback from players regarding their new event dragons. To capture an accurate account of players’ assessments, Rate a Dragon threads are created for each new dragon. These threads will be available approximately one to four weeks after a dragon’s release to allow players some time to breed the dragon and admire its fine qualities.
Since Deca asked players to rate their dragons and provided questions for the categories they would like to receive feedback on, please keep all comments related to the dragon. Opinions and suggestions about the selection process Deca utilises to add player-designed dragons into the game, requests to include or exclude a player’s dragons from the game, and other off-topic comments will not be passed on to Deca. In addition, excessively rude, graphic, or offensive remarks will not be relayed and could result in a ban. Criticism is certainly welcomed, but try to keep it constructive and relevant to the dragon.
The Rate a Dragon threads will remain unlocked until the event concludes on August 21st. At the end of the event, your ratings and comments will be passed on to the Deca DragonVale Team.
Please take a minute to rate the Deepest Depths dragons from 1-5 for each category. You can either post your feedback on this thread or message me. Thank you for participating, sharing your thoughts, and making this game even better with each dragon.

1. Animation 2 it doesn't do much
2. Rift trait 5
3. Size (if you don’t own Quadruple Leap Year, please check a friend’s park) 4.5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) 1.5 I give it half a point since Sipho was better priced and its combo is obviously very accessible, but no first limited should ever be this expensive, no matter how easy it is to obtain otherwise or what the later limiteds will be priced. Players have only had two weeks to earn EC by its last day of availability, and 15k is a week's worth of EC for a late game f2p player who doesn't plant farm, so there are likely newer players for whom 15k is either everything they have earned by the time QYL left or they couldn't even reach it. (ESPECIALLY given this event has no extra EC mechanic without spending many gems and the hidden items only give 64 EC on normal days.)
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event 5 and I personally like that
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design 5 I especially love that all four heads have a unique shape
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements) 5 I personally wouldn't have minded something like water + dark + any other two elements (like Dream but water instead of light) given its shown elements but obviously this is an excellent combo (at least because of the odds decrease after you have one) and it's good that it follows the Rainbow/Leap Year tradition.
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 4.5 in my own opinion there's nothing to dislike (apart from the lack of animation), but I definitely see where people who wish it hadn't been event-themed are coming from.
Comments/feedback for Deca I totally get why people were upset that it's related to a specific event, but I am happy to disagree and let them have their opinion. I do kind of wish it hadn't had the water and dark elements on its profile though, even though it obviously fits the event, being "deep dark".
Some people really struggled to breed this dragon. Since it has an odds decrease after you get one, it might be an idea to increase its initial odds to 4% or even 5%. Especially since it's so expensive.
Edit: I really appreciate the attempt to give players who didn't like the water-specific design a new dragon for a more traditional design, but I would highly recommend using a style/enhancement instead. Either that, or please make the evolution mechanic really easy! We really don't need any more evolution dragons.

3. Size (if you don’t own Quadruple Leap Year, please check a friend’s park) 5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) 3
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event 4, fits the event, but late for a leap year
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design 5
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements) 5
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 4.5, like it as an individual dragon, but doesn’t really fit with other leap year dragons.
QUADRUPLE LEAP YEAR DRAGON 1. 3 2. 5 3. 5 4. 1……expensive to buy………low income maker compared to the other Leap Year dragons. 5. 4 6. 4 ……QLY water world dragon?!🫤 7. 2 8. 4
1. 3/5 A bit lacking in its animation 2. 5/5 Perfect placement 3. 5/5 No complaints size wise 4. 2/5 The perennial complaint of too expensive 5. 5/5 Fits right in 6. 4/5 Okay so compared to the others, leap year doesn’t jump out but it’s sticking with the appropriate number of heads & what great heads 7. 5/5 Tricky to breed but makes sense 8. 4/5 I like it
3 - Less interesting with less personality than the previous leap year dragons. But, the fact that the head-turning animation has been a consistent feature of the line since Double is a nice touch.
2. Rift trait
4 - It's mostly consistent with where the traits on the other leap year dragons are placed. But, when the major complaint about the dragon is how it lacks the gold/silver/white theme-ing of the prior 3, it's unfortunate that the part that is actually gold gets replaced.
3. Size (if you don’t own Quadruple Leap Year, please check a friend’s park)
4 - It's fine, maybe a bit on the smaller side compared to the other leap years.
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons)
3 - The price is fitting for a leap year dragon, but exorbitantly expensive for a dragon released as the first limited of an event.
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event
3 - I want to give it both a 5 and a 1, because this dragon is technically meant to fit 2 events. For the Deepest Depths event, this dragon is perfectly on theme. But for a leap year, this design is lacking. It's got 4 heads and a bit of gold, so it meets the bare minimum requirements what the Quadruple Leap Year Dragon should look like, but falls short of looking cohesive with the other three.
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design
3 - I want to give this dragon a 5 for its design because I do actually really like it quite a lot, but I cannot overlook its shortcomings as a leap year design. I also don't like that the dragon doesn't particularly look like it should be able to survive in a Rainbow Habitat. The dragon needs water and that itty bitty little puddle on the left of the Giant Rainbow Habitat is just not gonna cut it.
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements)
4 - It's consistent with all the other leap year dragons. It makes no sense as a combo that would result in something part water and dark though.
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!)
1 - I want to like it so badly, but I cannot. It's just disappointing on all fronts.
Comments/feedback for Deca
I know you are working on an evolution to appease people upset with the dragon's design. I am excited that a solution is being offered but I am not sure this is the correct one. An evolution dragon will have a different name and frankly, the Quadruple Leap Year Dragon is the one that needs the redesign, not whatever it will evolve into. If possible, please consider changing the name of this dragon so the "replacement" can have the name fitting of its design. Also, I believe it will suck that the one meant to fit into the leap year family will be the only one without the proper "any four elements" breeding combo. I am not sure why the name of this dragon can't be changed and a new dragon separate from this dragon's existence entirely be released with the proper name and combo. The people who like this dragon, do not like it because its name is "Quadruple Leap Year Dragon," they like it because it is a cool design. No one will be upset if the name is changed.
I forgot to add, another reason an evolution won't be a good solution is evolutions always possess all of the elements of their base dragon and quadruple leap year should not have the dark or water elements.
1. Animation 3; there’s a few clipping issues, although it’s not super noticeable unless you’re looking hard. also, just not a big fan of flipping elements of the model to turn the head around
2. Rift trait 4
3. Size (if you don’t own Quadruple Leap Year, please check a friend’s park) 5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) 3; seems kind of expensive for its simplicity and derpy appearance
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event 5
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design 2; does not at all match with the rest of the leap years; while the deep sea theme is cool, it doesn’t work great for QLY as all the other leap years have appeared as gold and white, majestic, and similar to Eastern dragons, while QLY is randomly a leviathan-looking sea dragon with blue and red primary colors. I also dislike how derpy the faces are, especially compared to TLY
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements) 4; matches the rest of the leap years and rainbow element in general, although I think more thought should have been put into it because it also has dark and water on its profile, which seems integral to its theme and design
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) 2
I want to say (sorry made an account after the rating) that I actually like the design of this dragon, just not as a leap year. There are many aspects I like about it, including the palette and style, but it just doesn’t work well with its leap year brethren.

5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event: 5
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design: 5
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements): 5
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year: 5
Comments/feedback for Deca: I have rated this based on the look and design of the dragon, rather than it being a Leap Year dragon as I think that it is an awesome looking dragon and really fits the Deepest Depths theme. The question doesn’t ask how fitting the name is for the dragon. 😉
I really like that each head roars together, but they also have independent animations and each head has a different character. The rift traiting has great placement. There’s quite a bit, but it is not overpowering. The only negative comment I have is that it is too expensive. While it’s good to mix pricing up, an expensive dragon can’t be the first limited as players haven’t had enough time to save that much Event Currency. And with no extra mechanism to earn currency this event a lot of players would have missed out.
While it is a great idea for any dragon that only requires four elements to have different percentages once one is owned, perhaps this could be implemented once the dragon has expired after its first release. It made it very challenging to breed in the rift as the rift will give non-traited versions. As many players collect traited versions of all dragons if they bred a non-traited QLY first, they either made it a pedestal or sold it.
Any special dragon (Leap Year, Anniversary etc) is not required to fit an event. They should be special dragons that get released at their appropriate time. I was disappointed to hear that Quad Leap Year is going to be used in an evolution to produce a more ‘fitting’ Leap Year Dragon. If a more suitable Leap Year dragon is being designed and released, why not rename this one, which fits beautifully with the theme and can return next year during this event. It is going to be weird if Quad Leap Year (and its evolution) return in an event.
EDIT: PS If there is going to be an evolution of QLY it will need to be available to breed again so players can breed one to evolve. Could the breeding percentage please be changed even if one is owned, otherwise players will struggle to breed one to evolve.
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons): 2, kind of expensive for a first limiteds, with a 1% social clone odds
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event: 3
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design: 5
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements): 5
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year: 5
Comments/feedback for Deca: I like this dragon as a deep sea creature, but not as a QLY. That is why I rated the theme as 3 (5 for the deep sea theme, but 1 for it to be a QLY). I think this dragon is beautiful with 4 heads, and fits perfectly to be a sea rainbow dragon (like Enfis). I realize Deca may feel like they “owe” us a QLY, but it shouldn’t be connected to an event. I am curious how this QLY will be evolved, and hopefully not with another 10 evolving items that we have to buy.
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design: 4 At least it has four heads.
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements): 3 Got it untraited in the rift. Could not breed a traited version.
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year: 3
Comments/feedback for Deca: I really like the dragon, but the name and lineage is all wrong. This could have worked really well as a Quadzilla water dragon for a deep sea event. But no. Deca had to make a bone headed mistake and release this dragon as part of the Leap Year family with which it bears no resemblance whatsoever. Now Deca has to waste time, energy, and resources trying to figure out whether to leave the dragon as is, or evolve it or somehow dress it up to look more like a Leap Year Dragon. Nice work!

QUADRUPLE LEAP YEAR DRAGON
1. Animation-4
2. Rift trait-5
3. Size (if you don’t own Quadruple Leap Year, please check a friend’s park)-5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons)-3
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event-3, feels like since the leap year dragon was late, DECA tried to design it to fit this event with fins and gills.
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design-3
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements)-4
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!)-3
3. Size (if you don’t own Quadruple Leap Year, please check a friend’s park) - 4/5
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons) - 2/5
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event - 3/5
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design - 4/5
7. How would you rate Quadruple Leap Year’s breeding combo (any four elements) - 5/5
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year (1 = I hate it, 5 = I love it!) - 3/5
Comments/feedback for Deca - doesnt really need an evolution. would like if the design was updated to include features from past LYs, such has a longer body, horns, and some color changes (white + gold)

1. Animation: 2/5, A bit generic, but I like how one of the heads turns around and looks at the others. The rest of the animation is unremarkable which is disappointing for such a special dragon.
2. Rift trait: 5/5
3. Size: 4/5, A little smaller than triple leap year, which is a bit odd, but you can still see all the details.
4. Price (15,000 Doubloons): 3/5, Expensive, but I guess it's going to be a very rare dragon.
5. How well does Quadruple Leap Year fit the theme of the event: 3/5, I'm torn, because it's very aquatic but not thematically in-line with the other leap-years.
6. Rate Quadruple Leap Year’s design: 4/5, I really like the cute little blocky head on the baby, I wish it was more prominent on the adult! (I know that would probably make such a special dragon a bit too silly, but it's so cute!). I was a bit apprehensive that the four heads would be crowded, but they don't seem out of place at all. I actually really like the blue, but the main issue with the design definitely is the colour scheme; it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the leap-years with their gold and white palette. The aquatic aspect is also a weird choice, none of the other leap-years look particularly aquatic so it just adds to the dissonance within the group. I like it a lot on its own, but the colours especially need a reshuffle.
7. Breeding combo (any four elements): 5/5, Difficult, but makes sense for a leap year dragon!
8. How much do you like Quadruple Leap Year: 4/5, I'm quite biased because this is the first leap year dragon I've managed to get on it's year of introduction, it's blue, and I really like how the four heads was done. It's just a little disappointing how it doesn't seem to fit into the "set" of leap years, which is especially evident when they're all in a habitat together. I know they're supposed to be releasing an evolution for it soon, but I feel like a few tweaks to the design would be better rather than the difficulty of making a whole new dragon and presumably the artifacts to go with them.
Animation: 3/5 A tad erratic when it bites, and less focused on flying than it should be.
Trait: 5/5 Trait placement is excellent.
Size: 5/5 Size is just about right.
Price: 2/5 Ouch, that's a lot for the first limited of the event.
Theme: 1/5 Quadruple leap year is curtailed specifically for this event - rather than its namesake.
Design: 1/5 Like I already mentioned, this dragon was designed with this event in mind more than its leap year brethen. There is a huge inconsistency between it and the other three leap years, which makes me feel like DECA put no effort into making a true leap year dragon.
Combo: 5/5 Traditional rainbow dragon breeding combo.
Preference: 3.5/5 Although I do enjoy this dragon, it should have followed the concept and colour scheme of the other leap years.
Comment: Although an evolution is being considered, it will not help relieve the inconsistencies of the original dragon unless a new design is implemented entirely.
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.
