Another trick for determining if a friend is using a Dracomancy 1, 2, 3, or 4 in the co-op cave:
Choose your Dracomany dragon and then pick a friend's Dracomany in co-op. Click the 'Results' button. If no Dracomany is showing, then your friend is using a different version than you. If one appears in the results list, click the count in the upper right corner. That shows which copies you have. Or you can tell by the counts, I have 8 copies of Dracomancy 1 right now. If I see an '8' there and I'm using a Dracomancy 4, then the friend is using a Dracomancy 1. If it's a '1', then they are using a Dracomancy 4. And if there isn't one in the result list, then they are using a 2 or 3.
Using the Results feature to determine which Draco is in the co-op was suggested by Deca, but some players thought it was confusing because Draco1 can be in the results, as it can be single-cloned. Nevertheless, I included the tip on the Everything You Need to Know About Dracomancy posts on the Forum, Reddit, and Discord. Although, it did take a backseat to Greggerman’s brilliant suggestion to use the Wish List.

The more I've thought about it, the more I think all 4 should really be in the Dragonarium. Maybe don't put two and three in a subcategory so you can breathe fire without them, but it would just like life easier overall to have them in the Dragonarium. I guess for now, stick a second copy of 2 and 3 in a hibernation cave and once you find one, you can find all the others!
I came here to see if anybody had asked about this as well. I was checking my numbers of each in the Dragonarium for future evolving and realized there was, of course, no record of how many Stage 2s and 3s I had. More annoying, I can’t access them through the Dragonarium and just have to remember where they’re holed up in my park. I’m glad they’re not required for completion, but ignoring their existence seems silly too. There should be a record of them somehow.
As for the co-oping, your method is what I used. I checked the breeds and if Draco showed up as an option, I just clicked the little number in the corner and it popped up with my dragon list. I’d named all my dragons Stage 1-4, so I knew if it was just Stage 1 it would clone, or the one I was aiming for. I gave up trying for twin Stage 4s in the end anyway, because I bred the traited one, but it worked well enough.
The reps did not request the addition of Draco2 and Draco3 to the Dragonarium because it would’ve been stressful for players to breed eight traited Dracomancys in the Rift to obtain the traited Draco1, Draco2, Draco3, and Draco4 dragons and pedestals. Considering that an enormous number of dragons bred at the Rift Breeding Cave are untraited, players would need to breed Dracomancy 12 or more times. Draco is only available for 11 days. Plus, there are other things players need to breed in the Rift besides Draco. If Draco could not be bred in the Rift (Ghostly Bone was in the combo), Draco2 and Draco3 would be more plausible. But then, players would complain about not being able to use the Rift.
Not adding Draco2 and Draco3 to a Dragonarium subcategory would be perplexing for players and give Draco even more exceptions to the rules. It’s better for the game to have consistency as much as possible.
Maybe Deca would think about adding Draco2 and Draco3 next year. But considering how confused players are about the dragon, changing him again might not be the best idea, and Deca may want to leave it alone and not produce more dragons like Draco.

If Draco2 and Draco3 were in the Dragonarium players would definitely feel pressured to collect them. They’re already collecting them right now. Four new dragons at the end of the event is a lot. It would’ve been better if there wasn’t a Draco2 or 3. And Draco1 and 4 shouldn't be different dragons. But it’s cool that DECA is trying something different. In the future, hopefully, they can talk to the game reps early, when they’re coming up with new ideas to get some direction on what players need and expect.
For the Dracomancy scrapbook, here are more images of the Ominous Digsite and Dracomacy at level 20 in various stages and residing in a habitat. I think the floating head at stage one is pretty hilarious.

Thank you so much for this! I didn’t know what the different Dracos look like in a habitat. I just rushed through the upgrades lol. And I also rushed through the dig site upgrades. I love the text for the dig site! It really goes with the dragon!
Oh, Ceclia, i am 81 and got so confused and frustrated with this dragon that i am ignoring him completely until next year. Or maybe even longer. i hope you get your Dragonarium breathing fire again very soon! Here are some Koalas and Treats to help! 🐨🐨🐨🌱🌿🍀🍫🧁🍀🌱🌿🐨🐨🐨
My Dragonarium is now indeed breathing fire - following adlerist's sound advice. Furthermore, I see I have two other Draco dragons in various stages of bodily bits, which I rather think may be Draco 3 and 4, but I’m not confident about that at the moment!
Cecilia at the Duckpond
CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is GREAT news and you did it so quickly! May your Dragonarium continue to breathe Red Fire as long as you want. 🐨🐨🐨🍀🍀🍀🍀🐨🐨🐨

peribee and cecilia If you need the Dracomancy's so that you can have a fire breathing Dragonarium but aren't worried about having second copies or breeding them, do the following:
• Buy two Dracomancy dragons from the Market (they are cheap at EC 1,000 each) • Buy the Ominous Digsite from the Market (EC 2,000) • Upgrade the Ominous Digsite as many times as you can. It is instant and costs DragonCash. • Evolve one of your Dracomancy dragons as many times as you can. This costs EC. (It will stop at Dracomancy 4)
You will then have a Dracomancy 1 and a Dracomancy 4 dragon. Your Dragonarium will show that you have both Dracomancy dragons. You can choose to feed them or not. 😉
Thank you SO MUCH, MinyaZ! i will share this short, clear, easy to understand and follow version of how to get the Dracomancy dragon with several folks who are pulling their hair out over it! i ,personally, had Red Fire almost continuously in all 3 Parks once it became a thing until 4 years ago. So now i am no longer a 'Completionist' and pick & choose what i want as i go. Therefore, once again, i am enjoying a stress free DragonVale and LOVIN' IT!!! :)

• The DV Team will not be disclosing the price to evolve Dracomancy after the event. But it will cost gems and cost more than other evolution dragons.
• The team is considering a raise in the Etherium rate for Draco1, Draco2, and Draco3. Currently, Draco1-3 only earn 3 Etherium/hour, instead of 30 Etherium. Therefore, there is little reason to level up Draco2 and Draco3.
• Draco1 and Draco4 will both be obtainable through the Egg of Mystery, Daily Rewards, and Dragon Draw (when it returns).
• Hopefully, the stage numbers for Draco will be added to its icons and pedestals today, but there can be delays.

Gah - I thought I had this event under control, until I catched up with the forum today… I hadn’t been paying enough attention in the game, if I hadn’t read the forum I would never have understood the Dracomancy upgrades. And now I’m suddenly short on candy. Bleh.😱
But, on the bright side, this forum is a must-have, it saved me from a lot of work, trying to figure it out by myself when the event is over! Thank you for that 🤗
The reps did not request the addition of Draco2 and Draco3 to the Dragonarium because it would’ve been stressful for players to breed eight traited Dracomancys in the Rift to obtain the traited Draco1, Draco2, Draco3, and Draco4 dragons and pedestals. I think you misunderstood my thoughts. I just suggested the Dragonarium because that’s where everything is organized. I’m very very pleased Draco doesn’t require four stages to complete the Dragonarium. I just wish there was a way to find the middle stages. Is there some way to make them findable, without making them a requirement for fire? You know there are crazy Completionists (me) who are still going to make twin and traited versions of them all anyway. It’s just harder to track them this way.
The more I think about it, the more I think this should have been done more like Eldritch. Same dragon, but have to buy the pieces and can house it in whichever form one prefers. I’m sure that’s too much crazy coding, but it would avoid this. Then over time, players could buy extra sets of body parts and own Draco at all four levels. And we’d have one Dragonarium entry, all dragons would be findable and it would only require one name… we wouldn’t have two dragons with the exact same name…

Sorry, if I misunderstood. Since you replied to Quil’s post, I thought you were expanding on this thoughts. Draco as an enhancement would’ve been amazing. Sadly, the enhancement dragons are extremely complex, so Deca likely won’t be adding any. I like the new process to achieve Draco, but when it was deemed an evolution dragon and forced into the role with no single-cloning percentage and a base that’s a different dragon than the final form, all the while having the same name and egg, it became too confusing. Draco could’ve been a new type of dragon, like a Transforming dragon, or whatever, and there could’ve been more Transforming dragons in the future. That would’ve been exciting and not confusing.

You’re very welcome, Liza! It’s always a joy to see you on the Forum. If you’re short on EC, just buy two Dracomacy dragons from the market and the Ominous Digsite. Draco and the Digsite are super cheap (1,000 EC and 2,000 EC, respectively). Hibernate one Draco (don’t evolve it). The other one, if you have the Candy to spare, you could consider evolving Draco twice (the first two evolution stages are inexpensive, 1,250 EC and 1,750 EC). The last stage costs a lot of Candy (12,000 EC). Wait until the event is over and evolve Draco with gems. We don’t know how much it’ll cost, but since he has three stages, it will be more expensive than the other evolutions dragons. If you don’t have the gems to spare, you can always wait to evolve Draco next year. All you need is Draco1 (base) and Draco4 (final form).

Hey guys, sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I don't have much time to read the forum these days because I have a second job and we are currently caring for my cousin with dementia.
I have noticed 2 bugs with the new dragon, Dracomamcy.
First, when he was released in Thursday, I bought one, and I also bought the ominous digsite.I also bred one that evening. I put the one I bought in a spooky habitat. The next time I logged in, I hatched my bred Dracomancy, only to see I did not have 2, but 1. My bought one was just gone. I thought maybe I just misremembered, so at that point I bought another one and evolved it to the second evolution, and named it Draco2. I then named my bred Draco to Draco 1. They both got put in Spooky habitats.
This morning I bought another, intending to evolve him to Draco3, but I noticed when I bought him, it said I had 3 Dracomancy dragons. I looked at their names, and there was a Draco1, and then the other two were game-given names, and both dragons were in the hibernation cave.
I am so weirded out but also scared to spend my EC on more Dracos and evolutions because they keep disappearing from my park.
I have the latest version of the game installed.
Anyone else having disappearing or un-evolving Dracos?

Draco question in the rift: I have 1 rifted Draco1, I’d like another to evolve into a rifted Draco 4. My question is should I use ScourgeRift+BoneRift OR are my odds better with Draco1Rift+another dragonRifted? And part B, if the answer is the second choice what is the best dragon to use? Thank you!
Thanks to the work put into compiling information on this forum, I get how Dracomancy works now. Though it doesn't reflect well game design-wise that these convoluted processes are not communicated well without consulting the meta. Sometimes I am very baffled as to how Deca decides to communicate game mechanics within the game. Feels like this happens almost every single event. I remember the Treebark dragon last event being somewhat confusing as well.

Draco1 (base), Draco2, Draco3, and Draco4 (final) are different dragons, although only Draco1 and Draco4 are in the Dragonarium (count towards red, blue, and purple fire). If you evolve Draco1 to Draco2, you will no longer have a Draco1. If you evolve Draco1 to Draco4, you will no longer have a Draco1.
All you need is Draco1 and Draco4. Buy or breed two Draco1 dragons, only evolve one to Draco4, then they’ll both show as owned in the Dragonarium, and you’re done.

Draco1 + another dragon has slightly better odds than the breeding combo, so you’re better off cloning with Draco1 in the Rift. For the other parent dragon, I like to use one with a long breeding time to potentially earn more EC from the breeding fails. I used Void, but there are other dragons with Draco’s elements that have 20+ hour breeding times, like Subterranean, Decay, Char, and Arctic. Once you have a second Draco1 in the Rift, if you want more for the traited pedestals or traited Draco2 or Draco3, just breed Draco1 + Draco1, and the odds jump up to 30%!

Unfortunately, explaining things in the game has never been Deca’s strong suit. So when new features and concepts are released, the reps try to convey as much information and detail as possible because we know players won’t find it in-game. I’m not sure how players manage if they don’t engage in a DV community.

Nevermind I found the post that I thought was there and have my answer.
I have finally managed to breed Dracomancy in the rift, I want another to evolve into Draco 4 do I have better odds continuing to breed or better odds single parent cloning?

This morning I bred a Draco in the rift! It's showing in my Dragonarium, so does mean I can tell which one it is. Now I don't know whether to evolve it or just feed it up a bit.

Cecilia at the Duckpond
If you bred Draco in the Rift you have Draco 1. It is the first one showing in the Dragonarium. Draco 1 is the only Draco that can be bred. The others need to be cloned.
If you evolve this Draco, you will have a gap in the Dragonarium as you need both Draco 1 and 4 to complete the Dragonarium.
Use this Draco to single parent clone another Draco in the Rift. The odds are quite good. Then you can evolve one of them to Draco 4 - or breed both Draco 1s together to get more that you can evolve if you want to.
