WOOT!!! Apparently the trick was to put SLEEPY dragons into the breeding cave. Kids woke me up at 5:15am so I pulled the Cactus and Quake out of my Breeding Areas and made them get busy again! One pair is still stoopid making me a Quake but the other sleepy geniuses FINALLY got it RIGHT!!!!!
Thank you all so much for the gems and the encouragement! NOW I can finally start trying for something else! LOL

God my 2nd Peri is very ellusive!!! I stopped breeding in 2 caves once I got my first and have got, seasonal x2, rain x2, and also trying for Gold Olly and Ironwood - no luck there. But I have switch back now to both caves till I get my second for egg display. Errgh Tree's and Chyrstals, this certaining is a hard combo!!!

I also have to announce the arrival in my nursery of not just a peridot egg, but my very first gem dragon!!!! I was so excited my husband got disgusted. I know I'm not part of the comp but couldn't think of a better place to announce it!!!
In my excitement I accidentally rushed the breeding, lol. Sorry Myke, no chance of putting an egg on display first here. But I may try for a second one. Getting the island has been a real game changer, for sure!
Lvl 27- silver oly, turbo baby gold, 2 peridot and one egg, two sapphire, sun dragon, two blue moons, equinox, silver. Goal list: more olys, PANLONG!!!

More good news Rain bred on first go so Rain1 is fattened up to level 10 and swimming happily in the water hab, love the wings and tail. Rain2 is sitting in the nest and will be swimming free in 6 hours. Have all 3 my peridot, so can use both caves to work on seasonal, ironwood and a few more olympus.
All we need is some more levels and then I can do some island rearrangement and decorating.
I saved gems for about a month and finally got my breeding cave upgraded. I fell prey to the rumor that - Viola`! New upgraded breeding spot will produce the rare/limited you've been trying for. Well I've been on a quest for Peridot number two, mixing in attempts for Oly, Seasonal and Panlong. I think I got a cactus in my schmancy remodeled cave....lol. As time is running short... August is in the last trimester and I have a full set of Oly dragons...I figured I better keep to my Peridot quest. So another set of uglies went into my EBS. Lo and behold, there sits Peridot number two!
Now my dilema....do I hatch it? Or should I display that purdy little egg and try for number three?

I'd be saving up gems for the next limited dragon. Being in this competition wasn't enough for me to NOT use gems trying to get Peridot. I expect I'll blow through several in the first few days of September blitzing for the Sapphire dragon, or whatever other limited dragon graces the market.

Been at a bachelor party in Florida. But I did manage to give gems to lostgirl while I was away, even though I haven't caught up on the reading.

Guess I should shift her daily "lucky gem" to Tommy now. Consider it sent as soon as they reload. I did somehow manage a plethora of bronze Olympus dragons and actually bred a gold Olympus dragon that I'm waiting to hatch. So I've completed my required set of Olympus dragons (though still need to breed another gold and obtain an extra gold Olympus egg for display). So now it's back to peridot display egg and then hopefully quick action on the new dragons before August ends. Glad to be home and alive, plus no one got arrested
Puh! I haven't been able to breed anything good for the last couple of days. 3 crystals 3 sonics blazing and cactus. I am still trying for that darn elusive Dodo not to mention I don't have a gold Olympus. I think I'll just sit in the corner with my crystals.
