equinox... Someone on FB said they were successful using Leap Year/Celtic combo and so I tried & my incubation time is showing another Celtic and sandbox doesn't even show that combo for Equinox.
So did I miss some news, does anyone know if Celtic is available for breeding?
Equinox has a locked parent of BLAZING. So LY/Cetlic will NOT get you equinox. However it can get you Celtic as one of the parents is Celtic and you can always breed a limited epic if you breed with at least one matching parent.
If I had to choose between information posted on FB by some random troll vs info supplied by Sandbox, I will take Sandbox every time.

I am lvl 17 and have been playing almost 2 weeks. However, since so much of this game is luck, I wonder if it is a good one for me. I tend to not be 'lucky'. However, I really enjoy the game. I might not be so frustrated except that I cannot even get Obsidian, Coral, Firefly, etc. I am about to give up on Pearl. Even though I have both Snow and Seaweed, I have done them so many times... Also, I have been keeping everything just to fill up my habitats to max out the money, but I have hopes that soon I will need one of the slots I have 6 Scorhes in or 7 Flowers that I will actually get a different dragon. Is it better to feed dragons that I anticipate selling or are they the same whether you sale them as an egg or high level dragon?
Quite a laugh that I might have summer - the most exotic dragon that I have is Pepper. Even the regular dragons, I only have 2 fro the Earth category and 1 from Fire, despite countless breedings.
My main hope at this point is to get 6 gems/day. If I can do that, I can get the EPI in 13 days. I am hoping that might help me a little. However, it does not help that so far all of the dragons I have hatched today are duplicates, so you do not get a bonus for them. I might try the Lightning and Salamander combo, just to see if i can get something different. Thanks for the tip - at this point, I am willing to do anything to get some variety.
L17 after just two weeks is actually quite good going. The early stages of the game can be quite frustrating. You need money and gems for so many things. And until you get them, you don't seem to be earning enough to ever get them. Yes the game depends on luck. But if it proves one thing it is that luck comes to those who are patient. I know I tried over 150 times before I got my first Ruby. And similar for my first Emerald. On the other hand, I got my first double rainbow on my first try after it was released. Others who started at the same time took over three months of continuous trying. It took me that long to get my first poison. A supposedly "easy" dragon.
Don't give up on any dragon. It will come eventually. Though I know dilldog may disagree. Concentrate on the limiteds you have the prerequisites for. Have a look at bloodstone's breeding forecast to plan your breeding for the next month. It really is quite well thought out
As for earnings, habitat caps tend to have a larger impact than an individual dragons earning rate. There is no point keeping a dragon that earns 300/ minute if it is in a habitat that can only hold 500. Unless of course you are prepared to sit there all day to tap every time the chest appears. Not many people do that for long. Put your dragons in the highest capacity habitat you can, and just leave them to earn DC. Avoid spending DC in the early stages. Leave those decorations alone until you have spare DC lying around. Similarly clear minimally. Clearing costs a lot of DC. You don't need to spend that early. Also BFS has a history of using clearances for bonuses during limited events. If you clear too early you will miss out during the next one. Use paths for decoration in the early stages. You get all your money back when you sell them so they are zero net cost.
Do get the colosseum early and enter daily. That 300/min dragon will earn you 432,000 DC if you win gold as well as 5 precious gems. And you will get a lot of XP into the bargain. Enter the highest level dragon you have with one element matching the event name. Skip the event if you don't have a suitable dragon. To this end, level your highest earning dragon for each element up as quickly as possible rather than levelling them all up evenly. It is quite feasible to level only three dragons to cover all the events. That that requires limited that you probably don't have yet. Four dragons, carefully selected, will do quite well for you
I have not figured out exactly how to "quote and reply" all in one step on this board. Thank you Greg Darcy for your words of encouragement! I have only bought decorations required for a goal, with the exception of a few brick paths and I have the Colosseum. The only time I really have issues with it are when it wants a metal dragon because I cannot get them yet. I will definitely look at his breeding guide. He gave me a different suggestion to try for a dragon - I did not get the dragon I was hoping to get, but I DID get one that I do not have. I am just not sure how many more times i can try for the pearl, when I am missing so many dragons that may help with future dragons.
Now, I have a different question: I have 5 or 6 of some dragons and I sold one dragon today to have room for a new . However, I remember reading somewhere that later you need a bunch of the element basic dragons for something... I do not have the cash for the place to store or stash dragons, but should I keep as many as I have and just leave them at low levels or is selling now a reasonable strategy as i get new ones. I do try to keep my dragons in habitats that provide the most money - as much as cash allows for those breeding habits.
Also, I have a goal to upgrade to 6 large farms. I already had most of my farms at large farms... any ideas what level I get more farms so that maybe i can complete that quest I have had for several levels? (probably should have posted this on the newbie board... just got carried away typing.
Now if I could just get enough gem buddies to get 6/day. I really want the EPI - I am holding out hope it will help me get some of the rarer dragons.

Hi debo, To quote and answer you just have to press the quote button and then write your text at the end of the quoted text. You can switch between "Preview" and "BBCode" if necessary. Preview shows you the message as how it will look like when posted. In BBCode you can see the beginning and end of a quote marked with "[ quote] " and " [ /quote]".
You don't need a bunch of the same dragon. Many people keep two of each because we have two breeding spots and so you can try at both with the same combination if necessary. Also it is good to keep two of the limited dragons. This way you can breed more of that limited even if it has expired. Formally breeding x and x gave you 100 % for a x as result. Since this has been changed by BFS some players tend to only keep one of every dragon.
In the past dragons could only be fed up to level 10 until you got the element shrine to silver. The element shrine required 50 dragons having that element and fed up to 10 to get to silver. Then those dragons could be fed to level 15 and the shrine turned golden which in consequence gave the possibility to feed the dragons past level 15. This had been changed completely. The shrines are not important any more and you can feed your dragons up to your actual level number (max 20). So you don't need more then 2 of every dragon. And you don't have to feed those dragons that you are going to sell.
Just keep the dragons for the income till you have another type..
Max of the farms is 11. So if you have 6 now you won't be able to complete the goal with future farms. I remember that it was important to UPGRADE to large farms and NOT TO BUY them. You don't have to complete that goal though. It is not obligatory. I would propose to wait until a later stadium of the game and to complete it then. There will come a phase when you have lots of dragon cash and maybe need XPs. Then you can sell a farm, buy a small farm and upgrade it to large.

Thank you for the tips on quoting!! So easy, but I kept expecting to need to post. Thank you very much for the gem offer, but I do not have a GCID - so all of my friends have to be fb friends. I did upgrade a couple of my farms, so, when i get to 11, it might complete. Otherwise, I will keep that in the back of my mind for when I have cash that is not already spent 4 ways . I have been working on gem buddies and got 4 yesterday, but I really need 6 to get the epi as soon as possible.
How do I find Bloodstone's breeding guide??

I can add you as a 4th "everyday", at least until you get more gem partners. If/when you want me to switch you to the rotation group, just stop returning gems to me for a couple days, or send me a private message here. My Facebook Id is in my signature below.

Thank you so much for the kind offer!! I may take you up on it. I have been working so hard at getting gem partners and not really getting any - like your offer, I have a couple of people that have added me into their rotation etc. until I can get 6 regular partners. Established players have been SO AWESOME!! I would have quit, had it not been for how friendly numerous people have been. This particular forum not only has fantastic people, but it also has awesome information!! If I do not have a sixth by the time I get mine tonight (I get them around bedtime) I will send you a request. Unless, you do not mind adding me for party hats etc. I still need additional people for those, but I know some have really long friend lists.
Just as a side note - I knew I should have given up on the Pearl dragon and worked on some of the basic ones that I do not have like mountain, river, obsidian, etc. However, I thought surely one more try will be successful - no such luck!
debo0464 don't give up on Pearl until it's gone. It will be a year until you can try again. Well 6 months if BEB is repeated, but I suspect not. Mountain, river, obsidian will be available to try for whenever you get a break from limiteds
If you are not aware, BEB stands for " Bring 'em Back". An event BFS have run for the last few years over December/January. During BEB, every limited dragon is available. However last year they didn't run the holiday decorations where the park gets snow, the trees changed colour, the visitors change (Santa, elves, etc) and so on. There were a lot of complaints. I am wondering if BFS are using the Comebacks to replace BEB so they can run the holiday animations. Last year they cited lack of processing power to do both as the reason they dropped the holiday theme.

I keep all my regular eggs in a grid. I can tell at a glance any that are missing Epics I keep in groups by type. If I am missing one I drop a flag in to say look at me. Other Limiteds are a bit tricky. My latest system is to place them up against the grid by their pedestal type. I haven't done it yet, but flags for missing ones should work here too.

Wow going to have to take a look at this
Little park only. I am building a labyrinth out of eggs in the big park. But i am only missing a couple there.

I have a grid also for my basic eggs. Epics, I grouped them by type so that I can more easily compare my groups with the list of eggs on the wiki.
And then they released the golden hybrids. And then the basic Light and Dark eggs... and I haven't incorporated them yet into my design. One day.
For the light and dark, I just expanded my grid by one egg in each direction. As for the gio slings, there are not enough yet to bother, so I am just lumping them in with my non epic limiteds for now. Eventually, I foresee another grid. On the big park, I have a separate strand of the labyrinth dedicated to them.
