Yes, some of that info is probably due for a clean up. Sorry about that.
The odds for breeding an uncommon dragon is the same no matter what combo is used. The Golden Hybrids are set at 5% chance, and this is the same for Cold + Earth or Lava + Storm. The only difference is the fails you can get and the average duration of them. Adding Lightning and Fire to the mix means you have added Firefly and Scorch as 3 hour fails, so sometimes You don't have to wait as long to try again.
You can spend gems to end the breeding quickly, but in the beginning you need gems for other things, like buying the breeding island. I prefer to save them and wait through the fails.

Hi folks, what does a level 1 lava dragon with a yellow boarder round its picture, with a ball over its head mean? Tapping on its picture doesn't give me any info...is there a wiki or BF list of these types of things I can refer to? I thought at one stage I was breeding a twin dragon,but nothing saying twin has hatched...is this it? Cheers

Thanks Cyn, love your sign! Reminds me of the Terry Pratchett character who breeds dragons! The Duchess:) What about the ball over its head? It's only level 1; is the ball because it's a twin? Then what happens when you level it up to crown level? I've now got a dragon with a turquoise boarder; is there a list of borders somewhere? Cheers

It is very confusing. But after Cyn 's wicked trick, I never let her catch me out anymore. Or Fletch_smf . You will notice that there are a few members who have different names to tag (that's what it's called) than their displayed name. They are just evil

I did a Search for "tag" to find out how to do it, but didn't make the distinction between gcid and forum name. Someday the fate of the world will hang on terminology . . .

Me again, and btw feel free to simply point me to the thread with these answers I've read this one top to toe, and am working thru breeding hints Q: I'm level 19; my metal hab is maxed out and I can't find a way to upgrade it ? Do I have to buy another wee one? I googled and wiki said I should be able to upgrade and that if I had the cash (don't ) I could go for GIANT hab ;( Thanks in anticipppppation ( a nod to TRHPS)
later...no worries, have gone to level 20 and suddenly there is an upgrade! I guess upgrades are not offered in the market greyed out...

For a giant habitat you should need 25 gems to upgrade. Glad you sorted the problem though!

When I have a specific question like this I go to the wiki. I usually do it by googling for (in this case) dragonvale metal habitat. Then I pick a link to the wiki from the results. I got this result and it tells you what level you can get the habitat, how much it will cost, how long to build, etc.: dragonvale.wikia.com/wiki/Large_Metal_Habitat
