First of all, here's the final version of my piece entitled "Alpenglow" for solo cello, piano, harp, and string orchestra (updated from last time)... give it a listen! soundcloud.com/kade-jackson-425244931/alpenglow-1
Second of all, I've updated Xi'ialoa (my speculative evolution astrobiology project) with many new creatures and landscapes - this can be found at sites.google.com/view/xiialoa. Additionally, I've launched a Discord server in an attempt to foster a strong, tightly-knit community focused on exploring the possibilities of alien life; if this interests you, it can be found at discord.com/invite/tz54E2dEy7. (Highlights from this project are pictured below!)
Thank you so much to everyone who's supported all my random projects so far! The best is yet to come...
Everything in this post is amazing. I'm not sure I have words for how talented you are.
The Crested Nemora, Nemora cristatus, is a small omnivorous species of nemora typically residing in humid environments found in morasses in Pratoria. They are immediately recognizable by their long, reaching tendrils, leaf-reminiscent appendages, and long spindly shape. They reproduce strictly parthenogenically, laying tiny "eggs" at the edges of rivers and lakes. Their "wings" are actually used primarily for traversing water; using them as flippers instead allows them to quickly traverse aquatic environments, where occasionally they leap upward out of the water to catch unsuspecting prey (akin to flying fish to some extent). Their flippers are also used for social display - during colder winter seasons, the largest and "flashiest" nemora leads a migration deep underwater into warm, subterranean areas under the morass-centric lakes. Hundreds of these animals can be observed taking part in a stunning display as they all dive into the water one by one. They typically grow to around .75-1 ft (.229-.305 m) tall and typically weigh less than 1 lb (.454 kg).
OboeKade, I love the Crested Nemora and its detailed description! I envision this to be a colourful creature with the flashiness of a peacock, as they dive into the water, one after another — like the most synchronised of synchronised swimmers.
And I’ve joined the server!

Yes, I’d definitely imagine something like that! Imagine a whole school of them jumping in and out of the water 😁
And I’m very happy to have you on the server

Dragon inspired by hammerhead worms and velvet worms 🐛
Oh my goodness, I love this worm, Worms! ❤️
It reminds me a little of Brizoni, due to the head shape and colours. Maybe you can create a worm evolution for the DV dragons. Wormify all the dragons so they can evolve into their new worm-state!!

that sounds like a fun design idea 😄 I may consider it
I've also finally updated my wiki blog to show more of my past contest entries and some that were done randomly for fun. 🙂 I'll probably be updating it more if others are interested in seeing more of my dragons in one place.

These are awesome @worms and it is great seeing everything in one place. It is interesting seeing how different each dragon is - some share similarities in style while others are so totally different. You are very creative and talented. 😊

Thank you 😊 Getting the DV style down is tough, so I'm tryna make a good mix of BF and DECA. I still got work to do but I'm having fun doing it

Your dragons fit with both styles! They've got the not-overly-complex-ness of Backflip's designs that means the details wouldn't become unnoticeable and blurry if they were in the game, but the more serious aspect of DECA's designs. It works really well!

I have your blog bookmarked now! I’d like to see more of your drawings on it. Carnival’s return immediately reminded me of your rendition.

I got bored today and decided to work out which three-primary-element combos don't yet have dragons that have those elements as shown elements. I wondered whether any of the creative people here might be interested in making dragons to fill in the gaps if you wanted an idea for a project 🤷♀️ I have vague ideas for a couple but I'm not an artist so couldn't draw them out if I tried 😂
- Air cold metal: my immediate thought was something like a comet, although those are obviously in space not air so it doesn't quite work. - Air cold plant: it seems like there's a lot of possibilities with this one. - Air light water: considering the Paradise habitat's elements, I'm surprised this hasn't been done already. Something to do with rainbows. - Air lightning cold - Air lightning dark - Air lightning light - Air lightning water - Cold metal dark - Cold metal fire: some fusion of Forge and Frostfire 😂 (though is that already done with Coldforge?) - Cold metal light: something about reflection. - Cold metal water - Cold light water: something like ice. - Dark earth light: sunrise/sunset or something. - Dark metal lightning - Dark metal water - Earth light water - Fire lightning water - Light metal lightning: something like spark. - Light metal plant - Light metal water - Lightning water metal - Lightning water plant: Shockflower or something 😂

Oh, nice! My next DragonVale related project is going to be filling in the rest of the golden hybrids, but I might take a look at these after I finish those

My Ideas:
- Air/cold/metal: Meteorite Dragon. It would look kind of similar to Meteor. Combo - Meteor and Cold element? - Air/cold/plant: Hellebore Dragon (hellebores are flowers which usually bloom during the winter). It could have attributes similar to Rose or Dandelion, but with lavender-colored petalscales. Combo - Bloom + Winter? - Air/light/water: Macaw Dragon. Perhaps similar to Gawk having a birdlike appearance. Would have blue scales. Combo: Gawk + Gryphus? - Air/lightning/cold Snowanado dragon. It would have attributes similar to both the Vortex Dragon and the Cyclone Dragon. Combo: Blizzard + Cyclone? - Air/lightning/dark Monsoon Dragon. Would have something to do with really, really heavy rain and strong thunderstorms. Combo: Surge + Howl? - Air/lightning/light Discharge Dragon. Would have something to do with static discharges that can travel through the air. Combo: Shining + Air element? - Air/lightning/water Hurricane Dragon. Would have something to do with well, tropical storms and hurricanes. Combo: Storm + Rain? - Cold/metal/dark Sauron Dragon (yes, this a LOTR reference). Something to do with a crazed dragon who really likes magical rings. Combo: Clairvoyant + Metal element? - Cold/metal/fire: Glasswork Dragon. Something to do with how glass is heated, melded into shapes, then cooled to make beautiful artwork. Combo: Murano + Forge? - Cold/metal/light: Haunted Dragon. Has something to do with the fact that certain mythical creatures, especially vampires, have no reflection. Combo: Mirror + Phantom? - Cold/metal/water Icebreaker Dragon. Has adapted to the frozen seas, and has tough claws to slice through thick ice. Combo: Icebound + Metal element? - Cold/light/water: Cyro Dragon. Something about being able to become frozen at will, and stay that way for as long at it enjoys. Combo: Glare + Ice? - Dark/earth/light: Sunseeker Dragon/Twilight Dragon. A dragon in which is always seen following the sunset/sunrise. Combo: Dawn + Dusk? - Dark/metal/lightning Cyborg Dragon. A dragon which is, well, half artificial. Combo: Spark + Metal? - Dark/metal/water Subnauticus Dragon. Some type of dragon evolved to withstand the crushing forces of the deep. Is armored. Combo: Abyss + Shield? - Earth/light/water A good secondary type for the Oasis Dragon (pictured above). - Fire/lightning/water: Vaporized Dragon. Something similar to steam but also having characteristics like plasma. Combo: Steam + Lightning element? - Light/metal/lightning: Roddy Dragon.A dragon which has qualities similar to a lightning rod, and is able to attract lightning to its horns. Combo: Shockproof + Gamma? - Light/metal/plant:ColeopteraDragon. A dragon which has qualities similar to that of beetles, and can refract light with their scales. - Light/metal/water: Dilla Dragon. A dragon which has qualities like a turtle, though also like an armadillo. Lives in deserts. Combo: Surge + Radiant? - Lightning/water/metal: Conductive Dragon. Something to do with the how metals carry electric current through water. Combo: Current + Steel? - Lightning/water/plant: Kelpie Dragon. Has qualities similar to the Seaweed Dragon, but tends to live better in stormy conditions. Combo: Seaweed + Lightning element?

Don't worry, I have a hunch that the Jackal Dragon is going to make it. If not, it could be because the creator has already had one of their designs implemented, OR that for whatever reason it gets most liked instead of on the top 5.

This was my idea for the contest entry. Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten good reception so far.
A lot of people wanted to ask why it is a fire/water, and here's the two big reasons:
It lives in a desert habitat, typically in really, really hot areas. As a result its sandscales can radiate heat like a fire dragon
We don't have a Fire/Water golden hybrid yet
I really like your Oasis dragon - I love how he has a grainy/sandy look which is perfect for the desert. He also looks very friendly. I think he is too good to be a rare hybrid, I can see him in the Paradise events as a limited rare. 😊
