Was looking into this issue for another member this week. The following is what they said was the fix.

Just an update. I did a hard reset of my phone. Back to factory defaults and not getting this issue. On my Lumia 521 windows phone 8.1 or Lumia 1320 windows phone 8. (process of upgrading to 8.1)

Have not heard back from the other member to know if this helped, or not.

This is a ridiculous solution.
In fact, i found how to get rid of it, in the settings, safari, coockies and block them all.
No problem then, but ... It also blocks videos in newspaper and probably other things.
Thus, am now on the app and will probably read less and less of the forum as i do not like the forum app.

See if clearing your history and cookies on safari works. I often had a problem where visiting a page would redirect me to something like the apple home page or facebook. It was really annoying.

That was the first thing Viviane Was asked to do, she said it didn't help.

Proboards is aware of the problem, but that doesn't help our members today.

I set the settings to block all cookies.
The nnext time I tried to get on THIS page the following appeared


I went back to the forum and tried it again.
Seems to work for now

But now I can't see the Preview of this post I'm writing.
If appending pictures or quoting several posts, I usually check them first...

Blocking all coockies works but then
... I can't use the preview when making/editing a post
... I don't have the wheel sign at the top right corner of each post ( which I use very often to get back to the top of the page)
... I can't vote in a poll
Maybe many things more.

But when I allow the cookies, it happens in 90 % of the time that I can't read the newest page of the most read thread, because it always takes me to the app store.

This is very annoying !
I don't want to buy the app. I have read this forum for years now without.
Does proboards know about this problem ?
If it continues it may result in stopping me from reading this forum.

I have finally solved the problem by updating my ipad to ios 8.1 earlier this week. All is back to normal on the web forum.
But, i don t like the new layout and functions of Safari, however this is another story.
Marion have you upgraded your ipad?

No, I haven't because my husband warned me, that that could be the final shot for my old ipad.
I still have ios 7.1
But when this solves the problem, I might give it a try...

I have an iPad 2, and never have any problems reading or posting (heh heh) on here when I was on iOS 7 or iOS 8 now. You think the prob is in the setting, Crumble? I can check it tonight. Many kids have accesssed to the iPad, and I leave it to them to play. They prob. changed something that I dont know about.

Considering that the problem arose when trying to open any thread of the forum, action which led to a simultaneous opening of a website which then close immediately and I was redirected to the app store there faced with an offer to buy a game app, i go from the point of view that there is a leak in the security of the forum itself. I.e at proboard.
Not specifically our forum.

They do, I just don't see any progress in solving it. Sorry you all are having problems with it. Hope upgrading doesn't make your iPad unusable. Let us know.

So, I updated to ios 8.1.
Everything seems to be running. Phew.
I don't like that the menu bar in safari is been switched off now. I work a lot with the "go to previous page" button ( <) and switch a lot between different pages too.
But I will get used to it.
If the problem is totally solved with this will have to be proved though. This morning I had one "ride" to the app store. But only one. Afterwards I could access the page. Maybe this time I really tapped on the wrong place.
I will leave you informed about that.

Just a side note: after upgrading to 8.1 the sound was totally garbled, everything went back to normal after an Ipad reboot.
So, just for the sake of good order, do a reboot

A clock has been added to the top right of the forum. It displays MST, which is BFS time. Hope it helps everyone get a sense of when event currencies reset.
