Poppy I'm new to your group so I will ask you here is there any way the lovely people could be encouraged to start making new thread topics up in completely new threads? I love reading the chat thread but there are about 6 different conversations going and all that re posting is driving me bonkers, it's very hard to keep up. It must be incredibly hard for those reading on phones, it's hard enough on the iPad. It's been a few years since I have been on one of these chat sites, and I'm not sure of this websites limitations being free and all. For example; One thread on the emoticon topic. One on the IPF thing. One on game of thrones Etc, etc. I know everything is still new and people are getting used to the new formats. Thanks Tracey
I like your idea Tracey, but what is a good management tool could become unwieldy if we break it down too finely. There's no limit to how many threads we could have. Anyone else have some thoughts on this?

So why not make a general thread ie books, movies, tv shows movies...then if you wanted to talk about The Office it would go under tv shows..
Many things will resolve in time, the emoticons, IPF (in a few days that will be total history) etc. If so wished, threads about other games, your book thread etc. even the photobucket will have played its role when all have got the way of publishing pictures. Will become a How to for newcomers. Etc.
One thing which is a bit ennoying: i use the app and when quoting you do not have the info of who wrote this. Additionnally, the signatures do not show up on the app. I have noted that you - Poppy - put your name after each msg you write, which is very helpful. I should do it too. Re the quoting prob, it could be helpful if, when quoting and replying, the writer would start his/her sentence with the name of the person quoted. We used to do this on chats, because your reaction could only show up aftef x many lines. Viv

Normally on bulletin boards like this you have certain break down sections. For example you might have one section technical. Where people would start a topic for each new problem. E.g photobucket, then another emoticon help, then another help my sig doesn't work. Etc. Also you would have a general chat forum where you could have multiple threads going about one movies, two books and so on. Plus of course let's not forget topics on dragonvale lol. So we don't have room for that? Is that because this is a free site? Apologies I don't have too much technical knowledge. Could we all pool a few dollars each? Plus I know you have all been playing in a single thread and having loads of fun, it's probably only a few newbies like me that are very confused. Tracey

I tried uploading form my IPad photos. It gets to upload this photo to...but the "this forum" button is not lit, and will not activate. Suggestions?
Am having no issues loading images from an outside hosting site on the computer, but am having the same problem trying to upload from the iPad. Was looking around the help section for ProBoards and found the following: support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=app&action=display&thread=389723 Is it possible for an admin to check the setting they refer to?

This would make things a lot easier for sure. People would have to get use to it but it works, this I know from experience....

Poppy, I love the ProBoards app, but unable to post images from the "Open Advanced Options" tab. I can get to choosing an image, at the bottom of the option it says "Upload To...." and the option for "This Forum" is grayed out. Searched on the mobile app help forum and found another user with this same issue. Here is their reply back to him:
"Currently that forum has it set so only staff can post attachments on the forum. They can change this by going into the admin panel, then click the 'modify board' link. Select a board and click 'continue' and the very last option on the page for "Post Attachments:" will be what they need to change"
Is it possible this could be done so we can upload images directly from our iPads? I already have 2 image sharing accounts and really am not keen about adding Photobucket for a 3rd. Thanks for your attention.

You are welcome, I agree it will save steps for sure.
congrats pixie you are so clever that makes things so much easier x x x
Just glad we have it now. Was sure that Poppy had said this available right from the beginning, but it just wasn't working. There must be an awful lot of settings to choose from to get a board working the way they want, will most likely take some time to get it all figured out. So glad our admins are willing to work with us.
