I have a regular and twin Macabre. I thought i could wish for one and it would be rifted, but it looks like it would be a twin. Can you not wish for rifted versions of dragons?
Unfortunately, no. You will have to try and breed one. I also need a Macabre in the rift and despite trying all week, have been able to breed one.
Come and sit with me in the whine lounge, we can share this excellent cheese platter and bottle of wine.
I'll join you. Have been trying for a rifted Macabre since the beginning of the event, up to now without success.

I don’t know if Drow visits this board much, but I rely heavily on the sandbox, and right now the quest portion has been down for several hours!
Same here. I’m completely at a loss without the sandbox’s quest page. Anyone know of an alternative for finding the perfect dragon for a quest?
Wondering if the sandbox is ever going to be fixed. I thought I saw something a week or so ago about changes to the wiki, did anyone else see it? I know the search function doesn’t seem to work as well anymore either because I tried searching for relic of the epics and it didn’t come up. I had to do a google search to find the page in the wiki.
I see they finally added Wendigo, but the quests are still not working 😫 - 🍷🍷🍷

RED the sandbox quests are not working, they are pulled from the wiki pages, but as the wiki was moved to another site or a different format (can't remember exactly, there was an explanation that popped up at the top of the page, but it has gone now) the link that the sandbox uses doesn't work. drow possibly doesn't realise that the quests don't work.
There are two pages in the wiki for quests Gaia Quests and Quests Not sure why there are two pages as they both draw from each other. The Gaia page shows as a template page, which doesn't have comments. The Quest page has comments at the bottom. They are both incredibly slow to load. Both links are also in the Encyclopaedia Dracontine

RED, I’ve always used wiki to search for quests. As MinyaZ said, the sandbox derives its quests from wiki, so I never found a need to rely on the sandbox for quests. And if it isn’t working... wiki is the best option.
MinyaZ, I recently added the wiki quest link to the ED when there were complaints about the sandbox’s quest page not working a couple weeks ago. I posted about the link addition above. Gaia’s Quests have been on the ED for ages. I don’t know if there was a preference for that format, or if it was something Drow was using, but it’s much more awkward and slow to scroll through than wiki’s site, so I’ll delete it. No sense in having two quest links for the same info.

I knew there was something that changed, but just like you I don’t recall what the pop-up message said. I was asking because it’s rough for us new guys that don’t have all the dragons (or even most) as it is only lists the best dragon, not all dragons you can use. I still haven’t figured out these “hidden elements”, I know they exist but haven’t had the time to research it. The search function doesn’t pull up the hidden elements, obviously, so often times I’m left with no dragons that match the specific combination. That’s why I was hoping that someone might know if the sandbox quest page might be fixed 🤞🏻.
Edit: I found where I can find the epic dragon hidden elements, but far too much work to dig through. I’m guessing with enough time I’ll start to remember, but a struggle for now for us newbies for sure.

RED As you know, a quest will only give you two chests if you use the perfect dragon. The elements listed for a quest, are that dragon's hidden elements - or some if they have more than four elements. If you don't have the perfect dragon, use a low level, low earning hybrid or rare dragon that matches one or more of the elements of the quest. You will still receive one chest. You don't need to try and match all the elements and you don't need to use an epic dragon.
So, this whole conversation confuses me, not that it’s hard to do. The sandbox for quests works for me and has not broken recently. I use dvbox.bin.sh/quests.html// on my iPad 2018 running iOS 12.3.1. It lets me select the elements shown in the quest or select by name of the quest. It shows the dragons with the elements and their applicable quests. It also then shows below all the dragons that have those elements hidden in them.

Does this not work for everyone?
I can select elements, but the results come back as no quests and follows with a list of dragons that meet the selection. If I pick a quest from the drop down list, it just says no quests and doesn't list any dragons. My iPad is older (dragonvale is too much for it) and is running ios12.4.8 (there's an update available), but my iPhone is on ios14.1. I use chrome to access the website. Tried safari and duckduckgo - same thing.

When I select the name of the quest on my iPhone 11 with iOS 14.1, the sandbox works for me too lisgie. After reading all these issues, I just now noticed that I can also select elements What a goof I am.

The sandbox wasn’t working for about a week and finally started working again about ≈ 2 days ago YAY! Like FluffyRae said, you could select a quest from the list, but it was returning “no quest” as the results. I’m just glad it’s back up and running - Thank you, thank you to whoever got it working again!

Thank you for the tip to use low levels when I don’t have the perfect dragon - I had been using my higher earners/epics 🤦♀️.
I do have a follow-up question though: I’ve used the perfect dragon and many times only received one chest, so I thought it impacted the “prize” that you got and not how many chests. Are others receiving 2 chests when using the perfect dragon??

There isn’t a set schedule for the Expansion Extravaganza. But it is definitely overdue. We’ve asked Deca to do an Extravaganza repeatedly for months. They won’t release the dates for the mini-event, probably because they don’t want to be locked into a date when events and bugs and other things can unexpectedly change the schedule. They’re aware players everywhere want an Extravaganza; we just don’t know when it’ll occur.

Would you say it’s more of an annual or semi annual thing or something completely random? I remember the last one, I just don’t remember when it was.

At least a couple times a year. The Extravaganza is way overdo.

You should keep a traited twin. Here's the reason why: I didn't care about rift twin or normal twin. When I got a rifted twin from a dragon (by mystery egg) and already had a normal twin and a rifted dragon, then I released the new rifted twin (I didn't want doubles in the rift and didn't want to feed the new dragon either, because it's costy feeding rift dragons). In consequence I now probably get this same rifted twin as a login reward instead of another dragon of which I don't own a rifted version.
I agree with this. I would keep the traited-twin too. They’re generally more difficult to obtain than regular twins.
Some players (like Quil) might sell the traited-twin because they collect twin and traited-twin pedestals and a traited-twin dragon will block their ability to receive these pedestals from mystery eggs. But since Kiwichris isn’t concerned about pedestal collections and is looking for dragons to sell (while retaining potential Dragonarium fires in the future), the traited-twin is more desirable.
I was really hoping that there would be some limit to the number duplicates when purchasing mystery eggs since, despite the fact that I am still missing several epics, I rarely get a new dragon. I decided to purchase an epic mystery egg - got a twin Ire. Determined to get a new dragon, I bought a regular egg of mystery and got a twin-traited Leap Year. I already have 2 regular, 1 twin, 1 rift, & 1 traited twin, so I was surprised (and disappointed) to get another twin-traited. I only have 1 pedestal and it’s traited, so I guess now it at least has a buddy. Is there something in the coding to prevent this and he’s just an oopsie?

It’s not an error; it is by design. This is the pattern for mystery eggs purchased in the Rift market. It randomly selects a dragon and its type (regular, twin, traited-twin) is based on what you own. The mystery eggs don’t recognise your dragon inventory and what you’re missing, so you can end up with duplicates.
The Daily Reward (Rare, Epic, Galaxy, Gemstone/Crystalline) Egg of Mystery will give you an unowned dragon. But if you own all the rare, epic, galaxy, gemstone/crystalline dragons, it’ll randomly give you a dragon from the category. It doesn’t acknowledge any missing twins or traited twins.

Ok, i am soooo p...d off by all crashes, playing in black and white etc, that I decided to make myself a gift (asl L’Oreal says : “ cose your worth it” ) and I ordered an IPad Pro. Hopefully It will solve all problems. Now I know it’s much more sophisticated then my IPad Air but hope I will manage. T will be my third IPad and my 12th computer since 26 years Lol
