Fletch - not sure if its related, but there is a famous painting by Rembrandt called Nightwatch and it is very dark. Not sure if that is the origin of the Watch dragon.
I have seen this artwork in the Rjiksmuseum in Amsterdam. It is a very imposing work, taking up most of a wall. It is this painting that Terry Pratchett based his 'Men at Arms' Discworld book on.
There are also the Watchwhers of Anne McCaffrey's Dragons of Pern series. They guarded the weyr and hold at night.
And also the Night's Watch in GRR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, guarding the Wall from the White Walkers and worse...
And then there's Knightrider, starring David Hasselhoff, who also stars in Baywatch.

That Cave dragon gives me the creeps, went straight to the FOY. Root is uggly too, watch is ok and the best so far, fungus is kind of funny looking. Baby dark looks like a wale lol Waiting for the two last of this serial to finish breeding, nightshade and dungeon, then to the eggs. I don t think i will bother to have a second one of each.
Never mind the fungus. I got the doctor to make a house call to my little park. At last! That's around six months of continuous trying. Luckily I have been able to mostly treat it as a potential fail for something else. It is this time too. My attempt for Jet has been pushed back a couple of days. Sigh.

I must say. I'm not regretting voting for Light now that I've seen both. The Dark eggs are AWFUL. I don't prefer the dragons I've seen yet. (I do like the Dark Rift Dragon) The Large Dark habitat is BEAUTIFUL.
But overall I like the Light eggs, dragons, etc. MUCH better.

I also prefer light eggs and dragons. Maybe because i love everything shiny and colourful or it is my inner 12 year old girl inside me.
I've got most of the dark dragons and all of the light so far, as well as a jet. Pretty happy with where I'm at.
HOWEVER. Real life will be interfering from tomorrow for about three weeks, so gem gifting may fall behind. To all involved, my apologies. I will return your gems. Eventually.

Have at least one of each of the new Dark dragons and my favourite is Nightshade. I think Root is cool looking and I find Cave creepy... They are all quite ugly but 'dark' things tend to be on the more unattractive side of nature. I would never hide them away... I love the fact that they are so different from previous dragons BFS has done an awesome job of reigniting my passion for the game (not that it had gone out in the first place, lol) ;D
