I don’t know the actual grid size, but it’s considerably larger than the standard islands.  Guessing by eyeball, I’d say it’s about 30% larger than the standard island.

I need help!
I'm trying to unlock Nubbleberries.
I only have 11 treat farms, I missed out on the additional 12th one.
Of these 11 farms 6 are upgraded to towers.
I arranged them all in a block and planted Zazzberries and Omega Squash like this

I did this several times, but the Nubbleberries haven't unlocked yet.
Is there something else I have to do or do I only have to be persistent?

Oh and I didn't use the regrow button, I selected all farms manually

So many new treats and dragons out of reach.
I only have two treat farms, and I don't have the item needed to raise dragons to level 20. Nor do I have a Sprout dragon or Seed dragon. And that Karroot dragon is so cute, I really want one.

It usually takes several tries to unlock the cross-pollination treats. Be sure the Towering Treat Gardens are touching. The golden glow of cross-pollination will illuminate. Once they’re unlocked, they will be available permanently, which is amazing.

Were you able to unlock Meta-carotene? I really hope you did 😀. Players need at least two Towering Treat Gardens to cross-pollinate, so your six Gardens are plenty. I think the 25 gems to upgrade the farms to Gardens is one of the best deals in the game, thanks to Meta-carotene. Haven’t had a Dragon Cash flow problem since and stopped using wishes on the most expensive island a while ago, just pay with cash. Treats are abundant (only grow Meta-carotene when needed), and I now use them to feed my Rift dragons (never thought I’d ever say that) to save Etherium for more breeding. I’m still surprised they let Meta-carotene be permanent.

For those who don’t have the Towering Treat Gardens, the best treat value is a tie: Talon Taters and Fiery Figs. Both cost 25 DC/treat. Meta-carotene is 24 DC/treat. One DC might not sound like a lot, but it adds up super quick. If you plant Fiery Figs in 11 farms it’ll cost 22 million DC more than if you planted Meta-carotene.

For those interested, here are the 'recipes' to unlock the cross-pollination treats:

Meta-carotene: Sarjin Peppers + Blushroom
Jive Chive: Dragonfruit + Beanstalk
Nubbleberry: Zazzberries + Omega Squash
Cubetuber: Pumpermelon + Dragon Root

I think this is it. This is what the new pared-down events will look like. The good news is there has been progress towards keeping DV running via bot for who knows how long (years?) with no updates. The bad news is there’s no new content and players who have all the dragons may lose interest and stop playing.

As long as we get to keep our parks and keep playing I'll be happy.

I love this game so much, and there's always so much to collect, so many dragons I don't own. It might be kind of nice to just leisurely play the game, steadily working towards completing my collection without getting a bunch of new dragons dumped on me every couple of days.

I also have 11 treat farms, so that’s not the problem.  Your park has to be up to at least level 11.

I never got a notice that I’d unlocked them.  They just showed up on my available treat list.  So check there first and see if they’ve sneaked in on you.  If not, you’re going to have to keep trying.

I think it tells you at the time you plant whether you’ve gotten Nubble Berries.  Omegas take 10 hours, Zazzberries take 30 minutes.  So you can retry multiple times by manually harvesting and replanting just the Zazzberries before the Omegas are ripe.   Or don’t harvest your Omegas.  Just manually harvest and replant your Zazzberries.  They’re still planted next to each other, it’s a lot cheaper and, if needed, you can retry in 30 minutes instead of 10 hours.

So, does this mean the winter event will also not have any new content? That's it??

My only worry is that if there is no updates then ”Bring Em’ Back” will no longer be a thing, so that would mean we can not obtain every item and dragon in the game unless they add everything back for an unlimited amount of time. Any thoughts on this?

Sorry, it’s been busy today, but I’ll answer some of these questions quickly, or try to.

The Reddit mod had contacted a BFS employee and apparently the plan was/is to run DV via bot with seasonal events. Given the complexity of events (event store, event currency, mini-games, etc), it was hard to imagine this being implemented without an update or some kind of support. However, with the minimalistic, pseudo-event version of Om of Noms, I can kinda see it. If in-app purchases are left on and no full staff to pay, money could be made from those brave enough to make a purchase with no DV future guaranteed. Hasbro probably wouldn’t make a lot of money, so they might find it’s not worth it, but maybe they’re willing to test it out. DV World essentially ran this way for a while, and with its recently announced removal, there’s concern DV will follow.

Om of Noms brought several improvements/updates to the game: if you release Rift breeds for Etherium you’re now shown the xp amount you earn, and the Dragonarium has a new Om of Noms subcategory. Most developers wouldn’t make changes and improvements to a game that’s slated to end in a couple months. This, along with the new version of the event, could indicate the first small steps toward a life with bots.

Of course, until Hasbro or BFS confirms, everything we think remains speculation. And since they were never really chatty when the game was in full swing, we remain in the dark. I’ve said it before, and will so again, the only thing we know for certain is Backflip Studios is closing and employees have been laid off.

This is what I fear. I can see how it’s easier to run a generic, old content, non-event Xmas event than a newly developed one.

The email from BFS that I posted several weeks ago, does say they 'look forward to adding more content and events in DragonVale this season'. It was written on 31 October; the only new content that hadn’t been released was Macabre. This email gives the impression new content will be added later in the year, not just one more dragon next week.



Perhaps BFS changed their plans. We shall see what the season brings.

Last night 🌙 I planted my gardens before bed and this morning when I harvested
the gardens (I do one by one not on mass) a message came up saying that I
had achieved a new treat...... Meta-Carotene. When I checked the list before
I replanted it shows Meta-Carotene is unlocked. 😊 Don't know if this helps
anyone or not.

Used adlerist  "recipes" from the post about eight back from this one.

I am happy as long as they keep it in BEB mode so I can continue to breed all the missing ghostlies, twins, and rifts... And maybe I can achieve breathing blue fire eventually (if they continue to keep that feature too!)...   
And of course, I can probably spend hours decorating and redecorating my park...

We are not really sure, see comments up a few posts and in the Halloween thread

What the Overlords decide to do to wring a few more cents, pennies, from the golden goose they killed, has not been announced yet that I’m aware of.

All I can say is they better keep it open for some time after the holidays as I need the time to create my LOTR themed Islands on the right side of my park. Currently it’s a mess but I don’t plan on leaving it that way.

DV World is ending on 20 December. Nobody knows what will happen with the original DV, but it’s been extremely interesting hearing everybody’s predictions. I appreciate everyone who posted their thoughts and theories here and on the Hallowe’en thread. It’s a fascinating read. Any of them can come true.

I think there will still be players who don’t even know that anything is happening.   A lot don’t read any sort of social media or these forums.  Two of my friends who play had no idea until I told them this morning.

Sorta what I was wondering... If DV is just gonna keep running without new stuff, then BEB should be ‘turned on’ and left on.  Is BEB on now?
