Oh, I see what you’re saying, thank you for clarifying that for me! It looks like Deca fixed the problem. Celtic and Equinox are both showing their correct availability times in the Social menu and the Market. Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy!
Celtic and blazing match because for both dragons the last call has now gone out. However, if you look at any other limiteds: clover, hooded, quartz, spring, etc, the market timer has two extra days compared to the social menu timer. Thanks for reminding me that Celtic is still available, though. I was thinking yesterday was the last day. I’m glad to have a few more chances to try for a rift version.
I also noticed in the social menu for Celtic and Equinox, it now says LAST CALL: "Name of Dragon" Available through "Date". For the other dragons it says RETURNING: "Name of Dragon" or NEW: "Name of Dragon" followed by some phrase. "Spring has Sprung" for Spring, or "It's so perfectly shiny!" for Quartz.
I had seen something on the forum about resetting your advertising identifier, but had no idea how to do it. I looked in options in DragonVale to see if it was there. I saw the FAQ tab, thinking it might have something about it. I had to chuckle when this message came up:
This Connection is Not Private
This website may be impersonating "support.backflipstudios.com" to steal your personal or financial information. You should go back to the previous page.
I finally found what I wanted by doing a search here on the forum. I guess I should have tried that first. I was getting adds that would take forever to load, and I am hoping resetting the advertising identifier will get rid of them.
This is a returning glitch from Jolly Jubilee. It’s been a very, very long time since we’ve been able to use the Twilight Tower and Weather Station. In my last email to Deca, I requested they fix the issue so the Twilight Tower is never overridden by the event theme. Deca said they’d look into it. So hopefully (please!) this doesn’t occur with the next event. Because not only does it render the Twilight Tower useless, it also makes it more difficult for players to breed a dragon that requires nighttime.
Plus, the default Day theme is the worst.
I agree that this is an annoying problem that hopefully DECA can fix soon or by the next event (Easter?)
Do DECA know that this has been happening for months, well before they took DV over?
Yes, they know. I told Deca the Twilight Tower is an ongoing issue since Jolly Jubilee. If you or anyone else who’s inconvenienced by this wants to send them a quick email, maybe they’ll be compelled to fix it now; otherwise, it probably won’t be addressed until the next event. (It’s not a problem if there’s no event, but breaks between events have been very short.)
These are some of the most important and/or frequently requested issues on the forum over the last month that I mentioned to Deca:
1. Increase the percentage of habitats that payout Magic and lift the habitat cap on Double Magic days (done).
2. Tolzar as a permanent feature in every park, regardless if the player made a purchase (positive response, follow-up email sent with additional questions/concerns from the forum).
3. Confirm end date for event (done).
4. Fix the Twilight Tower so the event theme never overrides the selected theme (passed on to the dev team).
I realise it was a little harsh of me to say the default/Day theme is the worst. I meant, in comparison to the other themes. I do find it a tad irritatingly bright, but my main objection to it is the music. I love, love, love all the music in the game — except for one tune that’s attached to the Day theme — a high-pitched, fingernails-on-the-chalkboard, startlingly loud flute solo. It forces me to mute the game. And since I thoroughly enjoy all the other music and sound effects, I’ve grown a little bitter towards the muting, the flute, and the inability to change themes. Aside from that, it’s all good.

OMG THAT FLUTE!!! 😵😵😵 LOLOLLOLLOLOOLLOOOLLLLOL! When I'm having a good time calmly playing Dragonvale suddenly that flute starts and it's 5x louder than anything else in the game. It's so loud it scares me lol! Now I'm no longer relaxed I'm all stressed out 😨😨😨😨! I'd be way happier if there was no flute.
I got my new iPad nine months ago, not to play DV, but I loved the big screen and more memory, that it became my DV device. On my original kindle I had to play with motion decorations in storage, color turned off, all that stuff... On the iPad I went crazy decorating, all is out of storage, in full color, everything except orbs (they are individually turned off). Recently my game has been crashing. This morning when collecting, and watching the video in the colosseum. At reset it crashed renaming a dragon. I also have a long list of twins in gifts. So what do you suggest to stop the crashing. I am new to iPad, and know no tricks on making this better. (6th gen if that makes a difference, software is up to date)

Hi theresa, there are some things you can do to minimize crashing problems. Sadfully the park then doesn't look as good
1. try to free memory on your ipad: close the game and force a restart of the device. Close all other apps before starting DV (maybe there is sort of memory optimization in the settings too?) 2. set the game to low resolution mode 3. set the weather with the weather station to none (must be done at each start at the moment) 4. a long gift list in the social menu can cause problems. Look through your twins. if there are some that you don't need, abandon them 5. turn off the island decoration 6. turn off the orbs of the dragons 7. put decorations with a lot of animation in storage
and these are points that were helpful in the past but I don't know if they have any effects now (I don't have an ipad no more) 8. sell dragons that you don't need 9. if you have a looong list of friends in the social menu, cut it down
hope that helps.

This list is all the things I did on my older kindle. In less than a year my iPad is the same way. I’m disappointed. if someone with an iPad has any other trick, please let me know!
theresa, I have an older iPad Pro than your model, on older iOS version (11.4.1) and for a very long time I have had ‘hang’ times every time loading up a new breeding pair, when breeding in the Rift, and a few other things I can’t recall. Last night it was very shaky and crashed once. I have all orbs except Elders and my House dragon orb turned off, no gift eggs waiting. I have found I have to give it time to process my actions; if I speed clear islands collecting dc, I can guarantee I will cause a crash. Tolzar was also not available even in my baby park last night. I had put it down to increased use of broadband by a country due to go into Coronavirus lockdown, ie much higher load on phones, and broadband and cell services... but who knows...actually tv was also glitching last night, not tonight...so maybe number of users or maybe atmospheric conditions... don’t know
So, all I can suggest is partly what @crumble suggested; I regularly force close my iPad to clean it out, and I clear dc more slowly, and I keep my gifts cleaned out, never let them build up (I recall others way back during an event comparing how that created freezes and crashes); and I always have effects turned off (ie not the weather one, the one that turns off the dang confetti we have at present) I hope some of this might help! Others might chip in with extra ideas...

I use an iPad Pro (6GB RAM) and iPhone 8 (2GB RAM). Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do to prevent crashes if your device has less than 4GB RAM, except what crumble608 mentioned — which is basically everything you’ve done in the past.
The crashing issue with DV is the result of a device not having enough RAM, which is different than the device’s storage capacity. Without getting into a long and dull explanation on the difference between RAM and storage, the easiest way to tell them apart is by their amounts. Storage is usually 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, etc. RAM is generally 2GB, 4GB, 6GB, etc. Since most consumers are more concerned about storage than RAM, it can be a little difficult to find this information, even Apple doesn’t post a device’s RAM on their product page and specs. The best way to check is by googling '(your device) + RAM'.
DragonVale requires at least 4GB RAM to perform with little to no crashes. You can still play DV with less RAM if you have a smaller park and/or less animation. The 6th generation iPad has 2GB RAM. Therefore, the best way to prevent crashes is to turn on Low Resolution Mode in your game (under Options). If you don’t want to play in low res (or if that doesn’t resolve the crashing), the next best thing to do is to store animated items. Sadly, you can’t turn the confetti off with the Weather Station, yet another huge problem with the event theme overriding our selected settings.
Crashes are the unfortunate part of DV, and as every park grows, it’ll eventually affect every player with less than 4GB RAM. BFS was never able to address the crashing issue beyond Low Resolution Mode. I have briefly mentioned crashes to Deca and their response was that 4GB RAM is required and if players are having problems to use low resolution or upgrade their device. So I don’t think they will be addressing or resolving the issue anytime soon. And given how much effort BFS put into crashes, it appears there isn’t an easy answer or solution.

I always read that players can't turn the confetti off. Is this really true ? In my park (android) I can use the weather station to turn it off. The only problem is that the game doesn't remember this setting if I start the game anew. So I have to turn it off every single time I go into the game. But this takes only seconds and lasts while I'm playing.

Yes, that’s what players mean when they say they can’t turn the confetti off. It’s not permanent. They have to redo it every time they open the game or switch parks because the event theme overrides the Twilight Tower and Weather Station selections.
This causes problems for players who are trying to breed dragons with a nighttime requirement or are inundated with crashes. The player doesn’t always remember to switch themes before breeding or turn off effects to prevent crashes, because this isn’t their normal routine (and it shouldn’t have to be). Besides the ease of forgetting, it’s super inconvenient and it renders the Twilight Tower and Weather Station useless. I know you know all this, I just hope by repeating it enough times Deca will be sure to take the issue up and ensure it doesn’t occur in future events.

During the Jolly Jubilee event I was trying to breed the Dawn dragon in my mini parks which needs a daytime theme and I kept forgetting to change the Twilight Tower because the event had a night time theme that was forced on us. I complained about it in the Jolly Jubilee thread and sent an email to BFS but it wasn’t fixed. I’ve given up trying for the Sun and Moon dragons that need day or night. I wanted to finish up the Sun and Moon collections in those parks but I guess I can only do it when there’s no event until they fix it. Thank you to everyone who emailed DECA about this I will definitely email again if it’s not fixed in the next event.

I totally agree and can back this up. I had an iPad Air 2 with 2 GB RAM and my original park that I’ve had since I started playing 7 yrs ago would crash all the time. It’s a big park with all the dragons, all the islands and decorations. I had 3 mini parks at the time and none ever crashed on the iPad Air so like you said the size of your park is one of the factors. My iPad Air finally broke and I got an iPad Pro with 4 GB RAM and my big park doesn’t crash anymore so the amount of RAM is definitely the other factor on whether it crashes.
I read on DragonVale’s Facebook or some other DragonVale website someone trying to explain the difference between storage and RAM because they usually get mistaken as the same thing. It was very confusing because I’m not a computer expert. I like the way you described the difference with the amount of GB because I don’t need to know all the technical details just that it’s different than the storage and how to find how much RAM I have. I Googled “iPad Air 2 + RAM” and boom! the first result just said “2 GB RAM” in huge letters. It was so easy I wish I knew about this earlier.
People hardly ever mention the type of tablet or phone they’re playing on and never mention their device’s RAM when they talk about crashes except on this forum. That makes me think most people don’t know RAM is the reason why their park is crashing. Maybe that’s because BFS blamed our device or us saying we had too many apps open or needed to clear our cache or whatever. It’s good that DECA is saying the game needs 4 GB RAM so we know it’s not our fault, it’s the game needing a lot of RAM and a lot of phones and tablets don’t have enough. It doesn’t help stop the crashes but at least we know the problem. I have a feeling low resolution is all we’re gonna get but On the positive side, low resolution did work for my game for a while and it wasn’t too noticeable.Storing animated stuff really helped too anything that eats up a lot of RAM. Sorry I’m writing so much today but crashes were a really big problem for me and I had a lot of emails with BFS about this so it was really frustrating at the time.
Thanks to everyone who gave help with my iPad crashing. As I said I didn’t buy it to play games. I had no idea about ram, maybe I would have considered a different device.... Shutting off the iPad and all the apps are still in memory. I googled and I learned to double tap the home button and swipe away all the apps, to clear the memory. For now it’s in low resolution mode, it was already, and I have removed chest rewards pieces, lamp, cocoa mugs, music notes, etc.from the gift list, removed duplicate twins from the gift list. I will see how long I can go with this before making more drastic measures.
• NEW 29th Island • NEW Maximum Level 140 • 50% off all Islands, Storage Tower upgrades, and Hibernation Cave upgrades in the Vale and Rift • Clear island trees and rocks for free • 3 habitats unlock with each new level for a total of 15 additional habitats • At Level 140 the habitat limit is now 190

I’m really, really sorry the outcome wasn’t more positive. These crashes were such a struggle when they first appeared last year, and I know exactly how disappointing it is to limit your park or play in a slightly blurred low resolution. I hope your park runs crash-free without having to sacrifice anything more. Please let us know if you have any more questions and g’luck with your marvellous park!
I just used sooooo much food leveling rifties up to max out to find out the new island is not half off as stated. 😲
The 29th Island is 50% off. I purchased it and was charged the bargain price of 22,500,000,000. (I’m glad we have something to spend our DC on. 😊)
1. For those looking to level up quickly: if you have a Double XP Boost in your gifts, activate it and feed a couple dragons in the Rift to level 18 or 20 (or use Tiamat and Bahamut — Bahamut kindly rolled me a level 18 Air Rift). You’ll pass the five new levels in seconds. If you don’t have a Double XP Boost, they’re showing up in the races and quests (they can also be purchased in the Market for gems). Today for my Daily Rewards I received three days of Double XP, so it may be worth checking the Daily Rewards cycle to see if one is on the way.
2. The 29th Island takes 2.5 days to summon.
3. Similar to the last Expansion Extravaganza, each new level unlocks three habitats, for a total of 15 additional habitats. At Level 140 the habitat limit is now 190!
