Any extra flag bearers LynnMarie? I only remembered to feed mine up to elder today. I have all the orbs/crowns turned off in my park, but when I fed Dargon up to elder his crown has a ball of flames. Elder Fire also has flames in his crown and Elder Plant has 'leaves' in its crown. Is this new? In the past, weren't they just gold crowns for elders?

Gold crown goes to level 20 dragons. Elder dragons are the primary dragons at level 21. The elders change appearance a tad bit and receive a special crown.

Gold crown goes to level 20 dragons. Elder dragons are the primary dragons at level 21. The elders change appearance a tad bit and receive a special crown.
Thanks for the explanation Dreamn. I've had my orbs/crowns turned off for so long, I'd forgotten that the elders had a different crown.

Is anyone else having trouble giving people gems? Lately I can only give gems to certain people, most of my list is grayed out. I have a long gift list for gems, so forgive me if your not receiving gems from me. I have tried restarting my IPad.
Update, I still can’t give gems to who I want. A random 7 people from the bottom of my list will have the gift button pop, those are the only ones I can give gems too. I have been trying to resolve this with Deca, but it still isn’t resolved and it is going on 2 weeks.

A jester flag bearer would be very appropriate, especially if you work out how much it cost to level Dargon up to Elder and compare it to its 'amazing' earning rate.
You guys, this is amazing. I got my new tablet today, and I'm just amazed at how good DragonVale works now. Everything moves so fast! It doesn't lag or crash at all. I don't think I've ever seen it work so well before. I was able to get into my park on the first try, and it only took like five minutes to do everything instead of a half an hour.
I'd also like to add that I've never been able to visit high level parks before, because it always made the game crash. But now I can visit them without crashing the game, and I went to adlerist's park first. And I was like whoa, you've got a lot of Bogberries, my good friend.
So all is well in the vale now. Apologies for not sending out gems these last few days. My game was becoming unplayable again because of all the crashing. So I gave up trying and decided to wait for my new tablet.
I'll be sending gems regularly again. Nothing will keep me out of the vale now! Full speed ahead and many koala! 🐉🐨🐨🐨🐉

I did the same thing when I got a new device, I went to adlerist’s park first! So amazing!! There are a lot of Bobgberrys but there’s even more Portents. That was really impressive to me b/c Portent takes so long to breed and then incubate and has lots of fails even if you do Portent x Portent. It must’ve taken forever! I love all the decos and the design too.
If you’re like me you’re going to spend a lot of time on your new toy for a couple weeks and play Dragonvale a lot more. 🐉🐉🐨🐨🐉🐉

Yeah, I’m really confused by this too. The elder is supposed to be the oldest, wisest dragon, leader of the group like the first of the element that all the other elders are. But this Dargon, it’s new, a literal baby compared to the other elders. And what good is an elder if it has no extra benefit, like a flag bearer or a breeding advantage. 🤷🏻♀️

TBF none of the elders make a lot of money but at least they have the flag bearer to make up for it. Without a flag bearer it just makes Elder Dargon less logical and less worth it. I LOVE the jester idea!! 😍

1. Dargon is the first non-primary dragon with only one element. Not quite a primary, not quite a hybrid.
2. Dargon is the first non-primary to reach elder status.
3. For the first time, the Rift has a traited elder dragon — which means, there’s a new treats/Etherium price for level 21. • For those interested: it costs 50 million treats to feed Dargon from level 20 to 21
4. Dargon is the first elder without a flag bearer.
5. Dargon has become the supreme April Fool’s joke that never loses traction and continues well into the month.
I think Dargon’s elder form is hilarious, as do many others, but I certainly understand the concerns from players who are not happy about the changes to primaries and elders and what it could mean for the game.
However, now that Deca is aware of the consequences that will occur if a dragon only has one element, hopefully going forward, Deca will only release hybrids and epics, and will reserve elder status for primary dragons only.

Historically, the flag bearers have been assigned to primary elders, and since Dargon isn’t a primary, it doesn’t have a banner bearer. However, Dargon ignores so many DV rules, Deca might as well give Dargon a jester bearer. It would definitely thrill the DV community.
On Friday, after Dargon’s elder release, I asked Deca the following:
1. Are they planning on adding an eleventh banner bearer for Dargon the Elder.
2. Does the elder breeding bonus apply to Dargon. It’s stated on its info card, but since Dargon isn’t a true elder, confirmation on whether it was added or not would help.
Deca responded today and said there’s no plans for a Dargon flag bearer, but the elder breeding bonus has been added to Dargon’s elder level.
NOTE: Even with the elder breeding advantage, it won’t be worth using Dargon over Fire elder or Ghostly Fire elder in the Vale, because Dargon will add itself to the breeding fails as a cloneable parent. Dargon pretty much cancels out its own elder bonus. If you’re willing to spend the treats/Etherium to level up Dargon in the Rift, and frequently clone traited dragons, elder Dargon could be useful. But many players don’t clone in the Rift or may not think it’s worth 50 million treats. Another problem with giving non-primary dragons elder eligibility.
Therefore, it appears Dargon doesn’t have all the utilitarian benefits attributed to an elder. Instead, he is a novelty. So if you don’t have the treats/DC to spare, it may not be worth levelling him to 21 — level up the other primaries first. Unless, of course, you can’t resist Colonel Dargon.

That's a really great point about Dargon's elder bonus being cancelled out b/c of its own breeding fails. I never even thought about that but it's so true. I also didn't think about the Rift getting an Elder for the first time and the cost to level Dargon to 21! It's not really worth it to have Dargon to 21 in the Rift or the Vale.
I don't think DECA thought this through. It looks like they just decided to make Dargon an Elder and didn't think about what that would include like the flag bearer or the breeding bonus, and how it would change the game.
I think DECA should give us an Elder Dargon flag bearer and a traited Elder Dargon flag bearer!!! That would make the Elder Dargons and all those treats worth it!
PSA: DragonVale update 4.23.0 is now available for iOS and Android in the App Store and Play Store

I thought we'll settle with another break... Is this really the norm of DragonVale now? All my old friends from the wiki and Game Center quit the game because of the back to back events.
I miss when we have Mini-Events for one week after each major event... At this point, I'm never getting that Rifty Dittoglide...
