i have some olympian dragons, like the hydra and cerberus, that i'd much rather have in something other than an olympus habitat. its just too posh, they deserve something darker, more ruined, more fit for hades than elysium. but i think i'm stuck, unless i'm overlooking something? has anyone else run into that sort of thing?
Yes! Breed rifted versions of them and place them in the dark reward habitats!
It would work best with Cerberus and Stygian. Fire cerberus is almost identical. Especially on a level 20 hydra, the rift element might be too distracting.
I use the trick for the light reward habitats, though, so I haven't had the issue of where to then place an olympic dark habitat. Dream goes well with the dark reward habitats, but that might not be what you want. A lightning rifted cerberus is pretty interesting, though.
The Giant rift habitat is particularly portal-to-hell, but I never found a good element to hybridize with 🤔
The smaller types are quite alright on an apocalypse island. The spikyness is nice. The orange also goes with the lava like cracks on the floor

I chose WillowPark and Dragonland for my two parks. Had a lot trouble deciding my favourite dragon. Still don’t know.🤔

Just went with the easy choice of “Lady Red” for my sign. Current avatar is the Ariesian, with Chromacorn listed as my favorite.

I chose "Much Love" for my signpost, because wherever I go, I try spreading love and positivity. Even when I'm taking part in chats on YouTube, I'll occasionally send love and positive messages to the people who are in the chat with me.
My avatar is the Moon dragon, like always. No trouble choosing a favorite. For me, the best and most loved favorite dragon is Misfortune. I absolutely adore that one. 💙💙💙

About a month and a half ago I started creating www.familyecho.com/?p=START&c=zb32txs04k&f=653536251579829870 for some dragons I needed, but then I realised they were related to more dragons I needed, and those ones related to even more... By the time I'd got all of them I'd got about half the dragons in-game so I decided I may as well finish it.
I just thought it might be helpful for someone, especially if they're a newer player who wants to plan ahead to dragons they want to get (so they can try for the permanent dragons required for them). I know you can look up combos online but I've never seen them all in one place before besides the Encyclopedia Dracontine and dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/thread/1427/locked-breeding-combos-dragons-needed, and I personally find the family tree layout easier to navigate.
Please let me know if it helps anyone, and if there are any mistakes you happen to notice
The family tree on the link will update as I update it on my Family Echo account, so you won't need a new one for every new dragon.
If you want to use it: - Go to options and tick name, middle name, nickname, title + suffix and surname to make sure you can see all the information. Set parents to 15 gens and children/other to 1/no gens. (This means you'll be able to see every previous dragon and base element required for the one you want while minimising how many unrelated dragons you see; obviously you can change the settings if you want to see what dragons a dragon is required for rather than/as well as what is required for it.) - 'Female'/pink = dragons with at least one specific dragon required to get them (this includes evolution dragons since their base is specific), 'Male'/blue = dragons with no specific dragons, 'Other'/white = not a dragon (such as elements or categories), or the primaries/legendaries etc.. NOTE: Some dragons have combos that are not the same as those given in-game; this is because the in-game combos include redundant elements. For example, Amalgamate's in-game combo is Bone + earth + fire + dark, but because Bone is earth + fire, you only need Bone + dark. In these cases, the parents on the tree are the minimum requirement (so on the tree, Amalgamate's parents are Bone and Dark Element) but next to their name in brackets will be their full in-game requirement. You don't need to worry about the full requirement, it's just there to highlight when the family tree's combo is different to the in-game one.
Is it possible to parent breed a Monolith dragon in the rift using a Monolith and any other dragon? I think I remember reading some time ago that this was possible, but haven’t had any luck. I just wanted to make sure it is possible before I spend more etherium! I currently only have Monolith 3 in the rift and was hoping to collect some more before the next event.

The reps asked Deca for confirmation on the cloning rules for Monolith and Snowflake dragons but haven’t received a final response. It appears they cannot be cloned. If they are clonable, the percentage is so low, it’s not really worth attempting. I always advise players to buy two Monolith mystery eggs and two Snowflake mystery eggs, because the first two are inexpensive, and you can get started breeding the collection without worrying about cloning. In the end, it will save Etherium.
Sorry it’s not better news. But the Monolith Egg of Mystery should be available during the spring event.

Which of the following dragons is the most useful to rift?
Epic: Canvas Entwined Mesmer Lullaby Lightmare
Rare: Buttercup (Lumineux)
All unrifted and without twin spare Lumineux. I have normal Divi, which has a parent on this list, but not Classical with its epic parent (also on the list). I think you need Lightmare to breed some dragons, but I don't know about the others.

Lightmare is not required though useful in RBCs since it gives all primary elements + moon + dream (but a normal version is better for RBCs). Lumineux is epic not rare (has the dream element).
Get as many epics as you can. You can use the Proboards post to find out what they're required for in future, but I'll get that info now. Canvas is the only required epic (Classical). Buttercup's required for Divi so depends on whether you want to try for traited Divi immediately when it next releases (same for Canvas with Classical). The rest of them aren't required for anything.
I would aim for Canvas, then Buttercup if you want to try for Divi next time, then the ones with the highest chances. I will get that info in just a sec.
I do not believe that any of those dragons are in the possible upcoming combos. Those combos can change as the note on the post says, but I haven't noticed any changes in the past so it is likely the case that the currently unrequired dragons from this list will remain unrequired.
Therefore I would go for Canvas > Buttercup > Lumineux (if you have a good pairing i.e. as few elements in mix as possible) > Lullaby (ditto) > Entwined > Mesmer > Lightmare
Oh and I forgot to mention, if you have a twin version, then the end of event dragon (assuming there is one) will be traited if you claim it, so I would get a traited Lumineux with the gift.
Therefore I would go for Canvas > Buttercup > Lumineux (if you have a good pairing i.e. as few elements in mix as possible) > Lullaby (ditto) > Entwined > Mesmer > Lightmare
Thank you so much! I keep forgetting Lumineux is an epic... and I moved it my dream habitat months ago 🥲
