I’ve filled a support ticket and they’ve inquired as to when I made the upgrade, so hopefully we’ll get a resolution soon!
Update: I received the following reply from Deca “I forwarded your request for a refund regarding the upgrade, to the team and sadly, we do not have clearance to send back the spent Gems. Also, the upgraded habitat cannot be demoted which is another reason why we are not able to help in this case.” So it looks like the gems are gone 😢 oh well, it’s just pixels *breathes deeply*

NinjaKiwi. Double check that your iPhone is logged into Game Centre - not in game, in the settings menu.
There is also a link in Deca's support page regarding lost Game Centre friends.

LynnMarie and NinjaKiwi., it sounds like DV kicked you out of Game Center. Just click the Game Center login button on the Social menu (in the links MinyaZ posted, I describe the process, and the Deca link has screenshots — both links are in the ED). If that doesn’t resolve the issue, let me know and I’ll see if other DV communities are having this problem.
Be aware that if you open a help ticket, support may not know how to assist you. They’ve provided the wrong solution on multiple occasions.
(Also, if there’s additional posts on this topic, I’ll move the conversation to the Bugs and Glitches thread.)

Yeah so I was logged into GC the whole time - it had the log out option in DV settings and when I checked my phone settings I was logged in and could see all my friends there. But I did a full restart and everyone came back so idk problem solved 🤷♀️

Whatever that bugfix is, it did fix something. It fixed when you can tap on the locked breeding hint and see the dragon required for it, if it had one.

Hopefully posting this question in the right place. Where can you breed galaxy dragons? In the past it was only in the co op but I seem to remember it changing? Can you breed them in the rift with the same two? Thanks for your knowledge!
jengrqkH#4979 The general rule is that Galaxy Dragons can only be bred in the co-op cave - they cannot be bred like with like in the Rift. The only way to get Galaxy dragons in the rift is to buy Galaxy mystery eggs.
However, there are two exceptions. Lunis and Solis which are a galaxy/moon and galaxy/sun dragon respectively. Using the breeding hint, they can be bred in any cave but can only be cloned (using two as parents) in the Co-op cave.
Breeding Hints Lunis - MOON + Any Galaxy Can be bred in ALL caves - CLONE in Co-op only Solis - SUN + Any Galaxy Can be bred in ALL caves - CLONE in co-op only
Edited to add Rigel - Rigel can be bred in the rift - and only the rift - but you have to own all other galaxy dragons first. Rigel - Any Galaxy + Galaxy IF YOU OWN EVERY OTHER GALAXY DRAGON, RIFT ONLY

I have an Epic donation board for the weekend too. So much fun.
If you have Lunis or Solis try them in either the rift or a breeding cave. Use Lunis + Moon or Solis + Sun. I have bred both successfully without too many attempts this way.

PSA: Good news for DragonVale players in the US! DV’s reset time will follow US daylight saving time.
Deca has confirmed DV’s daily reset will not change with Europe’s daylight saving time on 31 October. But the reset will fall back one hour on 7 November, when daylight saving time ends in the US. Hopefully, this will be less confusing for US players. If you’re in CET, please note the time change.
