Don't forget to take into account the time it took for each dragon to incubate then hatch. Not to mention the emotional attachment that has built up over time.
Selling your papers now could have you scrambling to breed more IF the shrines do advance past gold. Time wasted IMO. Plus, what if, at that time, a new limited Dragon is released. Now your caves are clogged with papers that you already had but decided to maliciously sell off because they were deemed 'unneeded'. Economy of motion. Write that down.
Paper IS my favorite. But with what it takes to level anything up to 20(ish), I don't think there would be scrambling involved. It would be plodding.
I'll take my chances. I don't want to be a hoarder, with stacks of paper everywhere. I will keep a few, because they look way cool IMO. And I try to reserve my stronger emotional attachments for my flesh and blood children. ;D
I have two Blue Moon eggs sitting in my hatchery, and by this time tomorrow I shall have two more! I've tried bloom/chrome, bloom/magnetic and lichen/magnetic, but whatever I try I only seem to get more blue moons.
I think I shall just buy my second apocalypse and go back to breeding rusts while trying for a platinum.
I did notice that after my egg sales this morning, I now have over a billion dragon cash. Wish I could buy a few dragons with it. Wish I could buy a platinum dragon with it!
So, my first bloom is in the works and my first leap year is in the hatchery. Also, by second reindeer made an appearance. Little bugger didn't pop up for the whole time I was actually trying to get him and decided to show his face now!

So with every limited dragon rereleased and the Solstice on Friday meaning Seasonal habitats and dragons are changing, not to mention bringing snow to our park and sparks shooting out of our Sun Stones ... does anyone else think tomorrow would be a great day to release the first Fire/Water "Opposite" Dragon?
Having no luck at all. Threw in leap year and rainbow yesterday hoping for a second leap and got a rainbow. Put in bloom and chrome yesterday hoping for a leap or an apocalypse and got a silver. Tried lichen and magnetic this morning and got a copper. Long wait for things i didnt want. Gah.

Got my first Leap Year dragon breeding on my island ;D
For you curious folks, I used Pollen and Scorch since it has fails that are others I need like a second Love, a second Butterfly, Sakura and Rainbow.

I don't think Pollen+Scorch works for those.
Love requires Flower+Lightning/hybrid, so that won't come up. Sakura is only Tree+Flower; it's like the gem dragons with a single combo Butterfly requires Firefly+Air/hybrid.
So none of those could have come up from your combo.
Please can anyone tell me if there was an emerald May gem dragon decoration released? I have the others and the gem island one but can't find one for him, thanks
