If you breed solstice with sun for example, you will always get sun after the limited event expires.
I guess that is true, but what about e.g. solstice x equinox? If neither of them is available through normal channels then surely there has to be a 50/50 chance of each of them.

I believe in case of solstice and sun there is a small....2% chance of breeding a solstice year round. This was mentioned in this forum a couple of times anyway..and the simulator gives a small chance.
The simulator gives a larger chance for the rainbow/ LYD. I have run 6-15% chance on the 100 breeds scale. I guess this can all change tomorrow...but I will be truly surprised.

Panlong x Panlong will always result in Panlong. Same goes for every other dragon, except gemstone of course.
Thanks for clarifying! And does this apply too even after the dragons are not available in the market? For example: Breeding two Panlongs to get a third one even after the Year of the Dragon.

This combo breeds around 50-50 in the simulator
Sure --- my point is that most likely this will continue to be the case even after those dragons are no longer available, because what else could they beget?
Hey, get me: I used "beget" in a sentence and I'm not even the Bible.
"... and Solstice begat Equinox, who begat Blue Moon". Etc.
Do not believe that this is a correct statement....I believe you can breed the LYD with the rainbow to get an LYD after the limited event expires.
Pixie Fletch Myke Pami?.
No, it didn't work that way with the LYD, wish it had - I'd have had a second one months ago. You will definitely have to have 2 LYD if you want to breed for a display egg.

Even after the event is over, you have a 50-50 chance of getting either Solstice or Equinox. Same goes for 2 of any other kind of Special Sun/Moon dragons. (Does not work with a single Sun or Moon bred with another limited Sun/Moon)

How many times did u breed a rainbow and LYD to find out?.. U could easily breed 20 times before hitting one has the simulator only shows 6-15 out of a hundred. I can't see that anyone would have bothered due to the rainbow fails. However with the larger habitat it Makes much more sense to think about it. Since u could put the fails to work making dragon bucks.

Breeding a LYD with a Rainbow was well-tested at the Wiki when the LYD left the market March 2, 2012. Am positive it would have been reported as possible if someone had hit one accidentally.
From the LYD Wiki page: The Leap Year Dragon can only breed with another Leap Year Dragon or with a Rainbow Dragon. If a Leap Year Dragon is bred with a Rainbow Dragon, the result will only be a Rainbow Dragon until the Leap Year Dragon is available in the market again. dragonvale.wikia.com/wiki/Leap_Year_Dragon
Yes, after a limited has left the market, breeding any epic limited with another epic dragon will always result in the epic dragon available in the market. Equinox + Moon will be Moon. Sun + Solstice will be Sun. Rainbow + LYD will be Rainbow.
However, if you breed two limiteds together you have a 50/50 chance of either limited.
What this means is that at some point BFS will release another limited with a Rainbow element and you'll be able to breed it with LYD to get a second one/display egg.

Which simulator are you using? If I'm not mistaken, I read the rules on Sandbox that breeding an expired limited epic with a permanent epic will always result in the permanent epic. The DV wiki site also backs this up.

Ok guys I humbly stand corrected...
Only until BFS releases the limited Rainbow element dragon Fletch mentioned.

www.2084.org/dragonvale/breeding-sandbox/. Is the sandbox or wiki part of BFS. If not how do u really know what these guys in the sandbox or WIKI are saying is true? Did somebody really breed a thousand rainbows and LYD to prove u can't get one. I would have a hard time with that on the believability scale.
However if BFS told WIKI or us in the community that this is how it works...then I can easily believe it.

Both the Snabox and the Wiki are fan run. They're great resources, but they are not infallible. If you use this logic, everything in them is subject to questioning. However, they tend to be correct most of the time.
It seems that the "bring em back" event will be extended. Saw BFS post on Facebook.
I'm glad that those who are still missing dragons get a longer chance... but I wish I could turn it off for my game. Not looking forward to SED fails... unless I get my Garnet and display super quickly.
