Something peculiar happened to me recently. I was always able to win 5 gems, 9/10 colosseum events. This was very consistent, I had certain dragons I knew to enter for each event, most of them had 3, 4 and some even 5-streak wins.
I then started turning all my shrines silver. Ever since I have not won anything gold except with my level 15 panlong in a water event. That was entire cycle of all the events by the way.
So from my perception, it would seem that the shrines are somehow linked to colosseum results. I'm now turning all my colosseum dragons level 15 to see if this improves chances.
I will give feedback as I go along.
Anyone else notice this?
Yeah, after you start turning your shrines Silver, you can level your dragons up to Level 15. In the same way, the imaginary dragons you compete against are also going up in level. If you keep putting in Level 10 dragons you will not win. You need to feed your dragons up to Level 15 when you can.
That's the game reasoning behind it. The actual reason we think is connected to the value of your park. As you get more dragons, habitats and decorations your park goes up in value. As you grow more food and feed it to your dragons, your park goes up in value. Place one finger on the top left of the screen of your device and put two fingers on the top right. This will display the debug screen. The 9th line is called "Value". It is the monetary worth of everything in your game. Mine is 6 767 420 787 and takes into account my money, food, and everything I have bought/bred for my park.
This Value increases as you can buy more habitats that hold more dragons. We think there is some formula connected to dragon value compared to park value and how well they do in the Colosseum. The amount of money spent on food doubles each level you go up so a Level 11 Dragon is worth twice a Level 10 Dragon. And a Level 12 Dragon is worth twice a Level 11. A Level 15 Dragon is worth more than 33 times a Level 10 dragon, and does much better in the Colosseum accordingly.
I have 3 Level 20 Dragons I use in the Colosseum. My Level 20 Panlong is worth 526 390 000 to my game or 7.77% of my entire park value. A Level 15 Panlong is worth 18 486 000 or 0.273% of my entire park value. So we think the higher the ratio between competing dragons and your total park value the better you do.
Wahoo!! I finally got the last piece to this fella in my second account. I got tired of the quests and started racing. Took me most of today to get the last piece but I finally did. Yahoo!
Thank you for putting this here, Fletch, I may never have seen it otherwise. Some of those gave me the silly-giggles ;D If you ever have a "Favorite Contest" contest, this one would get my vote.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Fletch.
It kind of makes sense, as my plant and fire shrines have been silver for a very long time and the colosseum was results were not affected. I must have reached some kind of breaking point. I see I did reach 1 billion park value recently, but this happened slightly before then.
I've been focusing on my minor park with the return of the limiteds. I only needed three dragons in my main park to complete the 'heir and spare' list. Now, I'm almost caught up with limiteds for the minor park. I need a Bloom, a Butterfly, and a Gift. One of each, please. Then I can go on and fill in the 'heir and spare' list for the minor park. I wasn't paying attention and I am missing quite a few hybrids.

Very cool. I did not know about this. So my park value is 3.5 billion. Now I added a rainbow and it went up 5 million. Which is twice what I could sell it for. So I guess that ratio setting the initial value holds true?
Not sure how many people are still desperately trying for Limiteds that will be going away. I plan to save my gems to give to those still in need, until the event is over.
Yay, I finally got my long awaited 2nd Leap Year with Seaweed+Snow! I just need to go for those last gem dragons that I need and my progressing collection shall be complete

Hi friends, I finally managed to get two garnets, so I turned the first one into an egg and now I have completed (for now) my egg collection. So, behold:
It used to have a more circular nature a couple of months ago, but with so many new dragons it's been tricky to mantain, so it now seems a little square at some points. In april it will be truly complete, with all twelve gemstone eggs.
Back to growing treats...
Cheers.
New goal: Crown 5 more dragons. Treats needed: 26,214,400. Current treats: 14,000,000

That is one awesome egg collection. Really like the layout of each element.

Thanks, glad you like it! Everytime a new dragon appears I have to make space for the new egg, that's why it looks a bit irregular here and there, but I'm proud of it nevertheless. Cheers.

First Dragon to ever swim in my Fountain of Youth.
Lol, I didn't know dragons could swim in the fountain! That's really neat
I didn't think so either. Although it looked more like my Garnet Dragon was drowning and gasping for air more than swimming.
