Mostly, I haven't upgraded because I rarely have enough gems on hand to do so. There's always some other priority, and I'm doing my best not to purchase additional gems as Backflip has a sizable chunk of my cash already. LOL But it also annoys me a little that there's no corresponding time-reducing upgrade for the nursery, so backlogs can occur even more easily than they already do. So I guess I haven't actually MADE it a priority.

It took me quite a while to scrape up the dragoncash to purchase each of the last two islands, and I was broke for most of the last event trying to clear them, then went on a fresh decorating spree. So yeah, I think I need to keep hoarding for a while yet so that it won't feel quite such a hardship when the next one comes out!

I cannot forsee when I could ever join this club. Any spare cash goes straight into treats. I'm currently feeding up the dragons I'm using for breeding, around levels 16/17.

Same thing here as Pixie--I really haven't had anything that needed feeding up except the handful of Colosseum dragons I was raising to level 20. Most of my second-bred light & dark hybrids I bred & immediately stored. I used to feed dragons immediately to 15, now if they're going into storage, I don't bother feeding until I need to bring them out to breed. No sense in feeding them if they aren't in sight, and no sense (to me) in leveling them past 15 unless I'm going to breed them RIGHT NOW. Even then, we still don't seem to have definitive proof that going higher than 15 really changes anything breeding-wise, or at least we didn't last time I checked.

I didn't do this the fast way though--I don't have dozens of habitats filled with one kind of dragon, just tweaked things a bit here & there. Other things I did:

I no longer have exactly three habitats per element. I've kept (or added) more of the highest earning ones, and stored away or sold extra plant habitats, for instance.

Added two additional Sun/Moon habs with the highest earners for those.

Upgraded almost all habs to Giant, and filled them to capacity. They may not have the highest possible earners for each element, because I still like variety, but they're capable of filling multiple times a day.

Which leads to...

I check in to sweep at least four times a day. Realistically, it takes under two minutes each sweep. That's not a huge time investment, considering we're playing on mobile devices.

And I haven't done any real decorating since the Rift event. Which, yeah...I blew through a ton of dragoncash and gems and treats during that! Call it decorating burnout, but it definitely made it easier to let the cash pile up.


Now I just need to start building up a gem hoard of a decent size! I think for me, that'll be even more difficult than the billionaires' club.

Status: Billion chopping wood and carrying water. 8th island chopping wood and carrying water. What in heaven's name to do with all that real estate when habitat limit is exhausted. Crown the dragons, sure. Must be what they mean by need being an illusion. Not looking forward to another island unless it's Santorini. Let the dragons wade in the caldera while you watch the sunset.

I always kept 1.000.000.000 and invested the above going DC in food.
Yesterday I decided I could up the sum a bit ( just in case of).
And voila : now I have only 100.000.000 and change.
So saving is a new theme.
But when my island finishes in 2 days and 6 hours , I'll surely have to pay a lot for clearing....

I understand, after the new island and a little clearing, down to 450 million, time to save a little more each day. This is what's fun about new islands - it makes you juggle all your goals at once

Both parks remain below 55,000,000. Whenever I go above that I grow beans. I'm guessing it will be a while before I can afford the new island. Though if I starve a few of the more overweight beasties, I might get there in a week or two in my big park. The little one will be a month or two. Sigh. Of course I could sell off my egg collection.... Nah. Not gonna happen.

One of the perks of being very busy is that I didn't have time to do much with treats, so I started growing all dragon fruit to save myself some time. I drained my resources pretty heavily during the magic event, yet I had almost 3.5 billion before buying the new island. It was kind of cool seeing all that extra DC piling up. However, right now, I would rather have had that cushion in gems.

I stopped randomly feeding dragons up to L20 on Fletch's advice after I had 12 L20 dragons. I will now only level up breeding pairs for limited dragons (to L17). As a result I was hoarding cash and after spending 1Billion on the new island I still have 5.4 Billion left. Decided Fletch's advice was sound as it has always ensured I've had a good pot of cash when new things have arrived

I just popped up over 1bil today, so thought I'd peek in here. I doubt I'll get to stay long, as I only have 7 islands, but at least I can check out the club and scope out which leather seat or couch is the most comfy.

I'm glad you popped in, but you won't be able to get the most comfy chair, because I'm already sitting in it. I always was good at finding comfortable seats. Since I have all the islands and over 2 billion in the bank, I don't think I will be vacating it for a while. In fact, I think I might lie back for a while and rest my eyelids. Let me know if anything exciting happens.

You look quite relaxed, but remember, what is the most comfy for you may not be the most comfy for me! I think I'll just try these others... Oh, yes, this couch will do nicely, quite nicely... Ahhhhhh... Zzzzzzz...
