So it has been mentioned in the past, ever since the return of the first limited dragon, that it might be cool to have decorations that don't repeat, so that people could show they had been playing from a certain date. With the release of the Swimming Hole on Google devices, but not on the other two platforms we have a decoration that will not be available to all players. What if there were separate dragons. Marketing dollars spent by Kindle, for example, to make a Kindle Dragon, only available to their players?
Thoughts please. Vote and post.

I wish you'd added an undecided option. I don't know how I feel about it. I'm kinda bummed that someone else has something shiny that I can't have, but that's my inner 5 year old whining about it not being fair. On the other hand if we knew we'd all get a shiny thing, just different shiny things, that would be fine with me. As long as my shiny thing also comes with a gem sale.
Dragons to breed: Clover, Sakura, Diamond, Peridot, SOly, GOly, Bronze and Silver SnOlys, DR, Malachite, and four light and dark hybrids.
Well it does seem kinda unfair to have a decoration available to one group of players and not to the others. Would be nice if we got something unique too. Otherwise, bad idea.

Okay, according to this Google Play summer sale, this is definitely limited to google players. I'm guessing Google spent dollars at BFS to get a limited deco made for their players. Cool marketing idea. What if it went further and they paid to get a Google Dragon made? And the same for Kindle and Apple, obviously? Assuming we can still visit different parks through Facebook and see stuff we could never buy/breed, how would that make you feel?
I've been mulling this over. I started playing Dragon Story for a few weeks, until I heard about Dragonvale and here I am. Part of the reason I switched allegiance was that Dragon Story had different parts of the game available for different platforms. As a Kindle player there were whole element types I couldn't breed, new things would come out first on other devices, and likely wouldn't ever be available for me (trade area, gem dragons, arena). In Dragonvale I can breed everything, eventually. I don't get penalized for being on a less popular device.
Am I too worried about missing one decoration? No, not really. I can clutter up my islands just fine with what's available. If it was a Dragon, I'd be frustrated and have a proper sulk and whine session. I'm more worried to see if this becomes a trend. No exclusives was a large part of why I like this game, and I don't want that to change. So I'm casting my vote for bad idea for precedents sake.

I too, am disappointed with the fact that BFS would market exclusive items for a certain platform. I could understand how the process would help fund their company in partnership with Google Play, but it just seems a little unfair for those who don't and cannot have access to "the-platform-with-the-cool-stuff". However, it seems that it is promoting a small boost to their smaller gaming platform as well. Just like the early update with the shrine upgrades, I will be looking forward for the decoration to be released later on.
This also isn't the first time that I've seen gaming companies promote their products in association with different platforms: www.puzzledragonx.com/en/monster.asp?n=660
If Google made deals with BSF for specials in DV and BFS goes that way, I think it is a bad idea. Other platforms appeared later and the big bunch of "old" DV players is going to be very frustrated and p... off. After all, we are those who made this game successful and profitable. And BSF should be aware that IOS players know perfectly what is going on on other platforms. Up to know, we have seen that android platform got things before IOS users. I bet we get the same offers in the next days. If not, it would be very unwise from BSF.

I understand the preference to the original players. Would you be fine if IOS players got something special and the other platforms missed out?
If we get that decoration a bit later it'll be ok but if it will rest exclusively for google players this will be another step for me to stop playing DV ...
Maybe I'm not 44 but a five year old - but I'm kind of bored with this game anyway. I expected something really new since the last monthly gem dragon expired - and there wasn't . The only thing that keeps me hanging on is this fantastic community.
In three weeks I will be on holiday for a fortnight without WLAN. Maybe I realize that life without DV is really good.
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for

I'm thinking most of us old timers, playing for more than 12 months ... heck some of us are closing in on 2 years ... are getting a bit tired of the game. I think I can say most of us are here because of Poppy and the forum he started. I'm pretty confident I just would have drifted off by now if we were still at the old place. Constellation Dragons are surely around the corner ... Although if they wanted to make a monthly series of bots, I'd be happy with that too.
It's a bad idea. I played Dragon Story for months & this was one of the reasons I stopped playing All the their games. My neighbors were getting cool decor and some limited Dragons only avail. for iOS. Many players were Very disgruntled, including me, and left. It was So refreshing to find DV, they treated their players equally and I know when I see a great dragon or really cool decor I can get that too. As a Kindle player I do have some iOS neighbors through FB and like to visit everyone's islands to see how they plan their layouts or check out the dragons I don't have yet.

Would be equally unfair, thus not an option. Would bring trouble accross the various platform. Not goog for business.
On second thoughts, BSF does strange things lately, like the seasonnal dragons, spring, summer etc. Their cash return is much lower then the original dragons so, logically, who would replace them with these ones, especially as the number of habitats is limited. Similarly, the jade dragon makes not really sense and mine is in the HC, and so are my spring dragons. I still enjoy my DV parks and love watching the visitors walking around. I make sure they can go everywhere and are not blocked by obstacles. The whole design is lovely and attractive, on the contrary, gizmothing is dull and if it was not for little Eddie who likes it and especially the battles, i would have erased it by now.

I posted this on the other forum, but I'll repeat it here. Jade Dragon earns 2 gems in 4 weeks instead of the 4 of the other gem dragons (as an adult of course). So having Jade on display is costing you 2 gems a month. So in 6 months you might be able to speed up one more fail. To put it another way, you will earn 5 gems each day in the Collosseum and average 6 gems as gifts from friends. In 28 days you earn 308 gems from them, and 44 from 11 birthstone dragons. Having Jade on display means you earn 354 gems in 4 weeks instead of 356. It's ridiculous to say you're losing out, in any meaningful way, by having a Jade Dragon on display.
You also have 1.5 billion DC, so you obviously have no concerns about earning cash, and suggesting you only have high earning dragons on display is moot, unless you make all your habitats Large Suns and fill them with Solstice Dragons, which someone has done, btw. They I can take seriously as someone who believes you should maximise park for earnings. Everyone else is compromising their earning potential for aesthetics.
My point is, people make decisions based on the looks of their park, which is what this game is all about. Spring and Summer have shorter breed times, and they earn less. That's the way it goes. You don't have to put them on display if you don't like the look of them, but Jade is a great looking dragon. Hiding it, or any dragon for earning rate doesn't make sense.

My outer 5-year old is offended. The early iOS players have provided the support that has enabled DV to reach the level of popularity that it enjoys today. To offer goodies to Android noobs than aren't available to longtime players is just downright disrespectful. If the gap widens this 5-year old is getting his ball and going home.

I agree. I have recently come to the forums to talk about the game as it is getting boring. As I finish the game (2 of every dragon, 1 Egg of all dragons ) , the forum provides the ability to add to the game.
Next Goal: Twin Dragons 114 of 284 Twin Pedestals 65 of 284
Maintenance Mode: Crowned - 100% (+10 Elders) Pedestals - 100% Unless a new dragon, then catchup mode

Wow, the currently explosive solar activity seems to have side effects! Well, i do not spend my time calculating things, life is to short for that and I resent that as boring, especially in a GAME. I play for pleasure and I do not feel the need to open a spreadsheet each time I make a move in DS.

Of course, knowing another platform is getting something that we don't get doesn't feel very good. As a long time player who is getting bored, I understand everyone's sentiments about feeling like we are the ones who supported BFS since the beginning and many of us, myself included, have spent bucket loads of money on the game.
However, on the flip side, I also understand that for BFS, this is a business. They have to make money to keep going. They have a new platform and thus a new avenue for continued revenue. It would not be a wise business decision to continue to pacify long time players who have, in a sense, reached their threshold for the game. Business-wise, they need to look to where the revenue will come, and that means concentrating efforts on new players and new platforms.
We are a rarity in that we are still here and playing this game. For me, I come here for the community. I'm bored with DV and I'm bored with GZ. I still visit my parks and throw dragons and bots into the breeding stations and I try for whatever new thing comes out. But I spend much less time on it than previous. I'm sure it will eventually be left for a day, then a few days, then a week or more and soon it will sit there like my Pocket Frogs, not played very often, but still there because I can't part with it completely.

I didn't have to spreadsheet it. It was obvious to me that not putting Jade on display because it "earns more" was illogical. I'm sure there are plenty of plays that don't realise they a talking about two gems amongst the hundreds they earn every month. Sometimes it's good to spell things out.
