Any bets on whether they will let this go through one more weekend of double magic? Hate to see them release the Dark and leave for the weekend.
Used to play a game where Friday was new content release day. It never went smoothly, always some sort of serious glitch every week. It's why it is a game I "used" to play.
Oh Pixie, don't tell me you belong to "the whole thing is rigged" brigade.
It would be rather strange if the event took a whole weekend to finish, since the speed it's going suggests a Saturday release, if not late Friday. If we got the Dark dragons after the weekend, then I'd be more convinced that it's rigged.

I don't know how y'all do the bush/plant breeding grind! I had 3500ish left for my 9999 dark reward so I decided to try to bush grind and I lost steam after 600...I haven't even sold the 2nd batch off!! I guess I will be pleased with just a large habitat

So someone in the DV Facebook page made a suggestion that I thought was particularly excellent.
Going upon the same assumption that I have that all Rift dragons will now be of the Light element since that was the element returned first, this person suggested that BFS allow the Rift dragon to change its form between the Dark and Light versions, depending on which habitat it is placed in.
I've been increasingly convinced that the Rift dragons we get when Dark is released won't be of the Dark element, so this would be a nice compromise on BFS's part. This might also lead on to new Rift designs of the other elements, like Eevee from Pokémon, where for example, placing a Rift dragon in a Plant habitat would turn it into a Plant Rift dragon. If that's the case, then perhaps it would be more worthwhile to collect the multiple Rift eggs (and those who have fewer Rifts can still breed for more).

LOL--well, they're up on my end anyway. But no dark release. Hmph!
NinjaKiwi.--curiosity question: The friends you have that want to figure things out for themselves, etc. Are they panicking? Did any of them max out?
The reason I ask is because I have three friends who are somewhat of that same mindset. In their case, none maxed out--but none are buying to reach the next level either. Two got as far Large + 2 eggs for Dark, one reached Giant. All did minimal grinding, if any--no bush islands in their parks! I wonder how typical they are to "most" people?
One or two have given up and another has gotten the large light with one egg and the small dark. It's hard to be certain because she is one of the friends who keeps disappearing from my list.

Personally, I think the rifts will be lift and drift, both with light and dark elements (like solar eclipses).
But an eevee dragon would be awesome!!!

This ^^
It is nice to fully fill up the bucket but can't be bothered filling up a full 9999 with a bush grind. Kept on playing normally and made sure I did all possible actions into getting magic but once the actions deplete in magic gain I'd leave it there. 1500/9999 or so now and I'm ready for dark to be released.

If it is released on Monday it could be an indication they work the normal Monday through friday job, and decided not to work over the weekend. It would take people to actually make such sweeping changes to everyone's park. First the gifts (dark or light rift), then the release of (probably) 6 new dragons, plus getting rid of rift island and tines(oh I hope they gift the tines). Those are programming sequences that have to be implimented and ensured they are bug free.
I hope they will release today. I am impatiently waiting now. If they do come out today, I will have to buy out my doctor fail(I needed the pedestal anyway).
I just upgraded my dark reward habitat to Giant (the 9999 one). After doing all the regular tasks that get you decent MP, I was only 500 away. So I had a mini grind this morning while on a conference call. Oh but how I don't look forward to selling those darned bushes... perhaps another conference call is needed.
Regarding RIFT dragons: I really like the idea that Rion found on facebook about the Rift dragon changing color. I guess we'll see what happens some time soon. I, personally, think the event will finish today.
Down the road, maybe we'll get a Prism dragon that does something nifty depending on the habitat it's in.

For advice of bush/plant grinding... I sorta wrote a medium sized article on page 98 of the thread. Check it out! You can't miss it... hehe Also, I'll add that you should listen to music while you grind. Less painful. A full album works best I feel. You can always turn off your DV sound, get an rdio trial (rdio is an app), and listen to an album or two of whatever artists you like.
(But if not. if it goes through the weekends, I can finish through to Giant and will probably spend $$ to make sure that happens. I'm too far away for now)

As far as dark rift goes, I'm pretty sure it will have a different look. If you click the help button at the tines or dark remnant, and click the bits of info about the event, it shows a light and a dark dragon orbiting a rift egg. And the triangle light symbol, along with a fang shaped dark symbol. The dragons are drawn kinda like caveman drawings... but it seems the light dragon was depicting the rift dragon we've received. And it is likely that the other dragon is the dark rift dragon. If you don't feel like going into the app, there are also pictures of it on page 1 of this thread. Note: I'm not the first person to point this out. But most people remain unaware, so I thought id explain the whole thing. Just look at the light dragon art, and tell me that doesn't look like it refers to the light rift dragon...

Nice find, didn't see that yet. But you are right; Light one does look very similar to what the light dragon looks like.

Not sure where else to put this, but for anyone looking to breed for cash in the wake of the breeding changes, we may have a new winner (at least until Dark comes out). For those with upgraded breeding spaces, Meadow/Luminous takes 7:11 and 10:24 and earns 2.5/2.8 million, respectively.
Now ask me how I know this so well... (Are we sure the chances of Meadow vs. Luminous are 50/50? As opposed to, say, 99/1? Sheesh. )

...Light/Plant has the same two options. I haven't been tracking but I'd say they are very close to 50/50. Maybe 60/40. But I've gotten a lot of both in my breeding for $$ before Jet came out.
