I wish they'd let us upgrade our Reward Habitats at some point. It would make a lot of players happy and wouldn't harm anything...

It would harm the integrity of the event and probably reduce the likelihood of people spending money on future events.

It could still happen of course, but IMO they have to weigh the fact that many people worked very hard to get those upgrades.

As such, I expect any possoible upgrade would have a fairly high cost associated with it to help ofset that.

I agree with you and I agree with BFS' intent, but considering their poor job at communicating the situation (at least in the beginning), led to some players being upset because they didn't understand what exactly they stood to gain or lose by contributing magic to their Light element.

I am still confused. I contributed magic and was given an egg. No dragons or habitats. I ended up spending gems on a light dragon and a dark dragon. Couldn't swing $100 for the rift dragons. Now I am reading that people received them for contributing magic. My best guess is that you had to be playing the magic event from it's beginning, which I did not do. My iphone4 was no longer able to load my park (among other things) and it wasn't until my husband surprised me with a new iPhone (bless him!) that I could get my park to load. I don't have an iPad, so playing on another device was out of the question. I kind of feel penalized for not being able to load my park.

Enough whining! I think BFS is doing a great job. I am torn between hoping I will have another chance and wanting to honor those that did it right the first time.

They were pretty clear from the get go that the more magic you contributed, the greater your reward. They provided a dark and light fragment that clearly recorded your progress to each reward, though you weren't told what that reward was until you reached the target (or read this forum!) You were then given a new target until you hit the maximum. I think only a few hit the maximum on both sides. I hit one but not the other.

So yes, it was easiest to get the max rewards if you slogged from the beginning of the event, it it was possible to get some reward with even a modest effort. But yes you needed to be playing the game and a dead iDevice would have made that very difficult.

So I just got DragonVale back a couple of days ago and didn't see this, so I imagine this was a limited thin or something? Because I can still buy Light dragons and Dark dragons for DragonCash, but I do not have the new island, Magic is not in my game. So was this a limited time thing? Because I don't even have an optional update on the Apple store. This is on my iPhone 4 by the way, if that changes anything. Please help, I really want this feature.

Sorry, yes, this was a limited event.
You can buy or breed the dark and light hybrids now, but the event island and the magic has gone.
Maybe we get another event with creating magic in the future ?

Magic could only be collected during a limited event that ran from October 9th 2013 until November 15th 2013.

It might return in some way shape or form in the future, but for now it's gone.

I'm going to lock this thread for now. Hopefully it won't cause any further confusion to players that may have missed the event.
