Back in August of 2012 I was in Macenstein's forum and a member there had RAVED about the Dragonvale Community Forum. So I just had to check it out and I have been hooked ever since. In fact, after I became a DV forum member I did the same by raving about the forum in Macenstein and also on DV Wiki. That is how impressed I was, and still am, about the Community.

We are happy you found us, too! Was not familiar with Macenstein.
When i get to level 27, i realize i need gem exchange friends, so i start to google it. First, i found macensteins site. Post fb id for gem buddy. Then some members start to rave about this community so i decided to look it up. I am happy to be apart of this very friendly community though i have not post a lot lately. English is not my first language and i don't know how to make a witty comment. Sometimes i don't get what some members talking about. Maybe culture related.

Don't let that worry you. English IS my first language, and half the time I don't have a clue what they are talking about either. If you don't understand, just ask. We will try again in different words. I will anyway.
Main GCID: GregDarcy Secondary: GregDarcyToo All gems friends spoken for. Happy to accept friends for party hats. I blame Apple's auto incorrect for all my typos. I actively discourage challenges. All challengers are unfriended.

Cha`o ba.n,
Terima Kashi. Ba.n kho?e kho^ng? I love to vist the land of thousand islands one day English is my third language, so I can relate to you in so many ways, and levels; I have a tendency to blab, like now. Please feel free to post if you have any questions...and for any reasons. I have learned that the members here are "forgiving", and patient, lots of patient in explaining things to you. W/ an aloha spirit, and no personal attacks, and no spams you will blend right in.

Heehee, I think it's time for a longer origins story...
I started DV in April, 2012. It didn't take me long to start looking up how the game worked, and how to breed certain dragons. I found this forum in May, around the time gemstones came out. And I lurked.
I eventually joined... the Wiki forum! It was a smaller community, and much less intimidating for someone like me to participate in. I'm shy to the point of anxiety, so it was best for me to start off small. For the most part I stayed over there, but always lurked here to see the commentary on the most recent updates. Around October there was a change in the forum structure and an art thread appeared! Woowee, I knew right then I would join. Just by lurking I had gained knowledge and wanted to give back. So I posted some art in the thread. It was fun, but I stayed there for a while. It really was a gradual process, finding my way to other threads.
Probably, I would've dropped DV a while ago if not for this forum. I've had a lovely time here!

Thank you greg and buffy, pixie and flutterbye. I know there's a lot of wonderful people out there and it seems most of them are right here in this community. When i first join this awesome club, i spend my time reading old thread. Thankfully they are all up to date. It fill me in on everything about dv. So, there's no need for now.

Awwww, wouldn't have pegged you for shy. Really glad you stuck with it and waded in carefully over time. You do such a great job as a staff member, thanks for giving us a chance.

Found you through a dear DV-friend in Dragonvale Tips & Tricks! (NO Friend Requests!) - Discussion in 'DragonVale Forum' started by 414ever, Sep 22, 2011.
Personally, although it's a bit late, I found you when I was searching for a dragonvale forum. I decided that I wanted to join this one... The rest is history.

And ask questions. Because people love to supply answers. :-)

Kiwichris - What Fletch said... it seems that when each of us stumbled onto this forum and found so much help from those who started it, we now want to pay it forward to players who are just joining. It's okay to go slowly but when an event hits and things get fast and furious, don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you want.

And make friends too! There are so many awesome resources all over this site, and half of them are peoples' minds, like Bloodstone or Fletch. Even today I see them as a front of all knowledge and power!

Oh, this forum certainly had the je-ne-sais-quoi. Maceinstein turned me off somewhat, ego trips and all (and then the rules changed and they didn't seem to have updated) and there seemed an awful lot of kids in the other community (mind you, I'm talking mental ages). But I'm perfectly willing to sign up with any kids on aloha. Sheesh, all things considered, I never really grew up. And I like kids.

Good that your here, it would have been a sore loss for us all had you not arrived!
