30 years old. I live in Denver, CO but I'm going to be moving to Indiana for work in July. I'm an anesthesiologist and I practice mostly in pain procedures... Epidurals, nerve blocks, etc. STILL single (all that school and moving around for training really puts a damper on the social life). My main hobby is riding and showing horses competitively. I have four horses (used to have five but two months ago my favorite broke his leg in the paddock and I had to put him down... Terribly sad) and two little doggies I let sleep in the bed with me. Yes, I'm one of those crazy animal people.
Who's next??
Your babies are very lucky to get to sleep with you. Love pugs!

Very interesting as I have had many Cervical epidurals and pain blocks. Going to be working on becoming a RN if my body will allow.

Ok, guess I will have a go!
Hi, my name is April Sykora and I am of 39 years. Like a few of you I too had a horrific childhood, and when my husband and I married; I told him I would not allow anything of the sort to happen in my future. I have been married for 15 years next week and we have been together for 20. And I definitely married my best friend. I have lived on my own since I was 17 and worked 2 jobs minimum to make sure that I would have a life. I then went to technical school for mechanical engineering for a while (being the only female in the class) until my real job demands would no longer allow for me to continue. I was in mortgage banking starting at 19 years old and worked through many departments and positions until I could foresee the collapse in 2003. At least 6 of those years were spent in IT on many levels as I seemed to excel quickly there. Everything from hardware to software support and in between along with networking and several other endeavors.
I have survived spinal meningitis, several severe car wrecks, more than 17 surgeries not including pain blocks and cervical epidurals and other injections. I have been pregnant 8 times and have 2 beautiful girls to show the world! I buried identical twin baby boys Trevor and Blake who died not too long after they were born. This was by far the hardest thing in my life. From this myself along with a few other ladies we created "TXMOMSOFTINYANGELS". A non-profit organization that helps parents who have babies unexpectedly in the NICU or who have lost there babies. We have been on a few radio stations and have helped many people. You can look us up currently on facebook. The greatest things in life sometimes come from our greatest tragedy.
My grandparents have a farm and I loved to ride "my horse" when I was there. And I still help my grandmother can vegetables. I also love to work on cars and race! I had a camaro that was test driven by Lou Gigliani and featured in a car magazine as the best handling car! This was a honor and a great experience for me.
While I am a stay at home mom currently. I am a Awareness Ambassador for The Sjogrens Syndrome Foundation. One of the autoimmune diseases that I have. I also do direct sales for iscentU. My website for that is: www.iscentu.com/april
Ok. Too much info I'm sure!!! But hey...thanks for reading! I would love to write a book someday, but I am not very good at organizing my thoughts as you can see!! Lol

Hello everyone! Thanks for the invite to this community! My name is Brittany and I am 21 years old. I love in North Carolina and I am currently attending college for a Geology degree. I work at Hollister. Like most of you I am addicted to dragonvale. I also love to dance. I started dancing when I was 3 and have continue to do so ever since. Even though I live in North Carolina, I spend a lot of time in Louisiana. That is where my boyfriend lives. We have been doing the long distance thing for a year now and yes it has been rough. He owns a helicopter flight school so he is pretty much stuck there for the time being. The plan is for me to move down there but it is a big step and kinda scary. Anyways, that's pretty much me. There is not much to tell. I am a boring person lol.
To follow forum rule: I just watched Game of Thrones and loved it. Cannot wait to next week. Also love the Big C and missed the premiere tonight, have to watch On Demand.
To add an avatar you need go to the website and add it via your profile. That is how I did it. To post a photos I use photobucket and upload via an IMG link. Hope this helps.
This thread is great. I love 'meeting' you all. Poppy, the way you speak about your wife and kids makes me cry. I would give anything for a marriage like that. Servant, your post kept me in tears I'm so sorry you lost your beautiful babies.
My name is Nicky and I've just turned 28. My husband is 34. We were married 9 years ago when I was just 19. We haven't wasted any time and I know have 4 gorgeous children named Josh (8), Benji (6), Sarah (4)' and Liam (2).
I grew up in New Zealand with my Dad and brother after my Mum left us to live in Aus when I was 3. I moved here when I was 14 after not being a fan of my new stepmum. I lived in Sydney from 97 till last year in July when we up and moved to Wagga Wagga NSW.
My passion and livelihood came about when Ben was a baby. He could not wear disposable nappies so I began sewing my own Modern Cloth Nappies. 6 years on, it has become a full time at home job for me while my DH is a stay at home Dad. My business name is NicNaps and I'm very proud of how far I've come and love that every day I get to create fun and cute works of art :-)
My business is probably one of the only things I like about myself. I was very confident and happy before I moved to Aus but it all went down hill after the because of the rocky relationship with my Mum. I've never been able to forgive her for leaving, which makes things quite difficult now that she has terminal cancer at the tender age of 51.
My hobbies and interests apart from sewing is anything computer related, rock music, and being involved in online forums! I currently receive weekly treatment for my severe social anxiety disorder which has resulted in me rarely leaving the house, not having my drivers license and has even caused a fallout with my close family members who don't quite understand what I go through
As you have guessed, my name is Viviane and I live in a village surrounded by vineyards not far from Geneva/Switzerland. Am much much younger then Poppy as I will only turn 65 in June lol. I am the product of a romantic story between a Belgian prisoner of war and a girl living in Bohemia (part of Tchekia) who was the daughter of a glass manufacturer, they eventually got married after the war and I was born as a Belgian in Brussels. We also lived in France and now in Switzerland as my father used to work for Nestlé. So I am a bit of a European melting product. I started working in International Sport and then went to work for a few years for the Munich Olympic Games as a translator. I came back to Switzerland and worked for IATA (International Air Transport Association) for 25 years, in publications sales and then in Finance as an accountant. Never understood anything about accounting but I managed. A few years ago, the management decided to get rid of women older then 55 and they made me a very attractive offer plus my full retirement to leave. The best offer I ever got! I have been on computers since the end of the 80’s, got on the internet via MSN in 1995 and was involved in community chats for 8 years on their chats, as a volunteer of course, MS is very good at that, working for 5 hours a day (besides my job) for them. But I made very good friends all around the world and went to visit them several times and they visited me. In those early days, mid of the nineties, the web just started and I decided to learn HTML to make my website. In those days, you had to do all the coding by hand, now you have fantastic tools to do that. So I started making websites and soon got customers. When I retired I went on until last year when I decided I just keep my regulars but do not take new ones. I am “working” as a helpdesk for friends and former colleagues having problems with their computers. Btw there is a huge market out there to teach the older generation to use computers, mobile phones, tablets etc. As you see, I am an antiquity on the web and can’t even imagine the world without it.
My name is Shellee and I'm 44 this month. I am married to my best friend and soul mate for 24 yrs. We were dating exactly 2 yrs to the date before getting married. We had 2 children. One being our son which we lost in 2008 at 22 yrs old due to prescription drug addiction and our daughter which has given us 2 beautiful grandchildren. My grand babies are one of the joys in life that keeps me going strong and gets me through the hard times. I was born and raised in Northern Idaho and have recently moved to SW Florida about 10 years ago. My husband and I have had owned a few corporations and are now retired...well kind of. We curretnly own/manage properties and have other investments in the market. We both have a love for cars which is a understatement and we are both into drag racing. I also love music and am a avid book reader but I pretty much only read fiction since I have enough reality in my life and family. If I were to write about all my hardships it would be a entire book. I guess I can say I am a very STRONG person in my eyes and most people that really know me personally tell me all the time they don't know how I do it. My husband says if it wasn't for him, and he is VERY giving that we would have nothing at all and be living on the streets if it were up to me because I am such a giving person. He's probably right. lol Anyways in a nutshell that is me and the short version of my life to date.
Brandy...I feel so much for you as you have been through so much. Your life kind of sounds like mine in some ways.
April..I all ready knew some of your story about your children as we have talked and I want to thank you again for signing my dad's guestbook. I feel for you more than ever after learning more about you.
Your life stories are inspiring and heartbreaking, some at the same time. Am very glad you all have shared them with us.
My story started 61 years ago, joining an older brother and no sisters. Lived in the same house until 20 years old when I packed my bags and moved from Washington to Alaska to begin my new career as a flight attendant (stewardess in those days). That was before the oil pipeline had been built, and Sarah Palin was only 5 years old. Had never lived anywhere that you could look out the living room window and see a moose walking down the road.
Very first job was working at a Bible camp on the crew. Did that for 3 summers and have to say, it was my very favorite job. Also worked at a steak house, pizza parlor, airplane propeller repair station and secretarial duties in the majority leader's office at the Oregon Legislature. Seeing as how I got a "D" in Government class in high school, getting my political education on the job was much more enjoyable. Guess I learn better by doing than by hearing.
This month will mark our 39th wedding anniversary. The original plan was to be married in a church, but that plan was ash canned when husband-to-be got plowed into by an El Camino going 60 mph, the day before the wedding. Here is our wedding photo, lol!
Photo was taken in the chapel of the hospital. Amazing how much faster it is to cancel a wedding compared to planning one. For years I heard how he could always have the marriage annulled based on the fact that he was drugged.
Despite suffering a broken pelvis in the accident, we have produced two lovely daughters who have produced 4 lovely grandchildren, one boy and 3 girls. Daughter number 1 and family live in Montana, and daughter number 2 will be moving to California this summer. Seeing lots of traveling in our future.
Working with my hands gives me much enjoyment. Have dabbled with crochet, chain maille and scroll saw.
Sewing gave me my only claim to fame, so to speak. Daughter number 2 was always very active in dance, which led to me making her dancewear, which led to making costumes, which led to me starting my own costume/dancewear business. The fame part comes from making uniforms for both the Seahawk and Sonics dance teams. Most of the dads in the neighborhood volunteered for duty when it was measuring day for the girls, lol. For some reason they all thought their assistance was needed.
Now we are living on a parcel from heaven amongst the evergreens, in a house we had built 10 years ago. Life is good.

You guys are all so very awesome!!! I absolutely love getting to know each one of you better! I cannot believe just how diverse and spread out we all are yet here we come together to play dragonvale and learn about each others amazing lives! What an amazing place this is!!! It really "cockles" my heart as Fletch would say!

Where to start? Headhunter out of school at 16 by a design company. If you knew Carlisle you'd know how unusual that is!!!! Didn't stick with it though. Moved to different dept and started sewing curtains etc. this early sewing start has stood me in good stead throughout life, always something to fall back on but don't do much now although still into arts and crafts as hobby, possibly going to try selling some art as I do animal portraits in pastel.
More recently I'm delivering first aid training. I was working with less educated for a while teaching life skills then literacy and numeracy for adults. Also had small business teaching youngsters team building skills, including job skills.
Currently doing proof reading course as I'm needing new direction and did graphic design at college. Was very interested in idea mentioned on other thread about adults wanting/needing basic computer skills. I'd like to break into that market.
Enough!! So many options and I don't know what to do.
Wish I had got into computers years ago but have reasonable skills, learn quickly and can teach to anyone at their own levels, tutored on friend over the phone.
Personal life in flux at moment but think it'll be ok. Like lots of other people, struggling so open to change.

Ok, let's go. I was born 35 years ago in Uruguay, from where my family had to get away because of the dictatorship there was from 1973 to 1985, so we fled to Mexico and been living there since then. I studied theatre, actually I studied acting, but I have done many other stage-related things, mainly directing and multimedia. Right now I work at the National Theatre Company as coordinator of lighting, audio and multimedia, which means I'm responsible for the technical part of all the Company plays. I've been married for 7 years and we had our first son exactly 1 year ago. This has effectevely changed our lives like no other thing and now I just want to have more time to spend with my son, which is very difficult in today's crazy rhythm of life, but I don't lose hope. I bought an Ipad just 1 year ago and my very first game was really Smurf's village, but I met DV a little more than a month ago and the addiction has been like I never saw before.
New goal: Crown 5 more dragons. Treats needed: 26,214,400. Current treats: 14,000,000

So, here goes: Michelle here, a (almost) 36 year old Australian female and yup, that's me in my avatar to the left of your screen - handy huh?! haha (In fact, I took that self-portrait with my iPhone earlier this morning because I got new glasses recently and needed a photo to send someone. I'm not sure why the quality looks so bad here FIXED IT!)
I'm a married mother of two. My daughter is 4 and my son is (almost) 20 months. Apart from DragonVale, my current obsession is Doctor Who. I've only ever watched the new series (starting with Christopher Eccleston as Doctor #9) and Doctor #10 (mmmm, David Tennant) is my absolute favourite, although I've liked all 3 so far. I can pretty much straight quote Shellee for the next bit as it completely applies to me -
I also love music and am a avid book reader but I pretty much only read fiction since I have enough reality in my life and family.
and then add "Reality continues to ruin my life" - Calvin (Calvin and Hobbes)
I'm currently on parental leave from paid work but will probably head back sometime later this year. The job I am on leave from is a claims processing role for one of the government health programs...and I hated it. It was only part-time (went part-time after my daughter was born) but I really felt it was slowly destroying my soul! I've worked for the same company (the federal goverment's health program) for about 7 years but have worked in various departments/roles within that. I hope to return to a different, more enjoyable, area but it seems unlikely that's possible, so I'll probably have to start job-hunting soon. (it's been so long since I had to do it and I'm not confident my skills and experience will be worth much elsewhere).
I've lived in Perth, Western Australia my whole life apart from 3 years in The Netherlands with my then boyfriend/fiancé now husband (he is Dutch).
I guess, I've had a reasonably unremarkable life by the standards I've read here so far and that seems good in some cases and not so great in others

Ok let's see, I'm 34 years old. I'm married to my wonderful wife Andrea who is 35 hehe! I have two boys named Nicholas and Andrew. Their nicknames are Nico and Andy. Nico is almost 8 and Andy is 6. What a handful!! We live with my grandfather in his house. He asked us to live with him after my grandmother passed away.... He says so we could save our money but we know he was getting lonely but he will never admit to that lol, and we are saving money! I work for an emergency animal hospital as a veterinary technician, it doesn't pay much but it can be very rewarding sometimes. Like we say, we don't do it to get rich, we do it because we like it! Sometimes thats more important than getting rich.
Anyways we are saving to hopefully get a house someday.I love fishing and spending time with my family. I also love playing dragonvale obviously lol but I think im just as drawn to this forum to talk with you guys. I think its really cool to have a place where everyone has at least one thing in common but then you get to know them and you may find that you have other things in common* does that make sense lol. Ok I think that's it. Any questions? Lol
I'm a 26 year old guy from Belgium, which apparently makes me a spring chicken around here I'm working for the Flemish government active in environmental legislation.
I'm pretty much raised as a gamer, in which I mostly enjoy strategic games, city builders and monster breeding games. Aside from that me and my partner are also nutters for cockatiels, and we own 8 of them in our appartment ^^

Ok here goes, I'm 52yrs old and grew up in queensland, but currently living in Canberra australia. I worked in the government for many years, but am now on a disability pension as I have a chronic pain condition which affects most of the nerves in my body, and carpal tunnel syndrome. I'm an avid reader, and I have long been into sci-fi and fantasy, and art and textiles, gardening and cooking are my other passions.
Until I bought my iPad, I have never been into gaming, but am hooked on dragonvale, pocket frogs and draw something. My housemate jokingly said to me a while ago â€you've turned into a gamer" and I had to laugh.
