Just got my wonderland theme, so I need 1500 ice berries from now until the end to get both dragons and eggs.
Dragonvale I wish that we could choose the order of our prizes. Because... I don't want a wonderland theme that badly! Grrrr... I just want the dragons!

What is the next level up from whining because I think I'm there. Rage? It's only a game I keep telling myself. Only a game that I have played all the way to Level 60 only to be essentially locked out during two huge activities. BFS can compensate me with whatever they feel like in terms of rewards but, in the end, that only boils down to pixels. What they can never give back is the social element. My parks have been in almost a perpetual state of "crashed" since December 23. I am (im)patiently waiting for my turn in the bfs support queue while you guys get to talk about how many snowflake dragons you have and how the new treatery works. This stinks worse than mucking out sulpher dragon stalls.

Susie I really feel for you. I know I would not be as sanguine were it myself in your situation. I'll send you as many gems as I can (other buddies you may take turns in getting them for a while), I know that won't compensate, but you should get a stash to cash in when things get sorted. You may consider a follow-up addendum to the query depending on how long you've waited. I have 168 missing iceberries and am patiently waiting in the queue too.
Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)

Did I have difficulty getting the 3rd Snowflake? ;0) Had a few fails that I used for decoration!
Those fails are mostly Snowflake Dragon 1? I am preparing myself for more fails, I suppose. Have been breeding 1 + 1 in both breeding sites, and have gotten 6 of the 1st SF, 3 of the 2nd, and 2 of 1st or 2nd, 1 of 3rd or 4th in the nursery.
You crowned all those dragons that could be crowned and displayed them on that island. Brags!

What Android device(s) are you using? In theory the game should run on devices running Android Gingerbread (2.3) and up, though I can;t imagine performance being very good on the older devices...
Have you tried connecting to the game via some other wifi source, such as a local library, Starbucks or McDonalds?

The even more sad thing is other players have mentioned not being able to get into the event too. I guess they may rethink doing an event this time of year again. I think at least one of the other users was using Kindle Fire which seems to have more issues with timely updates than iOS or Google Play.

I get the distinct feeling though that I am very far behind, even though I bought $10 worth of ice berries during the sale knowing I did not want to be one with my ipad during the holidays. Can anyone give me a sense of where I should be now to get the dragonsai bush? I am not even 1/2 way to earning the second snowflake dragon.

From the first page of this thread, you can earn a maximum of 469 berries per day. We are now about 15 days in. So 469x 15 = 7035 berries potentially which means you could be about a day away from getting the treatery. Not counting the double Christmas. So actually you could be on the way to the dragonsai upgrade.
HOWEVER That assumes you are being gifted 24 gems per day (10 berries per gift) and can afford to spend 40 gems per day and be able to remove five obstacles a day. I know I haven't been able to achieve any of these. I haven't even found the red devil every day let alone 4 times.
More realistically, I too spent $10 on berries. I have been playing daily. My wife says too much. Sigh. I am currently about 1500 berries towards the treatery. So if you take away 900 berries from that, it is reasonable to suppose a dedicated player would have their second snowflake and be well on the way to the treatery without having made a purchase.

The majority of fails were 1s and 2s. Number 3 took many tries.

I beat my head against the wall for days trying to get my second Snowflake #3 and my first Snowflake #4. I went through over 700 gems, dozens and dozens of fails. Then this morning Snowflakes starting to fall like, well, snowflakes. In rapid succession I got two 3's and two 4's. It was a blizzard. Now back to raising all of my dragons to level 18...
