This morning I am pleased to announce that I finally got that elusive Snowflake #4 egg which completes my egg collection (until the next new dragon). Like others before me I lost count of how many 1's and 2's that I have bred. I have five of each plus eggs and easily have sold another dozen. When they come they just seem to come one after another for two or three, then a 7 hour fail, then 3 to 4 more, then occasionally #3 or 4 pops in. Hang in there everyone, you will get it. I am using SF 1 + 1 . Koala to all

After a quick calculation, I should need around 3500 berries to get the Dragonsai bush, after today's cash-in. I haven't had the gems to spend 40 per day, so I just upgraded my Gemstone Island on the double weekend, and saved my clearing stuff for doubles. I know some of us have been locked out through this event, but I'm not sure if my progress is good/on-par/below-par? I'm averaging around 220 berries per day, so I will probably need to spend money for the bush; would that be recommended? Hopefully BFS will be able to do something for our fellow Valers that have been locked out.
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890
Just got my wonderland theme, so I need 1500 ice berries from now until the end to get both dragons and eggs.
Dragonvale I wish that we could choose the order of our prizes. Because... I don't want a wonderland theme that badly! Grrrr... I just want the dragons!
Oh well?...
Fabulously gay idea! And amen!

The majority of fails were 1s and 2s. Number 3 took many tries.
Crowns? I have sixty. ;0)
I beat my head against the wall for days trying to get my second Snowflake #3 and my first Snowflake #4. I went through over 700 gems, dozens and dozens of fails. Then this morning Snowflakes starting to fall like, well, snowflakes. In rapid succession I got two 3's and two 4's. It was a blizzard. Now back to raising all of my dragons to level 18...
I have been getting roughly 270 per day, but since I am running out of obstacles, I'm down to 260 per day. That assumes 60 from gifts and 25 gems spent on a habitat per day. I have not bought any berries but have had lots of gifts, so I am now about halfway to the Treatery- in case anyone wants to know where you could be with dedication but no purchases.

Currently breeding for whatever twins I can possibly get my hands on
Happy new year. I've been spending holiday time NOT dragonvaling and haven't read all posts. I get the distinct feeling though that I am very far behind, even though I bought $10 worth of ice berries during the sale knowing I did not want to be one with my ipad during the holidays. Can anyone give me a sense of where I should be now to get the dragonsai bush? I am not even 1/2 way to earning the second snowflake dragon.
Ps sorry Susie for your woes
From the first page of this thread, you can earn a maximum of 469 berries per day. We are now about 15 days in. So 469x 15 = 7035 berries potentially which means you could be about a day away from getting the treatery. Not counting the double Christmas. So actually you could be on the way to the dragonsai upgrade.
HOWEVER That assumes you are being gifted 24 gems per day (10 berries per gift) and can afford to spend 40 gems per day and be able to remove five obstacles a day. I know I haven't been able to achieve any of these. I haven't even found the red devil every day let alone 4 times.
More realistically, I too spent $10 on berries. I have been playing daily. My wife says too much. Sigh. I am currently about 1500 berries towards the treatery. So if you take away 900 berries from that, it is reasonable to suppose a dedicated player would have their second snowflake and be well on the way to the treatery without having made a purchase.
Thanks for the great breakdown and confirmation. . . very far behind.
I haven't been blowing gems, get 6 gifts a day, and have almost run out of obstacles to clear. I get just about 250 berries a day, and after today will be about 300 berries into the Treatery.
Hopefully there will be a double weekend, and then an extra 1/2 day to get berries so I can make sure I fall over the line.
I'm only seeing a max of 289 per day in my park. When a 7th friend gifts a gem I don't receive any ice berries from them. Is everyone else getting 240 per daily from gifts? Either way, I haven't hit all my marks every day and spent $5 on double weekend. Today I earned the 2nd dragon with 200 or so towards the treatery. I may need to spend another 5 to get the bush. Will cross that bridge when it comes.
Regarding the dragonsai bush, does it grant just one more giftable gem per day or is it more like a multiplier? Doubling or tripling the gems available to give?
Also, not at all thrilled with the low earning Snowflakes. For The Epics it just doesn't seem reasonable. Maybe the final prize for the event will be a Snowflake 'booster'. Such as, if all 4 Snowflake types are in the habitat, the booster could make make it a 'blizzard' of gold earned. One can dream at least.
I'm also in the school of thought that believes Snowflake 3 & 4 can be bred after the event as long as you have 1 & 2. Both sides of the debate have their strong points, however Snowflakes may be a new form of Epic dragon; a little bit more elemental and thus may possess their own unique rule set. (Just MHO)
Hang in there Suzie, hoping your parks are restored to normal soon!
Btw, your Susie S park is still on my list. The Susie G park went to level 1 when the issues first started and then vanished completely, but I send friend requests to it on Facebook daily.

I've been playing every day (with dedication but not obsession - although my husband would disagree). I had a few obstacles to clear but only play with 2 friends so am losing out on that front. I find Santaklotz often but not regularly 6 times a day. I rarely spend gems (I do want to purchase the lost island during the next double weekend) but I grow food often and mostly max out there as well as from collecting from habitats. I am now about 200 ice berries into my second snowflake dragon. I'll decide during next weekend if I will spend real money. If I do so, it will be because I feel the dragonvale team has given me a lot of fun through this game and they deserve cash for that.
Koala and lots of ice berries to this wonderful community!

Thanks. I see your requests on Facebook but can't do anything with them. The Susie S park seems to be working better but I have no idea why. Hopefully you are getting SS gems. That Friends list is intact possibly because I didn't try all of the "fixes" suggested on the bfs website. Interesting that my Level 60 Susan G park dropped to 1 and disappeared. That is the one that lost the Friends list. It drives me nuts to see my full dragonsai tree and not be able to send gems. For me, that park is still a Level 60 park so thank goodness for small favors!
Hopefully you and my other friends have enough other friends that you still got your Coal dragons and treats but you're still missing the gems I would have been sending.
What is the next level up from whining because I think I'm there. Rage? It's only a game I keep telling myself. Only a game that I have played all the way to Level 60 only to be essentially locked out during two huge activities. BFS can compensate me with whatever they feel like in terms of rewards but, in the end, that only boils down to pixels. What they can never give back is the social element. My parks have been in almost a perpetual state of "crashed" since December 23. I am (im)patiently waiting for my turn in the bfs support queue while you guys get to talk about how many snowflake dragons you have and how the new treatery works. This stinks worse than mucking out sulpher dragon stalls.
What Android device(s) are you using? In theory the game should run on devices running Android Gingerbread (2.3) and up, though I can;t imagine performance being very good on the older devices...
Have you tried connecting to the game via some other wifi source, such as a local library, Starbucks or McDonalds?
Android 4.2 for both devices. Granddaughter has a Kindle Fire and she has experienced daily crashes. It could very well be influenced by the quality of the Internet connection. I've used several different ones since the game started with varying degrees of success.
It's the loss of the Friends list that is really troublesome. I know that Facebook is going through some new privacy changes so maybe it's on their end. What I've noticed is that when I try to reconnect through fb following the bfs instructions, the message screen does not include Friends list as one of the items DV will access. It only says it will access my profile. I've put both of my devices side by side and stepped through every single setting in both of my fb accounts and they are identical. I will try to take a screenshot of what I mean but it boils down to dv is not asking fb for my friends.

Might be worth checking the settings on your device and seeing/resetting what is allowed to access Facebook and what Facebook is allowed to interact with.

Oh, I've seen this before.
I used my PC for messing with all the FB settings, but you should be able to do this from within the app if need be. The layout might be a little differ though depending on device screen size and app version, which is why I went with PC...
Obviously, you'll need to be logged into Facebook.
Go to the down arrow and click on Settings.
This brings up the settings page. Click on Apps from the list on the left.
Click on Dragonvale, which is under the Logged in with Faceboock section.
Does it have a little check box that says "Friends List (Required)" like in the pic?
I'm assuming it does not have Friends List shown there, which is the source of the problem. So here's what you'll need to do to fix it.
First, uninstall Dragonvale from your device.
At the bottom of the screenshot you should see a link that says Remove App. You'll need to click that in your browser. It will give you as popup that asks if you want to "Remove DragonVale?" and you'll need to click Remove. If you read the popup, it clearly tells you that this will not remove any data you have shared with DragonVale, which includes your park data that is still saved on BFSs servers. Don't worry.
Now you should be able to reinstall DV. Once you have done so, you'll need to open the app, put in your age again and log the app into Facebook. At this point, you should get the message that DV would like access to your Public Profile and Friends List, which you 100% want to say yes/ok to

That should fix it, but if not let me know.
That is exactly what I've done.... several times. It's the very final step that does not include the Friends list when doing the final reconnect to facebook. Because my friends saw me drop to Level 1 then disappear entirely I am reluctant to keep trying until bfs directly assures me that I won't lose my park.
I just received the Treatery this morning after doing my daily sweep. According to the wiki, the amount of treats you gift to a person depends on their level. The treats gift is 20% of a "Pile of Treats" purchase from your friends' market, as the amount differs depending on what level they are. Pretty nifty mechanic, as it sends roughly around 5 mil DC in treats for a level 60 player. I really like how BFS is opening up the social mechanic a little more, but I still face those downsides of not being able to visit my friend's parks or gift gems/treats stabily.
The Treatery annoys me somewhat in that I can't stand the itty bitty numbers that I can't round up. I like my treat stash to end in a multiple of 10, or bett yet, 100, this bunch of tarts that end in a 2 just offends my sense of neatness

Well that went smoother than expected. My first breeding of the two Snowflakes got me number 3 and my second breeding got me number 4. Now let's see how long it takes me to get those eggs...

Wow! Your all doing great, I'm miles behind on iceberries! Just got 1st snowflake and almost got the winter theme. Downside being, double weekends are great, but I work weekends with no internet access so really can't benefit that much from them! Hey ho. BEB is working out ok for me. Got a cous of the dragons I was missing and a while left yet so fingers crossed for some more!

The upside down pixellated wonky menus are back. I sure hope the BFS wizards are back in the office tomorrow because I can't stand much more of this.
