anyone know whether the rose paths will still be available to um "path" after the event is over? i remember reading that someone was going to ask backflip so what's the update on that
The diminishing returns on collections for this particular event is distinctly more diminished, at least for me. It's quite challenging to get those last few roses when collecting food and coins. It has been so diminished that I have begun to doubt my ability to add and subtract. However I was quite careful this morning to note the amount of roses needed and received. I am still trying to get the last eight roses for my food collections using either Sarjin Peppers or Dragon Snaps and I've been at it for hours. I think the diminishing returns has indeed diminished.
I haven't had much luck getting snowflake 4 either. I lost count of the 2 hour breeding and incubation dragons I have gotten since the end of the iceberry event, but it's got to be in the hundreds. One good thing is that the 4 hour combined breeding/incubation period comes in quite handy for this event. It makes getting the max roses for hatching a breeze. Still I would really like to get the final snowflake dragon.
I have yet to get a seed dragon even though I am trying in both the Epic Breeding Sanctuary and the Berrywhite Breeding Cave. I also throw lotus and ice in the Enchanted Breeding Cave when I have reached my max for hatching and my limit for patience for breeding snowflake for the 4th dragon. At that time I am trying for seed in all 3.
Perhaps Gardenia is not very fond of me. More likely she does not care for whiners and this post has been one excruciatingly long whine. Time for some attitude adjusting.
The Iceberry event was berry berry good for me, snowflake dragons not withstanding. The Berrywhite Breeding Cave is a berry berry good opportunity for breeding extra dragons. And I am enjoying this Gathering of Roses event immensely. Everything is coming up roses. And in the interest of not whining I won't mention how I did not get the opportunity to post on facebook and twitter and collect 2 gems when I collected the Path of Petals.
No more whining as my future is quite rosy indeed!
I am having the same issue as you cynmed, so you are not alone. The closer we get to the end of the event, the harder it becomes.
I received the second Thorn dragon last night, but here was the glitch. All together that dragon cost me 1998 roses. Nope that is not a typo. I was collecting last night when the game said I had collected enough roses to receive the 2nd Thorn Dragon. The pop up banner was pretty. So I click okay, go to social and no dragon to collect. Go back to event island and notice I now have 5 rose bushes, but the dragon egg is still on the pedestal and the collection bar is still there, the tree says I still need 58 to get the dragon. I buy (due to curiosity) after doing all the usual troubleshooting and I get the dragon (no new fanfare). I have created a spreadsheet for each event to keep track. My spreadsheet totaled 2004 for the 2nd Thorn with 6 left over. I turn those 6 in and the game says 1094 needed for the Omnitat which makes the habitat 1100. It will be interesting to see if this holds true.

cynmed, The Snowflake 3 and 4 can definitely be hard to get. Trying for what I needed, I ended up with 54 surplus Snowflake 1 and 12 surplus Snowflake 2, which I kept as eggs to decorate around my Snowflake habitat and cold habitats, so I definitely understand the frustration.
The Seed also seems to be a challenge, although I did get one last Saturday, trying in 3 spots, with 2 crowned dragons and no other dragon under 18, I haven't managed to get a second.
As for Gardenia, I'm not particularly fond of hunting for her. Santa was much easier to find. When I can't find her the first time through my islands, I totally close DV and reload. After doing that, I can usually find her without too much trouble.
I hope that Snowflake 4 and Seed both flitter down to grace your park quickly and turn into a flurry, whereby you can get what you need. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone, both dragons require lots of patience. By the way, patience has never been my strong suit, DV can be very frustrating for me.

So here is my dilemma. I have 1,000 roses on the way to the 1950 for the second Thorn -- things have gone well for this event as I have both seed dragons and an egg as well. It is Sunday morning and it appears I have 2 more days to buy doubled roses. Does this mean I have two more days of everything doubled? I can not remember. If so, I should be on to the omnitat by the 17th or 18th. That puts me very close to making it without spending money. It seems to me in past shorter events, there has only been one double weekend. Should I buy some double roses while I can, or risk not getting the omnitat or spend twice as much in normal buying at the end?

I'm almost exactly at the same point. Why not redo the math while you have a little time left on the sale? By then you will know whether or not we are actually in a four day double roses weekend. If we are, I'm not counting on another DR weekend before the event ends. See top of p. 7 of this thread for a conservative breakdown of the numbers. I think it's crumbles post.
I'm gonna take the treats, and leve the second thorn, just breed it as you can
A you cannot leave the second thorn. The way the game is structured you have to take thorn before you are eligible for the omnitat. If you simply don't turn in the roses but have enough at the end of the event. You will be given thorn before your leftovers are turned into treats. The only way to avoid thorn is to simply stop playing before you get enough roses for it.

If you are able to get Thorn 2 by the 18th that'd leave 5 days dedicated to roses for the omnitat. As long as you are able to get 220 roses per day, you can reach the omnitat without having to buy any roses.

Don't want the omnitat either.
I will simply stop just before I have enough for thorn. I will therefore take it easy on the whole roses front. I know I won't buy the omnitat, nor will I be efficient enough to get enough roses, and seeing as I can get thorn anyways, I'll just have the few treats.

I really want the Omnitat. It will be nice to put whatever dragons I want in it. My favorites or the most profitable... I'm not sure yet. And I love how it looks.
Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.

I'm thinking of cycling dragons through the Omnitat. Maybe having a show-off display for the most recently released dragons. Or maybe having a celebration display, put all the St. Patty's day dragons in one place or something.
It's going to mean restructuring my islands but I knew this day would come. Mainly because I need to juggle habitats around already...

I wish we could have just a small window of opportunity to be able to move something out into space for just a couple of minutes to get it out of the way while we rearrange. Islands are tight and rearranging becomes like a Rubix cube. At any rate I am looking forward to the Omnitat as well and counting roses to see how close it will be!

Yeah, I'm finding it difficult to move things around! I also wish we could multi-select, especially when it comes to moving eggs about. Those are a pain!
I want that Omnitat so I can group all the holiday dragons in one habitat and not have to do so much rearranging like I have to do now. I am also hoping we can buy more. I would love to open space on my islands by have 4 DRs in one habitat. I could sell off some of those rainbow habitats since BFS hasn't enlarged the RH to hold more than 2. And it is a cool looking habitat.
Finished up tonight. Got the Omnitat. Here is what happened. Omnitat was 1100, yay! But cannot purchase additional at this time, maybe not at all, will have to wait and see. Rose purchase no longer in the market. Can still collect roses, currently double as before, but cannot turn them in but they do keep accumulating. Event island still in park as is Berrywhite breeding cave, so I can still use it to breed.

I decided not to risk it myself (I've run out of obstacles to clear and wasn't going to spend gems unnecessarily) so I did plump for a 10-euro purchase, despite the fact that I've been hitting other maximums so far. Now it looks as though I'll be in excess by 500 roses, but not categorically, and a lower purchase would still have put me at risk. I'll be sending what I can your way tomorrow, though, while double roses are around, just to help out. It's the least I can do in return for what other friends have done for me :-)
Yeah, I know, I still have Last Call debts to pay (I just found out they fell due). But hey, I'll program that too -- as in check out who needs it most first and try to settle while Roses are around.
50 Roses short of the second Thorn dragon, I'll have another 30 in about 9 hours, when my Colosseum comes in. So hopefully I start working on the Omnitat tomorrow.
Edit: 2nd Thorn, (well, third, I bred one) in the nursery. The Omnitat should be attainable.
I am wondering: assuming you have a pair breeding in the berrywhite breeding cave and the event comes to an end on the 22nd. What happens ? The island and the cave are going to disappear. Are your dragons just sent back to their habitat and you have no egg? Or does it gives you the egg which was under way even if the breeding time is not over.

They can't automatically give you the egg if your nursery is full, so my guess is they're just going to cancel the breeding in progress.
Or Gardenia's going to jack your dragons. Grand theft draco
